Look at What my Son Made Me!!!

Hi my crafty friends, I'm so excited to share with you what my baby made me this spring at school. So far he has made himself a tv stand, a dresses and a queen sized bed frame with a headboard and foot board. Well he has made me a tv stand too and you can see that here. But he also made me a queen sized bed too for our guest bedroom!!! OMGosh it is beautiful and solid as a rock! I'm so in love with it, love it even more than I do my own queen bed that we paid lots of money for. So I was working on getting this room pulled together so there are some things in the pictures that haven't been put in their spot yet. I started with making the bed. My comforter is old and totally worn out but it will do until I get a new one for this beautiful bed. Our grandkids can't wait to spend the night and sleep in Uncle Bret's new bed that he made. lol I can't wait either! So for Bret's grad present we got him a nice mattress and box spring and got ourselves one too and put our old mattress and box spring on the guest bedroom bed. I think our son made out pretty good, but I think we did too with this nice bed. I hope to one day give it to his first born child to have. Well lets get at it and see the pictures of this bed! I'm so proud of him!!

I am using a wooden tv tray as a night stand until I find something I like. This is a small room so it won't be anything to big. As you can see there is the door to go out the room and to the right where the tv tray is is the closet.

This is the side rails, talk about beefy!! They are way bigger than what is on my own bed. Yes, our carpet is worn out too. lol I am hoping to soon get hardwood floors in the house throughout. One step at a time!

And here is the foot board. I love the way he did the legs, they are tapered down and they look so pretty. I so love this bed!! He got second place on it at May Day. His is similar but he did panels on his head and foot boards. He likes this one better and I told him he could have this one instead. I really love both beds and it didn't matter to me which one he gave me. But being the sweetie he is, he said no-he made this one for me. Awww, how sweet is he?!! I'm not partial or anything though. lol

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this beautiful bed. I'm tickle pink over it!! Thanks for stopping by and letting me brag a little...ok I bragged a lot! lol Crafty hugs, Brenda

All American Girl-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today at BBTB2 our talented design team sister Melanie has issued a summer challenge for us. There is all kinds of fun that goes on in the summer! I chose to scrap a few pictures of my granddaughter when she was a baby and swimming in our pool. I can't believe she will be 6 years old this fall! It seems like yesterday she was tiny like this. lol First my boys and now my grandchildren are growing up way to fast. I must apologize first off for the poor lightening. I didn't get done before dark, so I had terrible lightening to work with. Either I was in my shadow or else I could get up on the layout to get a good picture. For my title I used the Cricut cartridge Opposites Attract. I also cut it twice once in black and then either red or the blue so I could "shadow" it. Yes, this cartridge does have a shadow, but I just wanted to offset a shadow. For my beach ball and little bathing suit (which I messed up on, but at that point didn't care!) came from the cartridge Pack Your Bags, and the little duck came from the cartridge Doodlecharms. I used some of my homemade enamel dots to finish the layout off. And that is it. I had gotten her a little two piece red/white/blue bathing suit and she wore it while swimming at Papaw's and Grandma's pool, so that's why I went with a red/white/blue color theme. Plus her daddy is a soldier, another reason I got the patriotic suit. I have some other pictures that show her in her bathing suit and I will probably do a second page layout to go with this one. I'm so looking forward to seeing this little lady and her brother when they come in this Thursday for the wedding of our other son. So what do you think, gotta summer project in mind?? Well get it done and link up with us over at BBTB2. Can't wait to see what you do! Need inspiration?? Well look no farther than the design team-they have wonderful inspiration for you. As always thanks for stopping by for a spell today. I always love Monday visitors, and while you are here come on our and take a dip in the pool with me. I love chatting out in the pool or on the pool deck. Until next time-Crafty hugs, Brenda

Another view-trying to be better lightening. lol

Another NBUS!

Hello my crafty friends, I have another simple CAS card for Darnell's challenge of "never been used stuff". I got the die to die cut this cute vintage typewriter but hadn't used it yet. Oh boy I am so loving have a die to cut this baby out! It has stitching on the "paper" that is in the typewriter, how cute! Anyway the typewriter (which is popped up), sentiment, paper plane and plane "tracks" are from My Creative Time. I used some sequins and popped my white layer up on my white card base called it done. Simple, simple and very fast! Well fast if you don't drop the stamp and have to go looking all over creation for it. I was panicking for a while and then decided to pray to St. Anthony and of course he came right through for me and I found the stamp in the trash can. It must have bounced off my leg and right into my full trash can!!! It never fails, when I lose something I will just pray to St. Anthony-he has never left me down yet! Anyway go check out Darnell's blog, you will be greatly amused and walk away with a light, happy heart and while there why not join in on her challenge. She has some awesome blog candy up for grabs! Thanks again for stopping by for a spell, you know how much your visits me to me cause you know I only have men to talk too and my men don't talk much!! lol Until next time...crafty hugs, Brenda

Graduation Continues....At BBTB2

Hello my crafty friends, I think I am finally getting myself back on track again, it think. lol  It's been busy and crazy around here since the end of May. I had a Lupus flare because I stress out over things way to much. What can I say, I've been like this since I was 3 years old!  I am trying hard not to stress so much, but when your baby grows up on you, it's hard not to stress. Or at least it was hard for me. Any way, after a few weeks of resting and trying to keep up with the mowing, I am finally getting some energy back and feeling better. Of course we had a full week of rain and ugly grey days, which didn't help my RA and Lupus. My body didn't want to bend or move. I hate feeling like I'm 104 years old. Anyway, graduation isn't done yet! Yep you heard me right, my sweet design team sister Mayra has issued the challenge to the rest of us at BBTB2  of graduation. And of course I made it hard on myself cause you know with the blockage up in my brain, I just don't think right, oh and add in the Lupus fog and you got one mother with no brain! That's how I feel, no brain Brenda should be my new name. I wanted to keep the graduation party stuff for this challenge and what did I do but went and posted it. lol See, told you...no brain! So back to the drawling board I went. Of course I used Pinterest for my inspiration and jumping point. Well I came across a card that I made for son #4 when he graduated from college back in Dec. But I did it with the Cricut this time! Here is the original card. Now here is mine:

Yes, a blatant copy! I am not above copying an awesome card, no I have no shame at all!  I am hearing you asking me where in the heck did I use the Cricut at, right?! Well I used the Cricut cartridge Pretty Pennants for the three pennant shapes!  Then I used a My Creative Time die for my sentiment banner. The little "hat" is just a square I cute and then place a little tassel on. Yes, I know my "buttons" are crooked-dang it again! When will I ever learn to measure and make marks with a pencil instead of just eye bawling everything?!! I know I can't eye bawl things because I have crooked eyes!! Oh well what is done is done. My buttons are Vivia pearl pen as is the "button" on the hat. My sentiment comes from a Cardz TV stamp set. So that's my card for this challenge at BBTB2. You will so need to go check out what all my design team sisters have done, I promise you won't be disappointed with their grad projects. Then I hope you will join us with your own grad project and link up with BBTB2!! I can't wait to see what you all do! Thanks as always for stopping by and sittin' a spell with me. Gosh we just may have to sit out by the pool this week because it is supposed to be hot this week. So if you come looking, check out by the pool for me. Until next time...crafty hugs, Brenda

NBUS!!

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a wonderful day with  your father's today! It's a lovely day here in PA-well actually it's a perfect day here in PA! lol

Over at djkardkreations, Darnell is having a challenge for reaching 500 followers and she wants us to use our never been used stuff. So I thought I'd play along. If you've never been to Darnell's blog you are missing out! Not only is she incredibly talented but she is also a great writer and has me laughing all the time. I just love visiting her cause I know I will always come away with a smile on my face thinking, "that was so much fun!".  And I have cough a lot of never been used schtuff!!! lol So what better time than to pull some of it out and use it. Now the theme is anything goes, but with a twist on friendship. My 4x3 card, butterfly, flower, the tiny heart, and the "writing" stamp is from My Creative Time. The leaves is a SU die. I also used my homemade enamel dots and a very old metallic gel pen from Creative Memories. My sentiment is from a Cardz TV Stamp set. All papers are snippets from my snippet drawers. I did use a viva pearl pen on the butterflies body but it all ran together. Dang it! Oh well, it wouldn't be a project of mine if I didn't mess something up on it! lol I hope you will go over and check out Miss Darnell's blog and maybe play along too! It's gonna be fun!! As always I want to thank you for stopping by and visiting me for a spell on this glorious day. It's always great getting visitors, especially ones as sweet as you all! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Bloom Where Your Planted

Hi my crafty friends, I hope this Friday finds you happy and ready to face the weekend! Our sun is back out after a thunder boomer this afternoon. It's nice to see the sun after a week of not seeing it!!  I hope you are also ready for Father's Day. I am not however and have no clue what I will do for my son's other than a card. The ones that live near by I make a home bake goody for, so I will have to get busy on that on Saturday after I get my hair cut. And I only have 2 out of 4 cards made! Yes, it was a bad week for me. But I hope to finish the cards today and maybe slip out and get my hubby something from me.

This card was inspired by Carol over at Just me C by this card. Carol makes the most amazing cards and I'm such a big fan of her. I wish my card would have came out better, it didn't even come out like I envisioned it. lol You win some and you lose some, it seems I lose a lot of them. lol But it is still a colorful card if nothing else and I will most likely use it for one of my granddaughters in the future. My flower is from MCT called Build a Pretty Flower stamp set and I actually won this set. My postage stamp frame is also MCT and it is called Stitched Postage Frame die and my sentiment is from MCT as well and it is called Shine Bright stamp set. Some home made enamel dots, the words in the flower came from different sets from My Pink Stamper and are no longer available. I embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder. My frame paper is just some snippets from my snippet drawer. And that is it. It was a simple card although not as sweet as Carol's, but I can live with that. lol

Thanks for stopping by today and visiting a spell, you know how much it means to me when you stop by! I hope you have a fabulous weekend with your amazing father's!!! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Entering this card at Darnell's advice, lol, at Time Out Challenges with the theme being "summer with the optional twist of flowers".  Thanks Darnell!!

Graduation

Hello my crafty friends, I know it has been a long while since I've posted. It's been a busy end of May and beginning June. But I have some things to share with you. First off I will share some pictures of my "baby" graduate.  This post will get pic heavy so please bare with me if you would. I'm a proud momma and just want to show off my baby. lol Then  I will have some crafty pictures for you as well.

I wanted some pictures of my baby before he left for the school.

Walking across the stage to get his diploma

 Proud Mom and Dad

 Brother #4 and Brother #2

The banner I made him. It is view-able from both sides. This side has rosettes and the other side doesn't. His name hang below but the wind kept it blowing so the letters where twirling.

The table ware, I made pockets with my envie punch board and place the napkin, the fork and the spoon in it so all everyone had to do is grab the whole pocket.

I took a tuna can and placed these sentiments in it. Nothing fancy, just a little decoration.

This is a can also that I just covers and decorated a little. Placed a store bought decoration in it.

Same for this can. Nothing fancy.

My son's manager at our local movie house also bakes cakes. So I had her make his grad cake.

This is the envie pocket for the tableware.

I hope I didn't bore you too much!!! Now hopefully I will get back on track with my crafting. Mowing the grass takes up much of my time and then of course I am all ready to get into the pool after mowing. lol But it will have to warm up a little more before I do. Mowing takes a lot out of me and I am mowing every 2 days. I love mowing but I can tell it is getting a little harder on me each year. And most of it is the heat. We don't haven't had high temps but it has been really humid and tropical. Today we did get to 94 and I almost got in the pool when I was done mowing, but there was still some spiders in there from opening the pool. Hubby got them out this evening for me and now I'm good to go. lol I don't mind spiders in the grass and such, but don't want them swimming with me!  As always thank you for stopping by and sittin' a spell with me. I always love when you stop by and I love your sweet comments. Crafty hugs, Brenda
