For My Sweet Friend

Hello my sweet crafty friends, I hope all my American crafty friends enjoyed a nice 4th of July. It was a laid back one here. Bret and the pups came over in the afternoon, so we hung out at the pool for a few hours. Then Bret grilled some burgers and hot dogs. Just a nice afternoon/evening. Until dark that is. The "home" fireworks" began and Savannah couldn't find a spot small enough for her to hid in that was on top of me. I was glad when the ruckus was over so she could settle down.  Not sure how she is so ferocious over critters and some people, but is so scare of a the noises of fireworks and thunderstorms. But she is. Storms aren't as bad as the fireworks though thankfully.

I have a birthday card to share today. I have seen Loll, over at (Stamping with Loll, cut her mat paper in such a way that it fits onto her card base wonky. I really like that look, so decided I would give it a go.  I am fairly pleased with how my card came out. Stamped, die cut and colored my flowers. Most are colored with alcohol ink markers but I think one set of leaves and the red flower (the bright greens ones at the bottom) were colored with Prisma Pencils. Embossed my background, arranged my flowers and leaves and placed my sentiment strip down and called it done.

As always, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and visit with me a spell. I always enjoy when you stop by and your comments are always a ray of sunshine to me. If I've not been by to visit you, I should be by soon!

A Macaron Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying summer. Boy summer is flying by at warp speed though! Why does summer fly by so fast, but winter drags by? Well, lets not think about winter! That will be here soon enough I'm afraid.

I have a birthday card that I made with a stamp set a friend gifted me with. Thank you sweet friend, you know who you are! I've had it for quite a while and just now used it, so it is a NBUS set! I need to play with it a bit more as it has a cake pop in it too. Have you ever had a macaron?? I never have had one, so have no clue as to what they taste like. It was fun to color even though I'm not great at coloring with alcohol markers, I do enjoy doing it. I enjoy coloring using markers or colored pencils, it's so relaxing to me. I had a panel of smooshed DI background in my stash, so used it to cut a frame for my macaron's to sit in. I wished I would have cut the frame in white and placed the macarons on the smooshed panel instead, but I didn't. I stacked my macaron by using a stamped cut out mask, which I rarely do...so I was pretty pleased with my stack of macarons! Embossed a background and stamped my sentiment. It is what it is. My mojo hasn't been great, but then again, it never was all that great to begin with! Still a cute card for me and I am decently pleased with it.

I am behind with commenting once again, summer is always a busy time between mowing, getting out and about and taking Savannah out to play ball several times a day and watching Bret's dogs when he has business trips. Today is too hot to go out and play ball and Savannah is not a happy camper. She is relentless about going out! But I am starting to make my way around slowly but surely. As always thank you for taking time from your busy life to visit me! I enjoy when you stop, you make my day! Hopefully I will be by to see you soon too.

Crafty hugs,
