CAS Christmas Card

Hello  my crafty friends, I hope you are all doing well. We got some more snow, but it was a very wet snow, so it made the trees look so pretty and it melted pretty quickly on the roads/driveways/walkways. My kind of snow! Friday I got my first dose of the vaccine for Covid. No side effects except it felt like I had a bruise where they injected me but that went away fairly quickly, by the next day. And I didn't notice it unless I touched that area. So all in all it went very well. I know the vaccine isn't for everyone, especially people who have issues with being allergic to a lot of meds and such. But for me, I don't experience any allergies to meds and such, so it was a no brainer. I think those of us who don't have allergy related issues need to get the vaccine for those who do have allergies. Once we can get herd immunity across the world that should help those who can't get the vaccine because we won't be spreading the virus anymore....at least that is my hope and right now, hope is all we got along with the Lord.

I decided to play in the CAS Christmas Card Challenge for this month to help build my stash. The theme for this month is dogs or cats. Well, I am a dog lover for sure. Not to say I don't like cats, but not as much as a dog. So I went with a dog. Pretty simple card, so not much to tell you. I just stamped my images (dog and Santa hat on watercolor snippet paper and home, trees and Santa/reindeer on a snippet of white) cut out with a rectangular die to the size I was looking for, and popped my doggy up on a pop dot on his bottom and glued the top of his head to my scene because of the layers. I thought this turned out pretty cute and am pleased for once! lol So I made three of them to add to my stash. Edited to add: I am going to play at the Snippet's Playground in memory of Ruby.

As always I thank you for taking time from your busy day to stop by and visit with me for a spell. I always appreciate your visits as well as your comments, they always put a dance in my step! I will be by to visit you as well. Take care, stay safe and healthy!

Crafty hugs,

AW! Brenda this is the cutest pup, love how you coloured him and the scene in the background is just perfect for him, with the red layer I LOVE this card and it's sparkle. The fact you made 3 is wonderful and good start to the Christmas season :) Good to hear that all is well with you after the jab. Good to hear too that your snow isn't the heavyweight kind, at least you can get around (if you can) in the kind you have.
Keep safe
Faith x

Lovely card Brenda :) We're still on the wait to get the vaccine here, we are on our Drs. list and my place of work is trying to get it available for us at work as a group if we want it and man I sure do want it so does Dave :)

Oh Brenda, My lovely friend. What a cute card and how lovely of you to come back and play with us in the Snippets playground! Your pooch looks so much like a cross between Ruby and Dudley! Really sweet card.

I've seen the newspaper article about the 'breeders' who Ruby was rescued from. I didn't add all the details in my blog post but they were prosecuted, banned from having dogs for a number of years and I think one even went to jail - which is pretty serious stuff, sadly, for animal cruelty here in the UK. It seems that Ruby and her siblings (puppies) were sheltering underneath a propped up doorway as their only protection from the elements.

It would be super for you to donate a prize for Ruby's Challenge - you don't need to post it though. A photo and some details would be great just in case the winner is based in the USA. Then you could save on postage!

Love

Di xx

What a sweet little pooch on your card and I love all the stickles too! He looks adorable in front of Santa flying in the sky! Too cute! I'm so glad you had no reaction to the vaccine and I hope you continue feeling well after the 2nd one too. Stay healthy and warm - more snow is on the way for us tomorrow AND Thursday and we just had a lot of it yesterday like you did! Heavy wet snow that melted quickly with bitter cold temps today! Brrrr!

That is such a cute pup, Brenda and he looks quite at home sitting in front of the pretty village scene you created. Love his sparkly Santa hat too. I'm glad you had no adverse effects from the vaccine. I had my first dose yesterday and I'm fine too. I do agree about having the vaccine if you can - so important for the wellbeing of everyone.
Stay well and have a good weekend.

Well duffer here lost first comment so so will try again... love the wee pup peeking out there, the glitter just makes it extra cute.. love that you’re playing in memory of Ruby too ...looks a little like her.

Well done on first jab, I get reactions so praying whether get it especially as not bad here in Oz. Will see who things go as they roll out. Know of two folks one with not really great Pfizer reaction and one a very bad reaction to Astrazenegar.

Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x
