Cheers to Di at the Snippet's Playground!

Hello my crafty friends, the celebration of Di continues. First off I want to say if you are in the part of the country that is extremely cold, please stay warm and safe. It is winter after all, so it is what it is.

For my card today, I'm sending cheers to Di for her 7 year anniversary of running the Snippet's Playground, it is really 8 years old, but Di took over the challenge blog from Jules after a year. So for Di, it is 7 years of running the blog. She is an amazing host, so kind, so friendly, so talented, I could go on and on about how wonderful Di is! Parsnips, the bear is a hoot and tends to get us in some trouble out on the playground behind the bike shed, but he is a sweetie as well. And then there is the ever so cute and new to the family, Dudley. If you have had the privilege of playing along with your snippets (scraps) please do! Everyone makes you feel so welcome!! Di gives out prizes every fortnight (two weeks) out of her own pocket! So come and give it a play along won't you?!

My cards are on the masculine side, as I needed some for my stash. But I know many women who enjoy a cold beer, especially in the summer time. I can't drink a whole beer, so my late hubby always gave me the first cold drink of his when he had one. I miss that! But some of the boys will give me the first sip if they are here. So I guess I'm bringing the Brewster's behind the bike shed this go around. lol Yes, I used snippets, all papers are snippets except the card base.

If you stuck with me this far, kuddo's to you! As always my list of supplies will be down in the recipe section. I want to thank you for taking the time to visit me and leaving me a comment. Your comments always bring sunshine and warmth to my day. I will be by to visit you soon as well!

We are having a snow squall coming through as this Arctic storm comes in with the winds. Brrrrrr............I'm going to hibernate except when Kahlua has to go potty. lol

Special Event!

Today is the start of a special event! Di's friend Darnell from across the pond has initiated a surprise Blog Hop to thank Di for the SEVEN years she has managed the Snippets Playground where we go to show off our snippets makes, enjoy bonfires, have hot toddies, jump rope, play on the Playground equipment, trade beads, horse-around in the tree house, ride bikes, play with Parsnip (and now Dudley), and generally have an amazing and fun time! This special event will run from Jan. 27th at 12:05 PST to Feb. 10th at 11:55 pm PST.

Oh Gosh, I believe I first played in the Snippet's Playground challenge  in Nov. of 2014. I could be wrong, but think that was the first time. I was encouraged to play along by Mary of Carolina Cards. She had told me how fabulous Di and Parsnips was and she was right! Di is an amazingly sweet and talented lady not to mention very generous. She has the cutest little puppy, Dudley that is new to the family and she tells of his puppy antics. And of course there is Parsnips. He is so much fun as well.

So for my card, I made an encouragement type card (using a snippet of course!) for Miss Di for her 7 years of having the Snippet's Playground Challenge. Thanks for all you do Di as you do a lot and I know what a challenge it is to run a challenge! Love ya lots!!!

As always, I thank everyone who took the time to come and visit me. Your comments always bring so much sunshine to my life and makes my heart swell. I will be around to visit you soon too!

Bokeh Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I know another post! How did I accomplish this?! Well this is a very, very simple card. I wanted to try my hand at the bokeh technique and wouldn't you know that CAS Mix Up was having a bokeh challenge this month! I also needed a thank you card, so why not combine the two.

Well I have to say I found something out when making this card. I have had daubers in my stash for years. Did you know they go bad? Probably so, but I didn't realize it. lol So got out a clean dauber and went to use it for my white circles and wouldn't you know it just disintegrated! What a mess. So went in search of a TH sponge to use on the blending tool. Ok that is better. So I did the bokeh look, ink blending and stamping as well as wet embossing. I think I covered it all. As always my recipes of supplies will be down below.  I told you it was a very, very simple card!

As always I thank you for taking the time to stop and visit with me for a while. Your comments always bring sunshine to this part of my world, especially since it is still dreary and raining a lot here. Could be snow though, so I'm not going to complain....to loud! lol Hope to be around to visit you soon too.

Happy New Year! My First Challenge/post of 2019

Hello my crafty friends, I know I am late in wishing everyone a Happy New Year, but better late then never right?! Wishing so much happiness, blessings and good health to everyone!

Ok, I wanted to keep up with my Christmas card stash this year, Kahlua is getting better and not quite getting in to as much trouble as she was. Still gotta keep cords up though! But since she is being better, I was able to get some cards made. I wanted to join in on the CAS Christmas Card Challenge, the prompt is blue and silver. A color combination that I love, but never remember to use it. Dumb I know! So I thought, yep, I have to play along with this one. So out came the stamps and inks. As always everything I used will be in the recipe section below. I am also trying to use some of the many NBUS or stamp sets that haven't been given much love this year. Wish me luck. lol I even used some of my many snippets! So might go and join in over at the Playground, haven't been around to see Parsnips, Dudley or Di in a long while!

This card didn't quite turn out the way I envisioned it, but it is still ok and I'm good with it.  So I made 17 of them, well 18 but messed one up. lol But at least I have 17 cards ready to go for the coming Christmas season! I hope you enjoy it too.

As always, I thank you for taking time from your day to stop by and visiting me. I love it when you do and I know that I have been slack on my visiting. But hoping to get better with that! Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

It doesn't show well, but I have a blue mat and then the white, blue is matted on a silver mirror card foil. I also know my baby Jesus looks black, but he isn't.

Trying to tilt in the sunlight to show the shimmer of the silver ink. Not sure if you can see it or not.

And the inside, which I kept simple but matting matches the outside.
