Rudolph Day's Challenge

Hello crafty friends, I'm back with a card to join in with Rudolph Day's Challenge. I would love to be able to join in each month-that usually doesn't happen. But I am going to try to do that this year. Good luck to me! This card is a complete CAS of a card I saw in Instagram. I totally fell in love with it, the color combo, the design, everything about it! So I dug in my stash to see what I had that would work and found items that I thought would work great even though it wasn't the same supplies as the maker used. I sure wish I could remember who it was that made this card. It was a company, but which one I just can't remember to even look it up on Instagram. If I remember, I will come back and edit this post and put a link in. I know it is one of the more popular companies. Since I made 32 of these, I did it in an assembly line production. So I cut all my mats, then stamped all my snowflakes on the mats, then die cut all the "j's", then all the "o's", then all the "y's" and then the deer. Then glued down all the mats, then the lettering and then the deer. So now I have 32 Christmas cards for my stash! Why 32 you ask? Well, that was how many card bases I had cut and ready. lol Now I've got to cut more card bases.

As always, I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to stop by and visit me. You are so appreciated and hopefully I will be by to see you too soon!

Masculine Birthday Cards

Hello crafty friends, I had to make a birthday card for Bret, he turned 24 on Friday. So I made twofer's. Why not while I was cutting, might as well make two. All of the plaids are scraps, so I can go play at the Snippet's Playground. Yay!!!  Edited to add that Liz told me about Crafty Calendar Challenge is having a challenge with a tag on your card. So linking up with them as well.

I decided to go a little different this time with Bret's birthday card. Usually I do a sports card for him, but this year I decided to do a flannel shirt card. lol Saw one on pinterest and so I CASed it. Didn't have any directions, but I just winged it with my cuts the best I could. I think they both turned out cute and make a great masculine card. The one collar is longer than the other one, that is because I was using scraps and just went with what I had. I think both look good, but think the shorter collar is my favorite. Added a tag to the pocket and called it done. Gave Bret one and tucked the other one in my stash. Trying to add to my stash of birthday cards!

As always, thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to stop by and visit me! I appreciate you all more than you know. If I haven't been by your blog in a while, I will be soon. Thanks for hanging in here with me and my sporadic postings and visiting. It won't always be like this, at least I hope not! lol

CAS Christmas Card Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, yes a second post! Trying to get some challenges in this weekend. And I also wanted to finish off my trip post of Waco. I really would like to get more Christmas cards made this year but will see how that goes. I'd also like to play in more challenges....again, we will see how that goes since my track record isn't to good.

So the CAS Christmas Card challenge for this month is using a tag on your card. Not sure if I'm stretching the tag thing or not here. But to me it is a tag....ish. lol This is an unbranded NBUS die and I had a piece of smooshed water color in my stash and used it to place behind. Remember stickles??? Well, I stickled this tag with an inch of it's life. lol I like it and I enjoyed using stickles again. Been a while. Did a little dry embossing as well for my background.  That's it....a very quick and CAS card for the challenge.

Wanted to share the last leg of our trip which was Waco, TX. Such a great place to go. So much to see and do. You have the Dr. Pepper Museum-we didn't get there though :-(, the TX Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, the suspension bridge which I believe back in the day they drove long horn cattle over or something to that effect, Cameron Park Zoo-a beautiful park and zoo they say, and many other places to see and do as well as the Gain's Magnolia stuff which was amazing. We didn't get to do the other stuff, just the Magnolia stuff as we weren't there that long. I would have loved to have stayed longer. Maybe another time...So here are some photo's from this amazing place.

Clint's shop or used to be. Now it is a place to shop at. His house, remodeled by Chip and Jo, was next door as you will see in the next photo but because he got so famous from working with Chip and Joanna, they had to move to another home as they got no peace, same with his business.

Clint's old house that was remodeled by Chip and Joanne, Clint made the front door himself.

Jimmy Don's shopping area. We were supposed to met him, but he got held up. We were asked a question about him and I knew the answer, so I won a TX shaped metal piece with Waco cut out of it and a nice pretty stacked peddle metal flower that was a magnet. I couldn't believe it!

The truck that they sell Jimmy Don's metal signs out of.

Anyone remember the show where they found, moved and remodeled the "Shot Gun" house? This is it!

Down at Magnolia, boy did we have fun shopping and looking around there!

A view of the silo's from under the picnic area

 Rest and sweet tea time

Inside the bakery, oh boy were those cupcakes so yummy!!!

Last but not least, this is a house that Elvis Presley would stay at when he was at Fort Hood. At first we were told that he lived there, but this home was owned by a friend of his. Elvis would come and stay there or just visit. The owners would cook for Elvis and have cookouts as well. They even gave him his own room. The owner's daughter had a piano but Elvis kinda' took the piano over. lol  The family (the adult children) now rent it out as a tourist place to stay.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these photo's. There were so many other photo's but thought this was enough. lol We had such a wonderful time on this trip to Nashville, Memphis TN as well as Waco TX. These are places I would love to go to again some day. I would recommend any of these cities as there is much to do and see in all three of them. Each one was unique and just plain fun.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to visit me and see what I'm up to. I know two posts in a days time was a lot for me and I know I need to get to visiting myself and I hope to later on today. Have some chores I want to get to before the weekend is over and Bret is back at work and I have the dogs all day long till evening. But hope to get back to some of you tonight.

Twofer Challenge and finally a post!

Hello my crafty friends, I can't believe it is has been since November since I've posted. I said it would be sporadic and boy, that is what it is! Christmas has come and gone, although I still have Christmas to have with two sets of family. So much has been going on from the loss of my Sister-In-Law's father. to dogs keeping me busy, to Bret's overnight business trips and us going away. We spent Christmas in Virginia and the weather was amazing. High 60's and 70 degrees. We let the dogs run outside and tire themselves out some and they loved that. Maverick is coming along pretty good, but still have to keep a good eye on him as he won't ask to go potty, but instead sits by the door and if I don't see him, then he will have an accident. Another problem we are having with him is food aggression. He doesn't like the girls to come near his food, but he won't fight Savannah-she is to big to take on, but will attack Kahlua. Most of the time, Kahlua is with her own food dish and Maverick thinks that should be his too. And it isn't all the time that he attacks her. No rhythm or reason's except that food is always involved and it's not every time they eat. So I am working with him on that one! It upsets me so much when he attacks Kahlua as her nerves are on edge now even more. She is a nervous dog to begin with. So think she needs some anxiety meds even more. I pray that Maverick grows out of this bad habit, with the help of me trying to teach him not to be this way. We have come a long way, but still have a ways to go!

Anyway, these "kids" keep me hopping! I was told they see why I don't get anything done as I'm always up and tending to dogs. Yep, about right. But Bret is was home this past Saturday and Sunday, so I took advantage of that and was able to make a few cards to enter in some challenges. So lets get on with it!

This is for the Twofer Challenge that Auntie Darnell hosts on the 10th of each month, ending on the 24th. You make two cards with two different designs for two different occasions using the same stamps, dies or stencils. Get it? It is also the Twofer's 2nd Blogaversary! Happy Blogaversary!!!! How fun is that?! I hope it continues to grow in participants and there are many more years of the Twofer Challenge!

Here are my twofer's using hearts. Nothing special, had to do them in quick fashion so they are quick and CAS! But I am fairly happy with them. I did mess up with my one heart on the first row, go figure, but decided not to waste it and keep going. Hopefully the eye isn't drawn in to much to my boo boo.

stamped a rainbow of hearts and added a sentiment

using the same heart stamp, I added a few hearts to this sentiment

So there are my two very quick and CAS cards for the Twofer challenge. I know, really CAS, but I got the job done. I know I haven't been around to comment at all in a while. Hoping to soon, but keeping so busy with the dogs and getting out some and seeing some movies. But I will definitely try and do some commenting here soon. As always I thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit me and seeing what I'm up too. You are appreciated more than you know!
