Hello my crafty friends, I hope this Monday finds you are doing super! We had a gorgeous weekend, but a cool one of only 64 degrees both days. Now that's not cold, but put 20 MPH wind in there and it tends to be a little cool. lol But I'm not complaining because it was sunny and beautiful. Today is hubby's treatment, only an hour and then in three weeks it will only 30 minutes each time. Not bad, and he is doing wonderful except for the neuropathy in his hands and feet. But then again he thinks working 16-18 hours a day is good for them! And he can't understand why he is tired because he has always done it. But he hasn't always been taking chemo. I shake my head at him and tell him he needs to take it easy and just increase his work load a little at a time, but what do I know?! lol He is going to be tired because his body is fighting and the chemo is fighting wearing him out. This man is giving me more grey hair than my 6 boys, speaking of which I need to color my hair! lol
Well enough of my rambling. As you know Monday's are a new challenge over at BBTB2. Today our wonderfully sweet and talented design team sister Jayne has chosen gift packaging as our theme challenge. Cause let's face it we all in need of gift packaging of some sort. I tell you at first I had no clue what I was going to do. I knew I needed something to put son #2 shirt in that I got him for his birthday, so I thought well maybe I could make a box or bag big enough to put a shirt in. Uh, well not the box I chose. lol I knew that it wasn't going to work when I saw that I could cut parts of the box on different mats. But that was ok, because I thought I will use it for my son's that have kids for Father's day. So I used Bags, Tags, Boxes and More 2 for the shirt box. It comes with a tie, but I didn't use it. I tried, and the key word is tried, to make it look like a button up shirt with a t-shirt under it. It was a simple cut and simple to assemble. I didn't make my box top to close like the file intended, I instead taped my closure to the inside of my box. I will fill it some some of my guy's favorite treats. My sentiment is from My Creative Time All Around Everything stamp set placed on the Stitched Scallop and Circle dies. I don't like where I put the sentiment and may move it. Sometimes I just have to sit and look at things for a while. lol My little buttons are from JoAnns, Favorite Findings I believe they are called. I hope you will go see what inspiration my design team sisters have for you cause I'm here to tell you they have some awesome packaging to inspire you. Then have a go at making you own gift packaging and linking up with us. I'm really looking forward to being inspired by you all!! Thanks for stopping by for a spell today, I so love when you come to visit me. I will have some graduation party invites to share with you later this week so I hope you will stop back by again.. Crafty hugs, Brenda

This is the cutest package ever! Those little buttons are the best. I don't know why men don't listen. I can tell hubby something and he ignores it but if the doctor tells him the same thing, it becomes "law".
First of all and speaking of birthdays.......HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!!!! Hope your day is wonderful!
Now, on to your project - FABULOUS!! The little buttons are so cute on here and it looks exactly like a shirt. Fantastic way to wrap up that special gift!
Tell hubby to slow down a bit although I know if he's like Jim that's like talking to a wall! Sending good thoughts for him though.....and for you too!

I hear you had a birthday, hope it was wonderful. Glad hubby is doing well. (he should listen to you...but he is a MAN)lol
First let me say how awesome your shirt looks. You did good girl!.
Secondly with Dwayne telling him to slow down is like telling the birds to quit flying. Not going to happen.
Hugss my friend.
Fantastic box and just perfect for him I betcha my hubs wears button down shirts too. Wow to compare the 2 of us is out of this world we have more of the same things than what I have with my real sister and husbands to match! My husband also has neuropathy in his feet and yes he won't slow down neither. Praise God for the answer prayers and that Dwayne is doing better. Continue prayers and hugs my friend. I will be getting mine colored tonight care to join me :)
Belated Happy Birthday, Brenda! I hope that some special spoiling and pampering came your way! I so enjoyed reading about your husband's progress. I quite understand why you're encouraging him to slow down and take things more slowly; it's because you want him healthy and strong. On the other hand, I understand why he's driven to do what he does - he probably wants things to be 'normal', as a sign that he's recovering. If he can do this, this and that, then for him, that's a measure of 'being better'. Years ago, I had a significant injury, and all I wanted was 'normal'. I exhausted myself in the process, but that didn't deter me. I imagine your husband is the same in being driven, motivated and oh...a wee bit stubborn. Sometimes, all we can do is stand back, smile, nod our heads...You sound like the perfect match for him, indeed - supporting, encouraging, loving. If he'll listen to anyone, he'll listen to you. As for colouring your hair: well, that's a well-earned, well-deserved treat! Your gift box: absolutely wonderfully adorable! And the MCT sentiment is darling. I wonder if I have that stamp - something to scope out once I'm home! Enjoy your day, sweet friend - hope the weather warms for you! sounds like us - sunny skies, cool wind...Hugs~c
LOVE this, Brenda!!! Perfect Father's Day gift!!! Those buttons are fabulous :)
Hang in there!!! And yes, you deserve to go get pampered and get your hair done :)
Have a great day!

It seems it was your birthday recently! I hope it was fabulous!
I know it must be tough for your hubby! He probably wants to work to keep his mind off of things! busy hands, busy minds or something like that!
I'll keep you in my prayers!
I just love your fabulous shirt box! It is so darn cute!! The little buttons just set it off perfectly! Great project my sweet friend!
Well, for heaven's sake, it looks like someone had a birthday on Monday and didn't do a Happy Birthday to herself posting? Hmmm. And why not, may I ask? As you know only too well, birthdays are meant to be cherished and celebrated and shouted about from the rooftops! Happy Belated Birthday to you, Brenda, and may you have many, many, more!!
Your shirt box is beyond ridiculous! That is the cutest packaging I have ever seen!!
I'm glad to hear that hubby's treatments will be lessening and that he is progressing. I'm amazed that he is able to continue those long hours while on chemo. He must be a total bull of a man, that's all I can say. That's good though, I would think coz cancer doesn't have a chance again this guy! Never mind trying to talk sense into him. Most bullish guys have pig heads! Oh, did I just say that out loud?!
Hugs, Darnell
Just jumping back to say your comment on my post has me blushing and misting with tears at how sweet it is! YOU are awesome, amazing and fabulous - and having you come into my life is a blessing. So there!! Great big hug and a MWAH to you, dear friend! My day is sparkling! ~c
Brenda your shirt box is FABULOUS! Love the striped paper and little buttons.
Glad Dwayne is doing well.
I have my score tool set at 1 itself and the other settings I leave as the same for my cardstock. Shhh... but I have my score blade in upside down as I find the fatter end scores better and doesn't rip the paper!! LOL.
