JFF Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, welcome to a new challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. For this Funday Friday challenge we have two sponsors!! Yes, you heard me right! So the design team was split into two teams to showcase each sponsor's digi's. Wanna know who the sponsors are?! I though you might!  Our sponsors this week are Bugaboo and Paper Nest Dolls! They both have the cutest digi's and Paper Nest Dolls also have rubber stamps, so go check them out! Both teams were given the same sketch to use as well. Here is our sketch:

So I am showcasing a digi from Paper Nest Dolls.  I picked a cute little witch. I printed her out to a smaller size and colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers. I didn't do to good with her hair. Sometimes I do pretty good with hair and other times I don't. This was one of those "I don't" times. lol So I will be coloring her again to work on that. Practice makes perfect, or in my case a little better. lol The papers I used is The Bewitched paper stack from DCWV, I believe it's a stack from last year. A little stickles, a little ribbon and I called it done! Now you can see I didn't quite follow the sketch exactly. I didn't sew on my card, just not set up to do that yet. Hope to be able to in the future because I love when I see sewing on projects. I also didn't quite get my layers right, but I think I'm close enough to the sketch. And my sentiment doesn't quite go with my digi and don't ask me what I was thinking because I have no clue! lol So what do you think, isn't this little witch girl so cute?!! Ok my friends, it's your turn. Go to Jo's Scrap Shack and read up on the rules, the sponsors and the prizes, then create a project using the sketch and link up with us. We love when you get crafty with us!! Thanks for visiting me today!

Treasured Friends-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello crafty friends, happy Monday to you all! As you know Monday's are new challenge days over at BBTB2.  For this week our sweet and talented Michelle picked our theme and it is "Get Wet!". Use anything Cricut die cut that is water related. Well I had a completely different project in mind, I wanted to do a scrapbook page but with time being so short and no ink in my printer, I went with a card instead.  It didn't quite turn out the way I canted it to, but you win some and you lose some. lol I used the Cricut cartridge Pack Your Bags for all my cuts. My card is a tri fold card that I learn how to make on my Gypsy from She's A Sassy Lady video. I used some stickles and a little gem for the eye of my whale, at least it is a whale to me. lol Maybe it is a dolphin but I made it to be a killer whale. lol  I used sentiments from My Creative Time and on the inside will write a message to a very good friend of mine who just loves the shore. So my friends with summer winding down, let's see your water projects! Link up with us over at BBTB2, you know we just love it when you get crafty with us!!!

Peach Custard Pie, oh my!!!

Evening my crafty friends! I have a third post for you today. Only this one isn't crafty. lol This one is made to tempt your tummy! My guys love pies, ok they love anything home baked. Right now peaches are in and apples are starting. So up to the orchard we went last Saturday to get some. Now the men in my life are set for getting peach and apple pies and I'm up to my elbows in rolling out pie crust and cutting up peaches and apples. This is a recipe from my husband's grandmother and it is to die for!! You will think you died and went to heaven after eating it! It is so creamy and just melts in your mouth. lol Yes, it is that good. People go nuts over this pie where ever I take it. I just baked an apple pie and this peach pie for some re-en-actors and they loved them! They already have put in their request for Oct. Nice to make $$ for baking some pies!!

Ok here is the peach pie as it looks when it comes out of the oven. I like to have a pie while it is still warm. DH doesn't like any pie warm where as I love warm pie!

Here is the recipe if you would like to try it, very easy pie to make. And you don't have to make your own crust. I would just be tared and feathered if I didn't make my own crust. lol

Peach Custard Pie

7 medium peaches, sliced and placed in pie crust
1 unbaked pie crust

Mix together with a wisk:

1 c. whipping cream
2/3 c. white sugar
4 tbsp. of flour
1/4 tsp. of salt
Pour this over the peaches in the pie crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Then turn back the over to 350 degrees and continue to bake for another hour. Chill pie and enjoy!! Trust me everyone will be asking you for this recipe!!

Jo's Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, this is my second post for today.  For the SOUS challenge post scroll down to the next post.

I hope you all are having a great Friday.  It is going well here, school is back in session and already my son had to have me run a book over to the school for him that he forgot. I did so because he didn't get home from work until after 11 pm and still had homework to do.  So he wasn't wide awake and together this morning.  Now he tells me he has a study hall class that is 2 hours long (our high school does block scheduling) that he could have did his homework in. WHAT?!!!  I told him that he needs to get his full sleep in or else he will need to cut his hours at work so he can get his homework done and grades kept up.  I think we just need to get into the swing of back being back in session and then then hopefully things will go better! lol

Ok enough of my ramblings.  At Jo's Scrap Shack Jo gave us an inspiration photo to go by and our sponsor this week is Stamp Art Design by Kathryne. She has such cute digi's over there, you must check her out!!  The digi I chose is called "full bloom" and it is so pretty.  I colored my image with my Spectrum Noir markers, my doily is from My Creative Time, my lacy ribbon is from SU and my pearls is Recollections from Michael's. My paper is by My Mind's Eye, Miss Caroline, love this paper pack!

Here's the inspiration photo:

And here is my card using the inspiration photo and my Whimsy digital stamp:

Brrr baby! SOUS Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you all are having a fabulous Friday!! It has been crazy busy around here. Between grandchildren, wisdom teeth pulled for my son, back from vacation, putting up sweet corn, mowing, and every other chore there is to be done, I'm popped! My son has been back in school for 3 days now. Not sure where the summer went and not sure I'm ready to give it up, but hopefully fall will bring some calm to my days. lol

Well seeing how it's been a really busy August, my project I have to share with you isn't all that great. It was done as fast as I could and my whole heart and soul didn't go into it. So with that being said, I apologize for not having a better project for you. It's time for another Stuck on You Sketches Die Cut challenge.  Our challenge was to use a border on our project. I went with a quick and simple border of snowflakes. I used DCWV glitter paper for my base, my layer and for my snowflake border as well as my snowflake.  I used CTMH Art Philosophy for my snowflake border as well as my card shape and the Cuttlebug snowflake die for my big snowflake. My sentiments came from My Pink Stamper. I used a brad to attach my snowflake and that is it. I told you it was quick and simple.  Thanks for visiting today and hopefully life will settle down soon! Now please go over to SOUS and see what fabulous inspiration my design team sisters have for you, I promise you they will be much better than mine!! Then why not make a project of your own using any die cut or die cut machine to make a border with and link up with us. You know we love it when you get crafty with us ;-)

Summer Heat is for the Birds-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, Happy Monday to you all.  As you know if it is Monday then it is time for a new BBTB2 challenge and this week our own sweet Melanie has chosen the theme "Summer Heart is for the birds". lol So we must use a Cricut bird on our projects. Well what better way to beat the heat than to think about Christmas?!  So my card uses the Dec. 25th Cricut cartridge. My card is very simple and pretty plain except for the stickles and background paper. It really sparkles in real life.  I used the wreath cut on Dec. 25 and added the little bird on the holly leaves and placed him right on my wreath. Then I used some stickles to glitter everything up. I used My Creative Time tickets to place my sentiment on.  My sentiments are from My Pink Stamper. That's it folks, told you it was plain and simple.  Now go over and see what kind of "bird" projects my design team sisters have for you and then make your own bird project and link up with us!

Birthday Fishes! Jo's Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my crafty friends! Did you think I fell off the face of the earth? lol I all but thought I did too. Vacation was wonderful, we got home last Friday, then Saturday and Sunday was spent with 4 of our grandchildren. Tuesday son #6 got his wisdom teeth out. So I was nurse maid for a few days, then a cousin wanted pies made-so today I was making pies, and then 2 of our grandchildren came over to say good bye as they are heading back to NY. It's always hard for my grand-daughter to say good-bye. It doesn't matter if she is here or we are at her house, she always cries and breaks my heart. She is older now and getting ready to start kindergarten, but she still gets very sad and won't let me go. And now our grandson is starting to do that with his Papaw because he wants to go farming on the big tractor with him.  I guess we are going to have to get them for a whole week next summer and let them run around on the farm and go in the tractors with their Papaw!  These little ones sure can tug at your heartstrings!! So that's why you haven't seen anything from me this week until now. lol

Ok onto our challenge! It's Friday and you know that means that it is time for another Jo's Funday Friday challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. This week our sponsor is Bugaboo Digital Stamps  and our challenge is anything goes.  If you have any Bugaboo Digital Stamps, please use them for this challenge, if not then use what ever you want to use.  Please go over to Jo's Scrap Shack to check out all the info for this challenge and to see what fabulous digital stamps my design team sisters chose from Bugaboo, I promise you will be inspired to get some of these fun digital stamps to color and turn into fun cards or layouts! Now onto my card, I picked this cute but hilarious fish sending out birthday fishes! I had a blast coloring in this digi and turning it into an awesome card to give to someone for their birthday. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color my digi, then used some glossy accents on the fish lips, eyes and bubbles.  I added some stickles to this fishes fins and candle. I also placed little beads on my twine. I think that does it!  I hope you enjoy this cute card and will consider coloring a fun digi too! Then link up with us because you know how much we love when you get crafty with us!

Summer Fun! Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, happy TGIF to you all.  I am not home yet, on the road though and although we had a fabulous time it is always good to come back home and sleep in your own bed! lol Love that our son held down the home front while we were gone, we have good guys!! So today at Jo's Scrap Shack our theme is H20 and we were asked to use a digi from our sponsor-Niki from over at Limited Runs Digi's. I chose this cute little girl with her water toy.  I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers. I also used My Creative time dies and circle stamps and circle images for my sentiment. I also used a old Mojo Monday sketch. My ribbon is from SU and my punched border is an EK Success scallop, scallop. My papers are from Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby called Khloe Lane. I also went back and added glossy accents to her little inner tube. But didn't retake the pic. Sorry about that! I pop dotted her up on the white base.  I did forget however to take my black marker and go around this little cutie after I cut her out. I eliminates the white outline. But wasn't taking her back off to do it. lol  A little faux stitching and I called it done. Go over to Jo's Scrap Shack and see what inspiration and other cute digi's my design teams sisters chose. Ready the rules and think about joining us on this challenge. You know we love it when you get crafty with us!!!

Missing Ewe-SOUS Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, wow can you believe it is Friday?!! Well I'm on my way home from a fantastic vacation in Myrtle Beach. Our adult children held down the home front for us. It was good to get away and good to see some family that we haven't seen in quite a while, but it will be soooo nice to be back in my own bed!! lol

Well since it is Friday, it is time for another SOUS die cut challenge. Our theme this time is "Furry Friends/Animals".  I used the Wild Card 2 to make my card. It is a cute little lamb jumping over the fence. The sentiment is "Wishing ewe where here". I cut the card base at the recommended size from the book. I sure wish the sentiments would cut to size too. Does anyone have any tips on making the sentiments the right size?? That's what I love about Wild Card 1 is that the sentiments cut to size as the card base. Oh well, my sentiment is a little large. lol I popped up my lambs head layers to give dimension to my card. Looks pretty good in person. I did ink around my card base with Vintage Photo distress ink. Please go check out SOUS as my design team sisters have some awesome inspiration for you! Then think about getting crafty with us and link up a Furry Friend project with us! We love when you get crafty with us!!

No More School Bus! BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I am off enjoying our vacation so I hope the posts that I have scheduled post without any problems!  It's Monday and while I'm enjoying a fish fry in Myrtle Beach, SC you get to look at my post. lol  Since it is Monday, you know that means it's time for a new challenge at BBTB2. Our theme for this week is to use a school bus. Well I am slowly getting on the band wagon (I'm always slow about jumping on band wagons!) and getting into Project Life. Not as it is intended but as a way to help me catch up on all my photos.  So I did a PL page for this challenge.  My school bus came from Doodlecharms, and my "no" symbol came from Going Places. My journaling spots are cut using a My Creative Time die which you can find here and stamped with the matching stamps from My Creative Time and you can find those here. My youngest son got his permit in Jan. of 2012, then got his license in Sept of 2012 and his Jeep in Aug. of 2012 and his first job in April of 2012. A big year for him!! The biggest thrill for him was not to have to ride on the bus anymore!!! He was always first on and last off so that made for a long, long ride for him. As soon as he had that license in hand, he was driving to school! lol Now he is getting ready to drive again this year, his senior year. Where did the time go?!! How did my baby, son number 6 grow up so fast?!!! I can't believe that we will soon be empty nester. I'm so not ready but yet I am. Does that make sense?!! lol Well let me keep this moving. I hope that you will check out what inspiration  my design team sisters have for you, I promise you won't be disappointed!!! Then think about getting crafty with us by linking up your school bus project! You know we love when you get crafty with us!!

I am linking this layout up with Craftin Desert Diva's Back to School linking party.

It's so good to have such wonderful adult children.  Well since today is Friday you know that means it is time for a new challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. We were given a sketch to go by this week. Here is my take on that sketch. I used a stamp set from Paper Trey Ink called Cupcake Collection, my Spectrum Noir markers, papers from The Paper Studio called Lola & Luca and some bling.
