Digital Dessert Fridaze Challenge-My Paper Crafting

Happy TGIF everyone!  Since it's Friday, you know what that means, yep it's time for Digital Dessert Fridaze over at My Paper Crafting!  If you haven't checked out Melin's cute digital your missing out!  Click  here to check out her digi's.  The digi I used for my card is called "Birthday Turtle".  He is just the cutest turtle and if you purchase him you get him with a face or without so you can use a cute PK face! How cool is that?! Plus most of Melin's digi's have a colored image and one that you can color yourself.  I did an unusual card today, it is called the Napkin Fold card. Here is a tutorial for it if you want to try one yourself! This is such a fun and cool fold. I colored my cute little birthday turtle with my Spectrum Noir markers, I inked my papers with black walnut distress ink, I used a Tim Holtz rosette die and a CTMH stamp set for my banner, I could have cut it out on my Cricut, but I just fussy cut around it. My sentiments came from My Creative Time and I think that is it. Make sure to go and see what my design team sisters have for you as well, I promise your won't be sorry, they are full of inspiration!! While you are at My Paper Crafting why not take advantage of Melin's free digital?!  Make a project with it and link back to MPC, we so love when you join in with us! Of course you can always use any digi you want, but using one of Melin's puts your name in the drawing twice!! Go over and check out the rules and then come an join in on the fun!!

Here is my card all folded up with the belly ban around it:

Here it is with the belly ban off, see the card starting to pop open?

And here it is all the way open, you could always put cute sentiments or die cuts, stickers what ever your heart desires on the triangular piece.  I chose to leave my spaces empty and just let the paper do the work.

And a close up of my sweet little turtle! Now how cute is he all dressed up with his party hat and balloons?!!

Crosses-My Paper Crafting Tags & ACT's Challenge

Happy Thursday my crafty friends!  Today is another Tags 'N ACT's Challenge over at My Paper Crafting.  Our theme this week is "the cross".  So I made a tag base using MCT tag die and a friend of mine let me use her cross embossing folder.  I cut out my cross using the Cricut Cartridge New Testament  I cut the cross with the purple fabric draped across it and then I cut out the crown of thorns from another cross accessory to hang on my cross. Tied on some ribbon and twine from SU, then added a MCT button die to my twine.  That's it, kept it simple and clean but it makes a big statement to me.  Hope you check out what my design team sisters have created for this challenge as well, they can really inspire you! Then join in on our challenge and link up with My Paper Crafting! We so love when you join in with us!

Happy Easter-My Paper Crafting Cricut Challenge

Hello crafty friends, I hope this hump day finds you all well and getting ready for Easter. For today's Cricut challenge over at My Paper Crafting our challenge is Easter.  I so need to get back to doing layouts, but needed more Easter cards, so the cards won out. lol Plus I'm waiting for some things to come from HSN and Amazon.  So for my card today, I used the CTMH Art Philosophy for my shaped card base and layer and Easter 2010 for my bunny.  My sentiment is from here as is the little yellow button and the glitter is an embossing powder glitter from SU. The grass is a punch from Fiskars that I layered.  A little twine, some faux stitching and a bow and I called it done. Now this is card idea was not my own, I saw it somewhere.  I don't remember where so if you recognize it please let me know so I can give credit due. I did however change it up though some. Here is a pic of the original:

Here is my take on this card:

So how about linking your Easter projects up with My Paper Crafting?  You know you are doing Easter projects anyway, so link up with us!  We so love it when you do!  Happy Easter and Happy Crafting!!!

Miss Your Face-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, a happy Monday to you all! We are supposed to have 3 to 6 inches of snow today, so much for Spring. :-(  Today I am host over at BBTB2 and I asked for my fabulous Design Team Sisters to use any card feature on any Cricut cartridge. This is a feature I rarely use and  knew I could use some inspiration.  I hope you go check out the fabulous cards my DTS made, they are awesome!! For me, I decided to send my son who is currently deployed in Afghan a card to let him know how much we miss him.  I used the Wild Card 2 Cricut cartridge along with my Spectrum Noir markers to give the hair texture and to put a nose on this poor girls face. lol I'm not an artist, but think it turned ok. At least DS will get a kick out of it. lol I used my Viva Pearl pen for the spots on the glasses and pearl earrings and glossy accents for the lenses, can't tell in the photo though. A little doodling with my white gel pen, which I'm bad at and really shouldn't try to doodle!! But once you start you have to finish. A little chalk to her cheeks and I called it done. I cut the envelope as well and put the same sentiment on the back of the envie.  I hope this puts a smile on his face when he gets it!!  It is important to keep up the spirits of the deployed soldiers in my mind.  So this will go out in today's mail to him. I hope you will check out your Cricut cartridges and make a card that is on one of your carts! When you do, please come and link it up with us, we so love when you play along!!  Thanks for looking and remember you all are awesome to me!

Melinda has such awesome digi files to work with, please go over and check out her digi stamps! They are priced very affordable too and not only that but she always offers a free digi every Friday!!! I think she is so generous with everyone. My digi today is call Chick in Egg with basket digi and you can find it here.  I color her with my Spectrum Noir markers, used a nestie to cut it out. I used a Martha Steward doily punch for my border at the top of the card and My Creative Time stamp set for my sentiments. My ribbon is SU and my paper is from Hobby Lobby Paper Studio stack with all the seasons in it. I think this little digi is just too cute! Don't you?!  Go over to My Paper Crafting and grab the free digi, make a project with it and link back up with us! You don't have to use a digi from MPC either, you can use any digi, you will just get your name in the drawling twice if you do use a MPC digi.  Have fun with this and play along with us. Celebrate Spring! MPC Challenge

Hello my crafty friends! It is Wednesday and you know that means its time for a new Cricut challenge over at My Paper Crafting. Our challenge this week is Spring. Can I just say I'm so ready for spring to get here already?!! We had snow on Monday, so the sun needs to stay out and keep away the snow! I'm so tired of the cold. lol As I'm sure many of you are too. Now I am so jealous of the south and CA-I want their 80 degree weather!! Oh well, I guess Spring will get here when she's ready and there's nothing I can do about it. So on to my card.  I decided to try this unusual shape card called Twist Fun Fold card. If you want to know how to make this card, got to here for a video tutorial. I used the Bloom Cricut cartridge for the water can with flowers and my sentiment, my bees came from the Cricut cartridge Just Because and my oval is a nestie. This card will make a pocket on the outside as well as the inside, but I glued the outside pocket and left the inside pocket open for a gift card.  This card made a cute and different gift card holder than the standard ones. Although I think it is cute, not sure I would like making to many, it was hard to have your stuff look straight on such an angular card. But it was fun to do, maybe I just need to try out some more, who knows. lol Go check out what my design team sister have for you for inspiration and then link up with us! We love it when you do!

Egg-ceptional Easter Eggs! BBTB2 Challenge

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you are recharged after the weekend. I know I am, my hubby took me to a B&B and boy did we have a great time! Ok enough about that, on to the new BBTB2 challenge. Our own wonderful leader Susan picked our challenge for today and that is Easter eggs! For my cute little card, or it just may go on a scrap page instead, lol, I used Doodlecharms for my basket and Easter 2010 for my yummy chocolate bunny and eggs. Do you see I've already bitten my bunny's ear?! lol Not really, but I so love this die cut because of that bit out the ear. I embossed my eggs with SU heat embossing glitter, sorry I can't seem to remember the name. Anyway it looks as though you've put glitter all over your die but it is heated and doesn't come off! Love this stuff, instant glitter paper! lol And that is about it. Oh wait I did use the CTMH Artiste cartridge to make my paper bow for on my basket. Flowers and brads from my stash. The leaf ribbon was a gift from my good friend Suzanne. I put glossy accents on my bunny along with a googly eye, I thought he turned out looking pretty realistic. Almost makes you want to take a bite doesn't it?! Almost!! lol

So why not come and join us in this challenge? We love when you come and play along with us. Check out what inspiration my design team sisters have for you and then link up your egg project!  Just remember to follow our simple rules and use a Cricut cut and make sure that your project is new and not back linked and have fun!  Can't wait to see what you make!

Digital Desserts Fridaze at My Paper Crafting

Happy Friday to you! Its time for a Digital Desserts Fridaze over at My Paper Crafting. I used this cute little digi called Chubby Bear as Bee and you can buy him here. I decided to do a twisted easel card with this cute little bear.  I used a yellow base card stock because it is a happy, sunny color and this digi is all about sunny! Isn't this little bear all dressed up as a bee just the cutest?! I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers and then cut him and his friends out with a Spellbinder Nestablility die.  My papers came from the DCWV Citrus stack and I used some SU ribbon and some Viva liquid Pearls as well as three black skittles/dew drops. My sentiments came from Paper Trey Ink.

My Paper Crafting and Madison's I Feel the Love Project for March

Hi everyone one, it is time for My Paper Crafting's Cricut challenge and also March's "I Feel the Love Project" by Madison! Please read about this cute little girl and her battle to be well again, then how about mailing a card of encouragement to her! I think as a parent this has got to be one of the most horrific things that could happen to your child. Please keep Claire in your thoughts and prayers as she is going to certainly need them as well as her family.  This sweet Claire has the same name my grand-daughter Claire has, so it touches my heart even more.

Here is my card for Claire, I hope it makes her smile cause she sure is a cutie when she is smiling! My card base is a joy fold card, I used Teddy Bear Parade for my cute bear bunny, the Easter paper is from an all season Paper Studio stack and the other papers are just from my scrap bins, sentiment and inside bunny die are from My Creative Time and the buttons are SU. My little bunny tails are Vivia liquid pearls.

Read more about Madison's I Feel the Love Project below and please think about sending this adorable sweet child some sunshine today.

I Feel the Love Project - March 2013

 Claire Koreck

This is Claire's story as told on her blog,
"The day after Christmas 2012, four-year-old Claire Koreck was taken to the doctor by her parents (Sheila and Patrick) for unexplained complaints of arm pain. A subsequent x-ray showed a fracture as well as multiple bone lesions, an alarming finding. They were immediately sent to CHOP and Claire was admitted overnight to have multiple tests performed. After days of uncertainty and more trips to the hospital a biopsy was done.
On January 2nd 2013 Sheila and Pat were facing every parent’s worst nightmare: Claire had been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma.  Ewing's Sarcoma is a primary bone cancer that affects mainly children and adolescents. It's one of a group of cancers known collectively as the Ewing sarcoma family of tumors (ESFT or sometimes just EFT). It's the second most common bone cancer in children, but it's also relatively uncommon. It accounts for only 1% of all childhood cancers.
Claire and her family now face a very long and difficult journey. Her sisters Maeve (age 6) and Sarah (age 2), and her twin brother Declan are too young to grasp the magnitude of the situation but they know that their sister is sick and the doctors and nurses are going to make her better. The treatment regiment calls for extended rounds of chemotherapy that could possibly last into the summer months, followed by surgery to remove the tumor, and finally radiation. As difficult as the road ahead will be for Claire and her family, they have no doubt whatsoever that the excellent staff at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the continued prayers and support of friends and family, will restore their Warrior Princess Claire back to full health...Please also feel free to follow Claire’s progress or offer words of encouragement to her and her family at her Caring Bridgesite."

Bunnies! BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, welcome to a new week!  This week my good friend and design team sister Suzanne is host of the BBTB2 challenge and she chose this weeks theme to be bunnies. OMGosh there are so many cute bunnies on the different Cricut cartridges!  I chose to use the cartridge  Easter 2010, there are a couple of really cute bunnies on this cart.  I chose the pillow box with the bunny cutout window in it.  I thought this would be a cute box for my grandkids with jelly beans in it. My papers came from a DCWV paper stack, I'm sorry I don't remember the stack name. I dyed some seam binding with my Tim Holtz distress ink Gathered Twigs, Pickled Raspberry, Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar. My sentiment came from My Creative Time "To My Best Peep" stamp set and my label is from My Creative Time "Vintage Stitched Label dies".  That's about it, I kept this project pretty simple since my grandchildren are pretty young and I didn't want any extra little pieces for them to get off and chew on or swallow.

 Some close ups:

Come on and link up your bunny project with us, just remember that this is a Cricut challenge and you must use a Cricut cut for your bunny after that you can embellish with whatever products you want. Make sure to link back to BBTB2 on your blog as well.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! Happy Crafting!!

St. Patty's Day Home Decor-MPC Challenge

Hi my crafty friends!  Happy hump day to you all!  Today's Cricut challenge at My Paper Crafting is "Irish Eye's Smiling", so anything to do with St. Patty's Day.  I didn't have any decorations for this time of year so I made myself some.  On Monday I posted a banner, today I am posting a wreath.  I am so loving these tulle wreaths and yes I've made quite a few of them. They are just so easy to make and they look nice as well.  I used a 10" Styrofoam wreath form and lots of tulle.  I cute my tulle at 15-18" strips, you will need about 50 of them, maybe more.  Tie them onto your wreath form making a knot. Enlarge the pic and you will see my knots, they make a little design going around the wreath.  Trim up your ends as you go keeping them as even as possible.  After you have your wreath covered you are ready to decorate how ever you would like.  I chose to put a Cricut cut on mine with some die cut shamrocks.  I might add shamrocks all the way around the wreath-still decided on that.  The Cricut cartridge I used is Simply Charmed, the shamrock die is from My Creative Time, and Peachy Keen face stamps.  Come and link up with us with your Cricut project!  We love it when you do!!

Hi my crafty friends!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend and are ready to start the new week with renewed energy.  Today is Monday and that means a new challenge over at BBTB2.  I am hosting this week's challenge and I chose for everyone to use a shamrock on their projects. You can use any shamrock from any Cricut cartridge.  So get those Cricut's humming everyone! For my project I made a banner.  I don't have any decorations for St. Patty's Day so I thought I might make a few.  I used Pretty Pennants, Blackletter for my "lucky" and A Child's Year for my shamrocks.  I used some stickles on my "lucky" as well as on my shamrocks.  I used some gems on the points of my pennants and some crystals on each corner.  For the center I used black liquid pearls.  I also used twine to tie my banner together.  If you are looking for some more inspiration go to BBTB2 and see what my design team sisters have for you, I promise you will find a lot of inspiration from them. While you are visiting leave them some blog love as well.  Have a wonderful week!
