Fright Night-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you had a fabulous weekend!! It's Monday and that means  it's time for a new BBTB2 challenge. Today our super talented and sweet Melanie chose for us to us any overlay from any Cricut cartridge. I used the Artbooking cartridge for my overlay as well as Art Philosophy for my card base. I decided to go with a Halloween card so I used the web overlay and spider. My card base is just a simple round card from the AP cartridge. I placed an orange circle on top and then my overlay. I shined up my overlay with some white ink, white gel pen doodles and some silver ink to give it a "gleam". I also used some iridescent sequins that really sparkle on the web. My spider has a little gem that I colored with My Spectrum Noir marker. I tied a double bow with some seam binding that I dyed with Black Soot distress ink.  For the inside I layered three circles and used Fright Night from My Creative Time to stamp my spiders and sentiment. Want some more inspiration? Go check out my Design Team Sisters, they have some awesome projects to awe you!! How about joining us by posting your overlay project, you know how much we love it when you get crafty with us!! Thanks for stopping by today, I always look forward to your comments. They always make me smile! Have a great week!

Cats or Dog? BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my fabulous crafty friends! Another weekend has flown by and it is time for a new challenge over at BBTB2. Our challenge this week was given by our departing team member Shelly and our theme is a cat or a dog, which do you prefer? I chose a dog because we are dog lovers and have a cute little Jack Russell named Pockets. And boy does she have all of use wrapped around her little paw! She loves to go farming with DH and DS. And if she gets left behind when they leave she comes running into me to let her out. She is so much fun and brings a lot of joy to this house. Now does that mean that I don't like cats? No, I love kittens, cats I like and dogs I love, love. lol I love most all animals. So on my card I used the Cricut cartridge Elegant Edges for my mat and shadow, Nate's ABC's for my dog, she is all ready for a walk and just needs her owner to take her, and a Cuttlebug die for my photo corners. I used some clear iridescent sequins that I got at Hobby Lobby on my mat and some SU bling on my puppy's collar and my sentiment. My sentiment and sentiment shape came from My Creative Time and you can find that here.  I did a little inking with Tim Holtz distress ink Black Walnut. All papers except my card base came from my scrap drawers or as my Momma Mary says, I used "snippets". lol. So how about it, do you prefer a cat or a dog or both??? Come join us in this challenge using your Cricut machine. You know we love when you get crafty with us!! We will miss you and your cute cards Shelly!!! As always I'm so happy you took the time to stop by and visit me today! I hope you will come back and visit me again soon. Have a wonderful week!

edited to add that I submitted this into the Snippets Playground Challenge 91.

And here is our Pockets girl in the field of course! She thinks she is helping by keeping all the mice away. lol Yes, she is good at catching mice.

Just A Little Note-Funday Friday Challenge

Happy TGIF to everyone out in blogland! As you know if it is Friday then it is time for a new challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. We have two sponsors this week and they are Bugaboo and The Paper Nest Dolls so our design team is split into 2 teams. I'm showcasing a Bugaboo digi today!  I chose this cute little angle on a musical note. I color this cute digi (which is a free digi!!) with my Spectrum Noir markers. Then I cut it out leaving a white space around. My background is lots of 1 inch squares and I laid them out on a base rectangle piece of card stock then ran it through my Cuttlebug using the SU Top Note die. I placed it on my white card base that I matted with grey card stock. My cute banner is from My Creative Time and you can get that here. My sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink and you can find that here.  I think this "patchwork" is so pretty and is a great way to use up scraps! What do you think, is it a technique you like?  Please go over to Jo's Scrap Shack to see what inspiration my design team sisters have for you, you won't be disappointed! Then think about linking up with us! We love when you get crafty with us!! Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and can get crafty!!

Your A Star-SOUS Challenge

Happy Friday my crafty friends! Today it is time for another die cut challenge from SOUS. You can use any kind of die cut machine or metal dies for this challenge. I used the Cricut CTMH Artbooking cartridge for my card today. It is a card that fits into a business sized envelope. I  used the star overlay and the some of the stamps that came with this Cricut bundle. I tapes the back of some of the starts with the sticky side of the tape facing out on my card. I then put some brown glitter on the sticky part of the tape, then glossy accents to keep glitter from coming off. I punched my stamped sentiment with a SU punch and cut another one from brown paper, cutting in half to shadow my sentiment. Cut the banner from a My Creative Time set and then glued my sentiment to it, popping it up on the card. I colored a star that came out of the overlay with a Spectrum Noir marker and stamped the arrow and cut it out as well.  How about joining us in this die cut challenge and make something with stars?!! As always thanks for stopping by to visit me today!

HB2U

Hello my crafty friends! I have a simple but cute card for you today. Son #1 had a birthday on Sept. 12th, but was still in Afghan at the time. He is now home and here is his birthday card. He is a heavy weight vehicle mechanic in the Army and has to be able to drive everything he fixes, so I made him a tool chest card. It's hard for me to come up with masculine cards at times. lol Now I have son #5's birthday card to do. His birthday is the 29th of Sept. and he teaches wood shop out in Iowa, so I think I am going to make him a tool chest too. lol Knock out two birds with one stone so to speak. I hope you enjoy this card. I used just red card stock and then used My Creative Time dies Stitched Party Dies which you can find here. The drawer handles are scraps of silver card stock punched with a discontinued SU punch. The tools are old stickers I used to look like they are "hanging" out the tool drawer (middle drawer is on pop dots) and the letter "wood" looking sticker are from my stash too and are old, old, old! lol  I inked the whole thing with Tim Holtz distress ink Black Soot. The inside sentiments are from Cardztv stamp set called Good Times and you can get that here. So what do you think?? Do you think it will pass for a mechanic and shop teacher??  As always thank you for stopping by to visit me today, I hope I was able to inspire you just a little!

Autumn-BBTB2 Challenge

Happy Monday my crafty friends! Today is a new challenge day over at BBTB2. Our sweet Sharon has given us the theme of Autumn! I love the vivid colors of autumn, the warm days and cool nights, yes just a perfect time of year! For my card today I used the new CTMH Artbooking cartridge. Love this cartridge and have just started exploring it, but it is a must have for sure! Any way I cut out the leaf from the shift icon button. I cut the top of the leaf in photo paper and then used the following alcohol inks to make it look like it does: Meadow, Latte, Butterscotch, Currant and Ginger. When a friend of mine gets her pics developed, they change out the paper when it gets low and she always asks if she can have it. It doesn't work in my printer, but it sure makes a great paper to use with alcohol inks! So if you get your pics developed and they run out of paper, asked for the roll they take out as they are going to throw it away anyway. The sketch is based off an old Mojo Monday sketch. I used My Creative Times  Mixed Holiday Sentiments and Piles of Smiles for my sentiments and die cut leaves on the inside of my card. My sequins are from American Crafts that I picked up at Target. My papers came from last years fall DCWV stack, I think. Not 100% sure about that. So how about making an autumn card and linking up with us! It's simple, just make sure to use your Cricut! Need some inspiration? Look no further than the BBTB2 design team, they will knock your socks off with their projects!!!  Also please not that BBTB2 is having a design team call!! If you want to be on an awesome team then please apply here!!!   As always thanks for taking the time to come by today!

Give Thanks-Jo's Funday Friday Challenge

Happy Friday my crafty friends! It's time for another Funday Friday Challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack and our design team sister, Amanda is hosting this week and picked autumn for our theme. Your sponsor this week is Your Next Stamp, so if you have any of those stamps please use them. I am sad to say that I do not have any of their stamps. So I use a SU stamps, an old one at that. lol I colored my image with my Spectrum Noir markers, then cut it out with a SB die and inked around the frame with distress ink, Tumble Glass. I decided to put my image on an easel card base. I used autumn paper from DCWV from last year. My rose is cut with the rolled flower die from My Creative Time as well as my sentiment. My other rose on the inside of the card I made with the Art Philosophy I think a long time ago. I had some leaves in my stash so used them on the rose on the outside of my card.  I added some bling and called it done.

Happy Harvest-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, hope your Monday is off to a fabulous start! Not sure where the weeks go or the weekends for that matter. lol As you know if it is Monday then it is time for a new challenge over at BBTB2. Our own sweet and very talented Jayne gave us the challenge of shaping up! We were to make a shaped card/project. I used the Cricut cartridge Wildcard, an oldie but goody. I used my Gypsy to size up my card and cut all my pieces with. I cute the "card" base twice, but the second time I let the straight card part hang off the mat only cutting the pumpkin part. I did a little inking, chalking and used a Spectrum Noir marker on the pumpkin. Most of the papers were from my scrap piles except for the base of the card. My sentiment comes from My Creative Time and you can find them here. Be sure to check out my design team sisters, they have such wonderful inspiration for you! Then join in with us and make a shaped card/project of your own and link up. Just be sure to follow our simple rules. As always thanks for stopping by today and have a happy Monday!

Witch Way to the Treats? BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, happy Monday to you! Do you have any picnics planned for today? We don't, just farm work for the hubs and I will be piddling around the house and maybe in the craft room.  I hope you enjoy your self what ever you have on the go!!  It's time for a new BBTB2 challenge and our own talented and sweet leader Susan has chosen the French Fry box from Art Philosophy or any other box for our challenge die cut. I've been wanting to use this cut so I'm glad that Susan picked it! I decided to go with a Halloween theme on my box to get my goodies ready for my grandchildren. The paper I used came from a Hobby Lobby Paper Studio stack called Jeepers Creepers. So here is my first French Fry box, I used an old rosette that I had left over and it worked perfectly, I put Hello Kitty all dressed up in her witch outfit on the rosette and tied black and orange seam binding on that I dyed with Tim Holt's distress inks. I glued my rosette on my box and then tucked some tissue paper down into the box and added my candy. I also used some stickles on Hello Kitty. I am also thinking about adding a tag on it to say Happy Halloween.  Quick and simple! So now I just need to get the rest of them done. lol Need some inspirations? Go check out BBTB2 and see what my design team sisters have in store for you! Ok it's your turn, make the French Fry box from AP, if you don't have AP when use any 3D box and link up with us. We so love when you get crafty with us!
