A Few Easy, Plain Jane Cards

Hope everyone weathered out Irene safe and sound!!  We had lost a couple big tree limbs in our front yard, but that didn't hurt my feelings since they are Chestnut trees and I want them down!! LOL  So we clean up this afternoon and all is good again.  We only lost our electric in the middle of the night and it was back on when I woke up at 4am.  A little water in the old part of the basement, but not much and some of our field corn leaves were shredded by the wind and some blown over, so all in all we were very blessed!!

Well here are a few cards that are plain Jane cards.  For the first one I used an SU punch and My Creative Time stamp set, "Wow! So Many Candles".  Love Emma's stamps!!  I am showing you a close up of the punched flower that I cut  two of and placed on top of each other to add some dimension.  I used all scraps for all my cards.

My next card I used a MS punch, a SU punch and SU new ribbon which I love, oh and pearls in a bottle.  All scraps once again, except of course the card base. See I told you plain Jane cards.

My next two cards I made last night while my guys went to play Texas Hold'em.  I didn't feel like going out in the rain so I stayed home.  I was in the Halloween mood so my first card was made using an MS punch, Just Rite stamps and Happy Hauntings.  Plain but I thought it was cute.  And the next one is simple but kinda' cute.  I used George Cricut cart, Just Rite Stamps and Pooh and Friends Cricut Cart, some stickles to make it look like stars twinkling in the night sky.  I am think about enter this one or maybe the ghost one in SOUS "sky" challenge.  Hope you enjoyed my plain Jane cards!

Breast Cancer Card Challenge from Robyn, My Pink Stamper

So Robyn, aka My Pink Stamper, recieved a letter from someone who is helping out with a Breast Cancer breakfast.  She asked Robyn if everyone would just make one card she could put them at each seat at the breakfast to give a smile to someone who is going through this difficult journey.  Well I really wanted to do this as I know what a difficult journey this is, not from personal experience, but I know some friends that have went through this difficult journey.  Plus I wanted to let someone know that I care and am routing for her.  And of course Robyn will enter you into a drawling to win something, so that's fun too!!! LOL  So here is my card.  I did a 9x4 card, I love this size card because you don't see to many of them out there.  This card was so simple but turned out elegant I think.  I used the textile cuddlebug folder,  my just rite stamps, and the scallop is from Lacy Labels and paper is from K & Co.  I also used the Believe stamp from My Pink Stamper's stamp set.  Here is a link to Robyn's post    http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/08/card-donations-needed-great-service.html    , maybe you will want to help by sending someone a card!  Now this card idea isn't my own, I saw it on a blog somewhere but do not remember who's blog it was.  So if you reconize this card idea let me know so I can give credit to the rightful owner!!  Thanks Everyone!!

It's Done!

My diaper cake is done!!  I am pretty pleased on how it turned out.  Is it perfect, no, but it is cute and I know my DIL will love it.  This diaper cake is easy to make, the hardest part was wrapping the diapers around the tubes.  It helps to have an extra pair of hands. LOL  I have to give Scrapalette all the credit, as this is where I saw it for the first time.  She has all directions on her blog.  Here is a link:  http://scrapalette.blogspot.com/2011/08/diaper-tricycle.html

Thanks for sharing in this diaper cake with me.  And a special thanks to Scrapalette for giving directions on how to do this adorable diaper cake!!  Love to hear your comments!!

Couple Cards

Hi Everyone!  Here are a couple cards that I made using all scraps.  One is a pinwheel I put on a card using some scraps that were laying around.  I know we all have them!! I used My Creative Time stamps Wow So Many Candles set to stamp my sentiments on both cards.  On the pinwheel card I used the threading water punch and some red twine from Paper Trey Ink.  I also used pearls in a bottle to but the pearl in the center of pinwheel and the little pearls by the sentiment.  For the flower card I used a Martha Steward punch-don't know the name of it, but it is a punch around the page punch.  I cut a 3 1/4" square and punched around then took some twine and ran though the punched holes, placed my flower in the middle and then slapped it down on a peice of black scrap and then on my white card base.  Used my scorer to score some lines and then put my sentiment in between the scored lines.  Simple but elegant I think.  Both of these cards where so easy and simple to make but I love the way they look!

Toilet Paper Halloween Mini Album

Ok I know it is a little early, but I wanted to show this because I got a lot of pics in this little mini.  It is made of empty toilet paper tubes.  I used 4 of them, smashed them flat, covered with cute paper and embellished.  I made this one for our cousin.  Sarah and Bret have trick or treated together since they were little.  I still have to make our yet, just haven't gotten to it. LOL  Soon though!  I used Fabulous Finds to give myself some more room for pics, and I used Hello Kitty Font for my boo!  Some punches and other embellies.  I also use some die cuts that I cut out and never did anything with.  Yep, have a whole box of them.  Do you???  Please tell me that I'm not the only one!!

Baby Banner

This is a banner I made for our newest granchild who is due to arrive any day now!  We know it is a boy.  I used Birthday Bash Cricut cart for the banner as well as the font.  I used twine to tie it all together.  Made my rosettes and got a little over zealous with them, but that's ok since it is my first banner.  Live and learn! LOL  Pattern paper is by Heidi Grace and solid cardstock is by Bazzill.

A Suzanne Inspired Card

I made a card that I was inspired to try by Suzanne.  She made flowers by taking 8 1" circles and folding into a "v" like look.  I think it turned out cute! LOL  The buttons I used are from SU.  I also used double side paper for my 1" circles.
