Christmas Banner and a Good Bye

Hello Cardz TV Gallery friends, Brenda here from Friends Crafting with Friend and it is my turn to share a project with you. It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that this will be my last post for Mary's Gallery DT. It has been a struggle to create since the passing of my beloved husband and I just don't feel I'm giving a 100% to my DT projects anymore. I think I just need to focus on getting some scrapping done of my late husband so I can heal some and decide who I am without him. Sounds weird I know, but how I am feeling right now. Also my German Shepard, Savannah is keeping me very busy as well. I've never owned a big dog before and she isn't like my sweet little Pockets, who I had to have put down as well. Anyway, I hope to come back and design for Mary one day, but who really knows what God has in store for me. I hope I continue to do some crafting in some form, but one never knows. Right now, I'm just going to focus on getting crafty in my scrapbooking and gifts. It's been a pleasure and honor designing for you Mary, I will miss you and the design team very much!! I plan to keep up with both blogs as well cause I don't want to miss anything. Mary, you are awesome and I thank you for having me as a designer!!!!

Now that that is out the way, lets move onto my last project for the Gallery. I did a banner for my bathroom. I had a cute little one before that I hung at the bottom of my mirror, but over time (many years) it got wet and such, so I finally trashed it and decided to make another. This one I hung up high so water wouldn't be an issue. I'm sorry for the pictures, hard to get a good photo in the bathroom!!! The recipe is on my blog if you are interested. The Cardz TV stamp sets I used are: Glad Tidings and Merry Everything and you can find them here

Here is my banner before I put the gems on the letters.

With the gems and hanging on my bathroom mirror, up close.

Trying to get a pic of the whole mirror, didn't quite get it.

A better view

Wow what an amazing last post for your DT it's truly awesome, I love this banner so very clever. And love the fact that our Lord is lifted up on it and put where He should be first and forefront.

What a blessing it is think He came as a wee babe for us and all who truly BELIEVE! Thank You, Lord Jesus!

I understand your needing to take a step in a new direction and save all of your precious memories in your scrapbooks. It's a healing thing to get those memories in books so you can reflect on them through the years every time you open the books. Life has pushed you into a different path and I think it will help you deal with your loss in a cherished and beautiful way. Savannah needs lots of attention now too, so you and she will be great companions. Your banner is beautiful but I'd never attempt to hang anything that high for fear of falling! It's beautiful though, and I'm sure your DT is surely going to miss your contributions as you step down. Stay well, keep yourself busy, and just enjoy life as it comes. There are always things to be thankful for :) Sending ((hugs))

Mary your banner is exquisite - love your gems on the letters and the life giving sentiments above the them.
I can understand what you are saying - grief is not an easy journey, even if it started before your beloved died - and it will remain part of your life to some degree or another.
I too have just started the journey as my DH has been diagnosed with an untreatable cancer...
Blessings

Super cute banner and love the messages on each letter too, so festive for this time of the year. Totally get you about the DT spot, sometimes we need to back away to heal, and I love that your considering scrapping your husband to heal :) I think this is an amazing way to heal, to reminisce, to cry and to love the best way to heal. Hugs and prayers my friend and a blessed holiday with family and friends too. Tina

Your banner is just fabulous and go you for decorating even your bathroom! I feel like a bit of a Humbug with how little I've decorated the house this year. Everything looks very festive at your home!

I understand that you want to focus on scrapping about your beloved hubby, Brenda, but you and your wonderful creations will be missed dearly in Blogland until you feel the call to return to posting. I hope you will still be able to visit blogs and keep in touch with me via email. I wish you blessings in the new year and lots of love and companionship with your sweet Savannah! Love and hugs, Darnell

What a fantastic banner with bling. Your bathroom looks great. I totally understand what you are saying. It has been a year of adjustments for me too and it takes as long as it takes. I think scrapbooking about your hubby will be a wonderful tribute to him and something for your sons to look at when they are there as well as the grandchildren. Those will be sweet memories for all of you. Bless you my friend.

A fabulous banner, Brenda ... the quotes are wonderful and the bling adds so much pizazz to it! It must have been hard for you to have reached the decision to step back for a while ... but if it feels right for you just now, that's exactly the way to go. I do hope that scrapbooking about your beloved Dwayne will help you to see your path for the future ... it will certainly be wonderful for your sons and grandchildren to have such a treasure for always. I'll look forward to seeing you in blogland when you're ready, my friend. Have a blessed Christmas and a joyful 2017! Hugs, Anita :)

It's a beautiful banner to decorate your pretty bathroom (which I enjoyed seeing that as well) A perfect sentiment for where you are just now in Life, and aside from the Merry Christmas, you just keep that sentiment in your heart! I think you will realize who you are, where you need to go, as time passes, and right now you just have to do what makes you happy. Wishing you & B. a very Merry Christmas, hoping this one will be a bit easier than last year's was. Stay cozy, warm & safe, and know that I'm thinking of you. Big hugs, Merry Christmas, and many wishes for a great 2017. Pats to Miss S. too. TFS & Hugs

Totally understand about the need to drop design teams. You have been through so much, brenda. You need to focus on you and as you say...find yourself and find your new journey in life.

I think scrapbooking your DH is a wonderful start. You will enjoy these creations from the heart that you will make with his (and your) memories.

I hope you will share them with us.

What a delightful banner Brenda and it looks gorgeous in the bathroom - a place that I have to confess doesn't ever see a decoration in our house!I'll have to rethink that after seeing how good this looks! I know you feel sad to be stepping down from the team but I believe you are right to spend some time on healing right now and there will be plenty of time to come back in the future when you feel up to it. I wish you, the family and Savannah a healthy, happy and crafty New Year.
