Rudolph Days

Hello my crafty friends, I'm slipping in at the last minute to play along over at the Rudolph challenge. It closes tonight, so I am cutting it short! It is also my first project of 2022.

I made a mini slimline card, it turned out to be a "make a fuss" card and took longer to make than I would have liked. I will be using this image again because I love it, but won't be coloring it all in again. lol It's a larger stamp, but all the pieces are tiny to color. So my little scene is of a town in the "Burbs", with the big city behind it at dusk. I didn't get my sky right, but I can live with it and will try a dusk sky again sometime. All my little stores are open, lights on and ready for Christmas shoppers, even the Post Office is open for those last minute packages that need to get sent out. lol Wish that happened in real life! I embossed with black embossing powder and then colored in with just regular markers. Fussy cut out my image and laid it on my DIO background. I wanted to put faux snow on the snow areas, but they are tiny and the tip of the snow bottle just wasn't fine enough-plus the snow is thick. So I used Stickles instead. Tried getting a photo of the sparkle, but it didn't really turned out in the second photo. I did enjoy the mini slimline size card, so definitely want to try making some more again. Never made mini slimline cards before, just the regular slimline, and that was years ago.

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting with me again. I so appreciate you all and your comments brings so much joy to me. If I haven't been by to see you, I hope to be by soon.

I got my first shingles shot and boy did it kick my butt! Even the Covid vaccines didn't bother me like this shingles shot did. It kicked my butt for several days, stirring up my Lupus big time. I hope the second one goes better! Bret is getting his things declutter and packed. Moving furniture on Wednesday! I am looking forward to seeing his "new to him" home. I am hoping to be able to share some photos soon.

Stay warm if it is cold in your neck of the woods and I pray everyone is staying well.

Crafty Hugs,

Hi Brenda,
Happy Rudolf Days.
Oh your cards look marvellous and I can well see the amount of time you had to put into those colourings the skies look aamazing and so colourful too.
What a wonderful American scene and details of the shops with the sky scapers in the background as well.
Glitter on cards is always hard to get a good photograph of, I bet they look stunning in real life with the glitter.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT

Oh my goodness, what a fantastic card! As if the coloring wasn't time consuming enough, you actually fussy cut this image too?! Wow, you have the patience of a saint! The sentiment is awesome and so is that night sky you created! I'm awed by this great little slimline card, just WOW! Sorry your shot bothered you, but hopefully things will sort themselves out soon and you'll be feeling chipper again soon! Take care. and big hugs too!

What a fantastic Wintery/Christmas scene and so worth the effort with all the colouring Brenda x.
I think the sky is so atmospheric and works fabulously with the dark skyline and the fantastic bright 'open' shops x. Yes wouldn't it be great for the post office to adjust it's opening times during the Christmas season? I love this mini slimline card Brenda x.
Sorry about the effects of your shingles shot Brenda x.

Brenda this is such a sweet small town in the city scene! the detail on that stamp is incredible - I have no problem imagining the sparkle of your added stickle-snow.
I've resisted that vaccine - I hope I don't regret it!
Take care of yourself, my friend!

What a pretty village within view of the city, Brenda! I think you did a great job on the sky! I got the first shingles vaccine but didn't bite on this one. I'm hoping the first one will hold me.

That skyline is beautiful. You did a fantastic job of the cityscape background. Loving the fussy cut shops and coloring. I almost feel you could walk down the street and do some window shopping. Excellent!

Stay safe. Hugs and Blessings.

What an amazing card Brenda, beautiful colouring and i can see why you say never again hahahaha. I had my shingles a few years ago, I can't remember having any side affects? I hope you're feeling better? Especially with the Lupus bout. Wishing Bret well in his new home. He must be excited and a little afraid?
Keep safe and well.
Hugs

I really love your cityscape and skyline, Brenda! I can't stop enjoying all the details and imagining myself there, away from the big city, enjoying the quaint stores. I'm so sorry that the shingles vaccine whooped your behind. The same thing happened to Kevin, but he doesn't have Lupus, so I'm sure it hit you hard. Feel better and good luck with the second shot. Hugs, Auntie
