Rudolph Days

Hello my crafty friends! I know I've been MIA for a while now. I have made a few cards but haven't photographed them yet to post them. Of course it is summer and I love being outside and not inside as well too. And this week I am elderly sitting with an 88 year old lady. But while she was at day care, I made a card for Rudolph Days. On the 25th of each month Maureen hosts Rudolph Days (goes until the end of the month) so you can get your stash built up in time for Christmas. My card didn't turn out as I envisioned it would, nothing new there! I should have die cut 3 little hats and turned my card base the other way. Oh well, it is what it is.  But I'm posting it anyway. lol I'm not at home, so might not know the names of the products I used, but will edit when I am at home then. Ok here is my simple card that I'm linking up at Rudolph Days.  Pat inspired my card with her kraft and red color combo on her card. I love kraft cardstock and I love, love gingham, so I used them both on my card. And since I used snippets on my card with the gingham, gold glitter paper and kraft cardstock I'm entering this in Pixie's Snippet Playground. Been a while since I'm been over to the swings on the playground and I've missed playing along some.

As always thanks for coming by and visiting for a spell, it sure has been hot, but that is where the pool comes in handy for cooling off. Hope you can join me for a dip! Your comments always bring lots of sunshine and happiness to my day, although you are going to have a hard time finding something good to say about this one! lol

Crafty hugs,

I think your card came out good!! Love the Kraft and gingham. Sometimes I feel like you with my cards not liking the way they come out, but we are our worst critic. Have a great day

What better combination could there be, Brenda? OH I love kraft and gingham, too, and believe with all my heart!
I'd do a Nestea Plunge if I were there by your pool!!! Stay cool!

You're too funny Brenda. It's a really cute card. But we card makers are hard on ourselves! Love the hat!

You really are far too hard on yourself Brenda sweet friend! This card is lovely! I LOVE that sweet little Santa hat, the reverse scalloped frame draws the eye into the focal piece and the gingham and sentiment are just perfect! It may not be what you envisioned yourself, but those of us, with no preconceived ideas, LOVE it! Have a lovely day my friend! Hazel xx

What's not to love about this cute card? It's beautifully designed and I love the gingham with kraft! The die cut for the little santa hat looks perfect, as do the dual sentiment panels! I love all the stitching and the scalloped frame which give this a real homespun look and feel! The glittered word "believe" adds the perfect amount of sparkle to make this one shine! Well done!

He's spoiled. :) What a blessing you are to your mature friend~I'm sure you are a delight to hang with this summer, Brenda!

Love the gingham and kraft...looks so pretty & fresh. Like the way the center stitch shape is done too. The little red glittered hat, might be a Memory Box. The GM scallop frame is perfect as is the way you've layered the sentiment. Glad you were able to finish this pretty card in time for Rudy Day. Great snippets card too. TFS & Hugs. MM

My sweet friend: oh, how I adore your sweet kraft-and-gingham card, sporting that lovely sentiment and adorable Santa hat! Incredibly pretty! What a marvelous way to transform snippets into a work of art! What a gem you are for 'elderly sitting'; she's so blessed to have you caring for her. Guaranteed your brighten her days and bring her joy...as you do for me! Thank you for your visits and always sweet, encouraging, genuine comments! I've been MIA in commenting, so a zillion apologies! A flurry of DT or GD obligations, mixed in with bike races. This weekend: three races, all of which involve us driving to the 'big city' about an hour's drive away. The first race wrapped up today: I spent the day in a car following a group of riders for 80 miles. Thankfully, a rather 'uneventful' race...precisely the kind I like! Tomorrow, a steep hill climb race, starting at 6pm which means we'll be home late and then turn around early Monday morning, for criterium races beginning at 8am and running most of the day. Good thing I love my bike race officiating gig *grin* The thunderstorms are getting frustrating, though...one's happening right now! Yikes!
