Grad Button

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a wonder Thursday. It is a grey day around and 32 degrees cooler as well!! How you can sweat buckets one day and be freezing the next day is beyond me. lol But that is this crazy weather for you. Hope it is warm but not hot where you are today. I like perfect weather. lol Not sure where to go to find it, but that's what I like. Me and a million other people, right?!

I have made a little Grad button that I will be wearing tomorrow night at Graduation, and will probably wear it at my son's grad party too and who knows where else. lol I used Accents Essentials Cricut cartridge for my spiky circles. I really wanted the Graduation Cricut cartridge but didn't buy it when it was marked down and now people are selling it at outrageous prices. Lived and learned on that one! But all is ok, as I made what I had work for me.  I cut them out in silver and a maroon cardstock and off set them. I use silver and maroon ribbon as well as some white ribbon. I staples these in between the spiky circles. Then I made a rosette using the MCT stitched rosette dies. Took a wallet sized pic from his grad pictures and made it into a circle using a old My Creative Memories cutter and placed it on my rosette with hot glue. I was going to use vinyl to put his initials, school initials and the year but I have so many letter stickers that I just decided to use those instead, they are My Creative Memories too. This will make it's way into the photo album after I'm done wearing it. That's it! Now all I have to do is wear it! Next is going to be some table decorations and banners. Thanks for stopping by a spell and visiting with me. I really love it when you do stop by especially on a grey day. I appreciate and love all your comments and offers of help when I need it. Karen, I am so looking forward to your tutorials on water color next month!! Crafty hugs to you all, Brenda

What an absolutely fabulous idea, Brenda, to create a grad button in honour of your son's accomplishments! I can just picture the pride, joy and beaming smile that you'll add to accessorize it! Thoughtful and heart-warming in every way! I'm excited to see the banners and table decorations when you have a chance to share them. Your days must be ever-so-filled with party preparation...hectic, but worth every investment of time and energy! How awesome you are to make your lad's graduation nothing short of memorable and amazing! You're an A+++++ mom!! Lots of hugs (wish I lived closer so I could help out...) ~c

What an awesome grad project Your son looks so handsome. The colors and the rosette are so nice. It is nice you could keep it masculine looking even with the Rosette-- and you just wear that ribbon all year if you want!!!
Thank you for joining DTC “Graduation challenge this week. Have a blessed day

You must have been shining at your son's graduation when you wore this button! Your son had to feel that special Mom's love when you were wearing this, and he can treasure it forever once it's in the scrapbook! It's a moment in his life he'll always treasure through the years! Congratulations on your baby's graduation - you've done a great job as a Mom :)

Happy June 1, wonderful Brenda! Yes, yes and yes: I did order from MCT. Tried to resist (kind of...*grin*), but figured that was pointless! I ordered a couple of oldies - the typewriter and round speech bubble dies - and from the new set: fun circles, butterflies and dragonfly (of course!!), anchors and hearts, build a scripty and watercolour, and stripy background. Super excited...but I won't see them for at least 3 weeks, as that's how long shipping takes to my place! Enjoy your Sunday, immensely! Hugs~c

Bet you were the best dressed (and decorated!) Mama at the graduation ceremonies. Loved this rosette banner, and I'm sure Bret was so proud of what you did to show him honor. I hope the ceremony went smoothly, that the weather cooperated and all the parties were just wonderful. And that neither you or DH overdid it. Hope your wkend was grand. TFS & Hugs

Hey hun you've been around a lot - don't worry about visiting me all the time - I am a manic crafter and make too many things too quickly I struggle to keep up with myself sometimes! Have a lovely day xx

Oh Brenda, I nearly fell out of my chair with laughing at your comment about you son making you crazy...and then deciding you were already there! Too hilarious! And I most certainly think you are 'hip' - have to be with all those men in your life (which must be a treat in general!). You are so awesome at lifting spirits, making me laugh, bringing sparkle to my days. Have you played with your MCT yet? I still have a while to wait before they come, and when they do, I'm sure you'll hear the cheering and feel the thunderous happy dancing! Hugs by the bucketsful~c

Oh, dear, Brenda, I can't believe it has been this long since I've been by. I'm so sorry. My sister was here and I had an ATC swap and the days just flew away.

I see that you had a baby son graduate from high school (LOVE the button), had a birthday, and put your back out. I can't leave you alone for a second!!

I'm concerned about your back seeing that you haven't posted for this long. Or perhaps you've had a flare. I hope you let us (or email me) know soon how you are doing. If you have misplaced your mojo, I started a challenge over on my blog that might spark it!

Happy Belated Birthday! The 23rd? I'd love to know the date, so I can put it on my calendar for next year. I'd love to do a card if you want to exchange addresses!

Big hugs, Darnell
