First Craft Since July 7th

Hello my crafty friends, I hope your hump day is off to a good start. I'm still riding the struggle bus here, but I have noticed that my leg/knee is getting stronger as it no longer trembles when I drive and have to hold the brake. Now I just need to get the inflammation out. I try and go without meds, but there are times when they just have to be taken to be able to move. Such as life!

Anyway, I am trying to get motivated again with getting crafty. So I decided I would spruce up my Kindle faux leather cover with some HTV. The front and back is where I placed the HTV, the inside cover I just used adhesive back vinyl so I can take it off if I want too. I love how it turned out as I've loved books since 4th grade when I found out I could escape my abusive life through books. I used to could watch a movie and read a book at the same time and know what was going on in both, that sadly isn't the case anymore! But I still love reading so thought my Kindle Cover should show it. Front and back cover are premade designs in my Design Space, the inside cover is from another place. Edited to add that I still love physical books and do read them too. My Kindle goes on trips with me and out to the pool because it is waterproof, a wet swimsuit doesn't hurt it or floating in the pool on my float I don't have to worry about wetting the "pages". I also collect certain physical books, mainly ones on Elvis Presley since I'm a big fan of the man, not just the performer. But I have some favorites that I just can't get rid of. Other's I pass on to other people or put in a book share place.

Front Cover, put my name in gold foil.

Hoping to work on a challenge card next. Having a hard time jump starting my leg and mojo! lol As always I want to thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to visit with me. I appreciate you and your sweet comments. They truly make my day! If I haven't been by, I will be by before long. Enjoy your week, we've had glorious weather but today it is humid and hot but not supposed to stay.

Crafty hugs,

My Kindle cover never looked this cute! You amaze me, Brenda! WHO KNEW?? YOU!
I kicked and fought against e-books, even longer than I fought that foiling! lol But now, I love it - and no more dusty books! However, I still love a library. I'm so glad you had your books, Brenda. xx

I could have written that part about reading and watching TV and knowing what was going on! That no longer happens here either. This book cover is just the bomb for a reader. I love the texture and how cute you made it. I still can't give up my books and am a faithful library patron. It takes time to build up your strength and mobility so don't be discouraged. One day at a time.

What a great way to spruce up your Kindle cover, Brenda! I love my Kindle because I can read the print. Some books have such small print unless I can get the large print from the library. Still love turning the page though!

WOW!!! What amazing covers Brenda!! These are absolutely fabulous. You may not be too mobile yet, but your mojo is certainly working well! Love these.
I too love my books. Although I don't own a kindle, I can see the advantages of them.
Stay safe

I love books and reading too! Love my kindle though as it means I can read in bed without the light on when I can’t sleep. I’m afraid my cover is plain though!

Hi Brenda

More fantastic creativeness from you .. .. I love what you have created here.

I wouldn't have the foggiest idea where to start!

My Son and his wife love their books .. .. I sometimes think they could open their own library .. .. but they are very particular with them and both only open the book the very minimum amount possible because they don't want to crack the spine!

They do read on-line books too .. .. but that is mainly when they are away from home. Their covers are not this posh though!

Love how you turn your hand to lots of crafty projects.

Love Jules xx

I never used a kindle, but do enjoy reading books. I'm currently reading one now when I find time. This is a great idea and a great design and I'm glad you can take it with you anywhere. Sorry that knee just hasn't bounced back as quickly and as strongly as you hoped, but each day of progress is encouraging. Any injury these days takes months for me to recover from since I'm so ancient now LOL Gotta keep putting one foot in front of the other and we'll make it! Take good care of yourself and I do hope that storm system missed you last night. It completely missed us and I'm VERY grateful for that! Hugs!!

What a fabulous cover! I'm looking at my plain NOOK and wondering if I could do that too. My Nook was a hand me down from my daughter...She got a new reader and gave me her old one. I really do like it.... But I won't give up on my regular paper books. I buy them at a used book store and with all the credit I have...I can still get them cheaper there than on my e reader.

You are one clever lady, I LOVE your Kindle cover, mine is black. I hadn't thought of "owning it". What a wonderful and beautifully done idea Brenda.
I'm so glad you are up and about, a few painkillers for the time being until you are fully well, should be OK.
Will contact soon.

What a creative idea to 'decorate' your kindle Brenda. The sentiments are perfect x. Yes it does take time to build up your knee/leg again but it will get stronger Brenda x. The pool and exercises would be good and of course reading on your float....lol x. Sending hugs x.

Glad to hear you leg is getting better. Love your Kindle book cover. I haven't felt like crafting lately either. I only mad one card and that is for my sister whose birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks.
