Finally Back With a Project!

Hello crafty friends, long time no blog! It has been a struggle for me since the Friday of Memorial weekend. I had a fall that broke front ribs and back ribs. Was out of commission for quite a while. Bret took a family emergency day that Friday morning as it happened before he left for work. Since it was a long weekend for him, I was hoping I would be ok once he went back to work on Tuesday. When Tuesday came around, it was plain to see that I wasn't going to be able to care for the dogs. So he worked from home the whole week. So thankful for him and his job that he was able to work from home. He was going to take vacation days instead and then decided to just work from home. So he took care of the dogs and me, cause it hurt to just to sit, and definitely move. Now I'm doing so much better, but sure took a long time to heal. I can still feel a back rib, especially when I lay down in bed or turn a certain way and a front rib will bother me from time to time. So still have a way to go. I might not ever be back to normal though, broke these ribs to many times. 5 times total, 4 times in the last two years. If I don't start being more careful, it will be a walker for me! And I don't want that, not at the age of 59!

Anyway, I did a little crafting. Some before my fall and some just the other day. Sharing the cute mason jar tissue holders that I have made today. I have made 5 of them so far, two have already been given away and I forgot to get photo's of them. But I have the other three. Just used some chalk spray paint and a black spray paint on some of the lids, not all of them though. Kept some the gold color and just wrapped twine on the gold lids that I got  from the Dollar Tree. Then using my Cricut and some black vinyl, put my design on. I am making more of them, spray painting when it isn't to windy outside. These make cute gifts and a great little hostess gift. I love making them! I have been sticking to a white/black/gold color combo because I figure they will go with any color of decor, but they would be so pretty in other colors of chalk paint as well. These have been hugely popular all over blogland and Pinterest. So far they have been well received as gifts as well.

Now if you are squeamish, don't look at these photos of my fall. I will leave you with my lovely bruised body of the day of the fall, it got uglier and took a month for the bruising to leave. But it was the ribs that was the worst for wear!

Card Recipe:

Oh my goodness Brenda, you really got bruised up. That had to be so painful for you and I'm glad you are starting to come back from it. I am worried about why you keep breaking ribs, are you falling? Maybe a walker wouldn't be a bad idea when you are inside the house so you are more stable. Those jars are terrific. They are wonderful gifts and also great home decor. I'm glad to see you crafting again. Be CAREFUL getting around and don't fall over the dogs. Molly will stop right in front of me and I almost fall over her.

That must've been such a heavy, serious fall, Brenda ... no wonder you weren't able to do very much at all ... thank God for Bret and his care. Do hope that you'll continue to recover well ... prayers coming your way that you will. Your tissue mason jars are lovely ... so stylish ... they look as though they should be in a boutique store! Oh, no! I'm so sorry to hear you fell and were hurt so bad, Brenda! I'm glad you are recovering but know it must still be painful to do some things. Be extra careful not to fall again.

I'm happy to learn you're recovering from you broken ribs and beginning to feel better enough to get back to crafting! Life certainly has it's little twists and turns for us doesn't it? Just when you think you're fine again, someone yanks the rug out from beneath you! Get well soon my friend, you need to let those ribs heal and get strong again!
Love love love these pretty jars! What a great way to recycle jars too and I love how you put your own personal design on each one! I'm so happy you're able to work on crafts again too! Take good care now and stay cool inside! We're in for some wicked weather again in the next few days, so be safe!

LOVE your jars - can't imagine how you still have ANY left at all, thanks for sharing. I'm still here imagining how those tissues are in there - only one way I can think of - do you take them out of one of those square tissue boxes?
I do not love that you've fallen again, Brenda. I'm seriously worried about this happening so often. Please take care of yourself!!
Hugs, love, and prayers heading your way!

OMG! Sorry to hear about your fall and broken ribs. You might want to consider using a walker sometimes if it prevents you from falling so much. I love, love, love your jars!
Have a great day!

The pictures are hard to look at again, but it's so nice to see you pop up in my mailbox, Brenda! Those tissue holders are terrific! Really really clever and something I've never seen before. I hope you are feeling better every day and I'm keeping you in my prayers ~ and thanking God for Bret! I wish you would use a walker when you are doing whatever you are doing when you fall, like getting up in the night ... just keep it by the bed, that sort of thing. I'm sure you agree after this long and painful recovery!! Love and hugs, Auntie

Oh my Brenda, you had such a bad time! The pictures show how sore you must have been and there is nothing to do but wait for everything to heal! Still, I'm glad Brett was able to care for you and the dogs whilst got over the worst. On a nicer note, it's good to see you back again and I absolutely love these gorgeous tissue holders. I am certainly going to give these a try myself over the summer if time cooperates and stops whizzing by so fast. How do you arrange the tissues inside so they pop up?
Take care.
Hugs

Oh Brenda, your bruises look so painful. That is one nasty fall that you took. I hope the ribs continue to heal and that you won't be feeling the pain too much longer. So thankful Bret's job is flexible and he was able to be there for you and look after the dogs. Rest up, my friend!

Happy that you were up to working on your tissue holders. They are fabulous!! Great work! xx
