Valentines/Galentine Cards

Hello crafty friends, I hope you are all doing well. It's been a little crazy around here. Worked on helping Bret with his home: cleaning and the guys moved furniture. Went back on a Sunday and clean the most disgusting, filthy fridge I'd ever seen in my life and did some touch up painting in his living room. It is a cute little house and perfect for Bret and his dogs. So will share some photo's at the end. Then he came for his dogs that Monday after I was there on Sunday. By that Friday, he was home with Covid....again! Infected from a co-worker-the guy he is buying the house from. He didn't have any groceries, so guess who got a phone call? Yep, me, so off I go to get everything he needs, plus his monitors so he can work from home that were still here, a big box of stuff from here of his and to Sam's for a Air fryer/toaster/grill/convention oven like mine. Get to his house and unload everything on his front porch for him to get and off I go. The dogs went nuts at the storm door, lol, they wanted to come see Grandma but couldn't. Then Saturday, I get another call-he needed a couple more things....off I go again. lol Placing everything on the front porch. Finally, he went back to work last Wednesday and then Thursday brought the dogs to me to watch as he had a work weekend thing in another county. Just got the pups this evening, but they will be coming back on Sunday as he is doing a job fair at the college he went to. They are looking to hire, so.....I'm grandpup sitting again. So Savannah and I haven't really had much time to get into much of a routine yet. Or to get much done.

Like overseas, we had very high winds and a storm come through. I can't believe we didn't lose electric....I was one of the lucky ones in my county, but many did in my county lost their electric, including Bret only he wasn't home, he is also in a different county than me now. The dogs and I couldn't even sleep as it sounded like the house was going to blow away. For 3 days we had high winds, I'm surprised the pool survived...but the cover was high in the air! Glad that is done, but winds are to come back at the end of the week, hopefully not as bad this time! It is always windy here at my house, I'm in open fields where the wind blows all the time!

So not much crafty time going on here, but I did manage a few Valentines/Galentines. So will share these with you all. I did a print and cut for the images/rectangles/sentiment. So no stamping. This was the quickest way for me to get this done in my limited time frame. I thought they still were cute even though they were very simple. The last two are for the grands.

And now some photos of Bret's home. And a thank you for sticking with me this long!

The other owners still have junk to get, in the garage and outside of the home. I think they did come and get some recently though but not everything. So all the stuff on the porch is theirs.

After painting the fireplace and the walls, the fireplace was a yellowish tan and the walls were a dirty white. The walls are now a light gray and it looks very nice and as you can see the fireplace is a dark gray. He is sticking with a blue, gray, white color combo in the whole house. He is going to do the floors at some point, with the floors like he did for me, only in gray.

Another view of the living area, with a peek into the kitchen

Relaxing on his new couch, outside that window is a huge deck, so that will be nice this summer!

The bar chairs he got for the bar area, as this is where he will be eating....or in the living room at his coffee table that lifts up. But I think, mostly from here.

So that is a little sneak peek into Bret's new to him home. It is about 8 to 10 years older than my home, only it is brick with a metal roof and he has a much newer furnace. It's a solid home and I think he will  have many good memories there.

Thank you for sticking with me for this long post, I also want to say thank you for always coming back to visit with me a spell as I know I'm sporadic at posting. Your comments always bring sunshine to my soul and I thank you for them. I know I get behind with commenting, but I am trying to stay up as well as I can at the moment. Know that I might not comment on each post, but I am checking in. One day I will get back to a more normal schedule and things should settle down. I hope....

Rudolph Days

Hello my crafty friends, I'm slipping in at the last minute to play along over at the Rudolph challenge. It closes tonight, so I am cutting it short! It is also my first project of 2022.

I made a mini slimline card, it turned out to be a "make a fuss" card and took longer to make than I would have liked. I will be using this image again because I love it, but won't be coloring it all in again. lol It's a larger stamp, but all the pieces are tiny to color. So my little scene is of a town in the "Burbs", with the big city behind it at dusk. I didn't get my sky right, but I can live with it and will try a dusk sky again sometime. All my little stores are open, lights on and ready for Christmas shoppers, even the Post Office is open for those last minute packages that need to get sent out. lol Wish that happened in real life! I embossed with black embossing powder and then colored in with just regular markers. Fussy cut out my image and laid it on my DIO background. I wanted to put faux snow on the snow areas, but they are tiny and the tip of the snow bottle just wasn't fine enough-plus the snow is thick. So I used Stickles instead. Tried getting a photo of the sparkle, but it didn't really turned out in the second photo. I did enjoy the mini slimline size card, so definitely want to try making some more again. Never made mini slimline cards before, just the regular slimline, and that was years ago.

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting with me again. I so appreciate you all and your comments brings so much joy to me. If I haven't been by to see you, I hope to be by soon.

I got my first shingles shot and boy did it kick my butt! Even the Covid vaccines didn't bother me like this shingles shot did. It kicked my butt for several days, stirring up my Lupus big time. I hope the second one goes better! Bret is getting his things declutter and packed. Moving furniture on Wednesday! I am looking forward to seeing his "new to him" home. I am hoping to be able to share some photos soon.

Stay warm if it is cold in your neck of the woods and I pray everyone is staying well.

Wood Slice Ornaments

Hello crafty friends, I hope you are keeping warm and aren't dealing with snow, ice and all that comes with winter time. If you are having the winter stuff, then I hope you are able to stay in and just stay warm!

I had forgotten this in my last post, so wanted to get them posted. I painted my wood slices with white and black paint. Then using vinyl and my Cricut, cut out Christmassy words to place on one side and a snowflake to place on the other side. Painted some beads in black and white as well and threaded them onto the hangers. I love how these look and think they are so fun. Have a bunch more I can make. Not sure how I will change them up yet, but I will do something different. I hope you find these as fun as I do!

Sorry I am behind in commenting again, I hosted my sister friend for 5 days. It was nice to have her around and we had a great time. Bret will be moving next week, so I will be coming and going with comments then too. But hopefully I will make it around to everyone. As always, thank you so much for visiting with me for a spell. Your comments always make my day and warm my soul! Again, I hope to be by to visit with you as well very soon.

Christmas Gifts Makes

Hello my crafty friends, it's been a while I know! November and December were really busy months for me as I'm sure it was for you too. I had a wedding in November besides the holiday, took a girls trip to Myrtle Beach in early December and was working on all my Christmas gifts that I wanted to make. That and taking care of the three pups. That will be ending soon though as Bret is moving out on Feb. 1st. He bought a starter home! Ready for him to have his own space so I can have my house back. lol But will miss him like crazy.

This is going to be picture heavy as I'm sharing all the things I made for Christmas. I still didn't get all done that I wanted to, but it's a new year, so more makes will be happening. lol Ok, here we go:

This was the wedding gift I made. The gal wasn't taking her husband's last name, so this is what I came up with. Was inspired by Pinterest. Done with vinyl.

This wood round was made using sand from the Outer Banks as well as the shells that I picked up except for one. No vinyl on this one, it was stenciled on after cutting out with my Cricut. A gift for my SIL and she loved it!

This wood round was made with vinyl.

Same with this sign, done with vinyl. It's not straight either! The red vinyl was a shimmery/glittery red and would not stick to the transfer tape I had, so had to place each letter down. The white I could pick up with transfer tape, so it is straight, even though it doesn't look it.

A little chalk board sled that I put a count down to Christmas on in vinyl.

Another sign with vinyl.

Again, done with vinyl.

Scrapbook paper, and vinyl.

Mugs done with sublimation, this one I wasn't thinking and should have used a shadow around the letter. But the person loved it anyway and used it when I hosted them over Christmas.

The golf and wrestling mugs were for my nephews, I put cash and hot cocoa packets in them. They were amazed at their mugs and loved them! I'm sure they loved the cash too. lol

A candle I spruced up.

Pillow covers I made. These next two don't have the pillow inserts as she already has pillows inserts from other pillows covers I made her and gave them with the pillows. Now she can just change them out.

A beer mug my brother asked me to make for his fantasy football winner.

An apron I made for my brother, he grills delicious chicken and while grillin', he is chillin' and always refillin' his beer! lol He loved this. He keeps telling me I'm missing the boat and need to make an etsy shop to sell my crafts. Just not interested in doing that! I have two more aprons I want to do, they are plaids though. Just ran out of time, so will make them for this year.

Lastly, this little cutie was an experiment and stayed with me. I wanted to make more of these, but was trying my hand with this one first. Never got anymore made, but will in the future. Faux whipped cream topper on a mug with vinyl. The whipped topper is separate, so can be packed away separate from the mug.  Mug not for drinking out of though because the vinyl is around the rim and vinyl isn't food safe. Just for décor purposes.

I think that is everything. I think....Hard to say as sometimes I forget to take photo's of this stuff when I'm done making it! But you get the gist. I have not been commenting as I've not been on the computer much. Hopefully I will get back to doing that and back into blogging, although it will probably be sporadic with Bret moving and then me being able to work on my crafty room since it will only be Savannah and myself. So looking forward to that!!!! But still, I hope to be around some!

If you have stuck with me this long, thank you! I appreciate you all so much and am looking forward to this new year. Which I hope I will be able to do more crafty stuff, cardmaking and scrapbooking since I don't have to worry about what Kahlua is getting into and can actually use my craft room once again. Thank you too for all your lovely comments, they always brighten my day!

A Christmas Make

Hello my crafty friends, I hope everyone is doing well. It is windy and blustery here, but on Wednesday and Thursday we are to be back in the 60's, then back down to the 40's. I really dislike the weather temp swings back and forth. My body just can't adjust.

I have a Christmas make for you today. Will have more, but will start with this one. Lots of makes happening here, but I am slow! Should be farther along than I am. Oh well...hopefully I get everything done in time. This is a wood round that I did. I used vinyl instead of a stencil, but will be stenciling some too. I hope you like it, the angle isn't the best. I should have hung it up and took my photo. Oh well...you get the gist! I stained my wood round, then taped it off in the center to paint the red and white, painted the white rustic on purpose. Went around distressing the edges with Waverly antiquing wax. Cut my sentiment with my Cricut and placed on, made my bows and placed some greenery and the pinecone under the bow. Sorry the angle is making it look weird. Lesson learned! Easy peasy!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting me in this busy time of year that is only going to get busier! I appreciate your comments, they always bring me joy when I read them as you all are so kind. I hope the sun is shining where you are! Stay warm if it is cold, stay cool if it is hot where you are.

The Same....But Different

Hello crafty friends, I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit in a while again. Life was busy and I wound up in the ER with kidney stones. They were going to keep me and I was so surprised! They were worried about sepsis as white blood cells or something was high in the urine. Anyway, after a rough time of it with being sick from the pain and then the pain meds, they gave me a bag of antibiotics and decided to let me go home late in the evening My male nurse told me to get my butt in the recliner and not to move. I was given strict instructions on what to watch for and if I had any of the symptoms to get my butt up to the hospital where the urologist was on duty.  Which was over an hour away. Bret ended up sleeping on the living room floor on his air mattress to keep an eye on me all night. If I moved, he was asking me questions. So thankful for him. Anyway, I got through the weekend without incident. Just took it easy, had no choice as I was to doped up to do much of anything else and took my pill form antibiotics and Flomax as Bret reminded me to do so. Have pain and nausea pills if I need them, so thankful that I haven't needed them. Pain meds just make me sicker than a dog. But have another 4 stones to go so I won't say it too loud!!

So made these cards the other week. I thought they were pretty cool looking as well as fun and enjoyed making them. Always good to be able to add birthday cards to the stash! My favorite one is the red and black one, but I do like all the color combos and would like to do more sometime. I did some scoring at the bottom, but it isn't showing up since I took a photo of all the cards together. Used snippets as well for the scallop background and the white background that the birthday was drawn on, so will try and link to the Snippet Playground Challenge. Aren't they fun?!  I used my Cricut and markers to make these cards. The design and file came from The Bearded Housewife. Nick is such a great guy and has a fun blog with lots of free files.

I hope to be by some this week to visit. Please be patient with me as I navigate my gift making and all the other stuff that needs to be done before the holidays. As well as try and rid this body of these stones and keep myself healthy.  As always, your comments bring sunshine to my life. I know you are busy too, so that makes your comments all the more special to me!

Rudolph Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I sure hope the sun is shinning where you are. It is a dark, rain dumping, extremely windy day here. Very raw out. Yesterday was so beautiful, sunny and not warm, but not cool either. Just a hint of crisp in the air. I guess it was the sun that made it feel so nice with temps in the low to mid 60's.

I took a pause from Christmas gift making to make a card for the Rudolph Challenge. I haven't played in so long, I don't play much in challenges because mostly I forget about them and then they are over. lol I've tried writing down the challenge and date to close, but then forget I wrote it down. Anyone else as bad as me?! No, ok.....even Bret is worried about me. haha.

Maureen is honoring Kath, a blogger who recently passed away by adding a twist of paper piecing since Kath paper pieced a lot. So if you do paper piecing, she had an extra gift in honor of Kath. I'm not playing for the price, God knows I have enough crafty goodness to last me forever. I love how paper piecing looks, but rarely do it so I thought this was a great time to make a Christmas paper pieced card. As usual, it didn't come out as well as it did in my head, and while I don't love it, I don't hate this card either. But I do have a lot of ink where it doesn't belong! Rudolph's face, on the white part of my card, etc. I think it came from the stamped glittered cardstock, the ink had a hard time drying on it. I should have used Stazon, hindsight!

So while this card isn't perfect and didn't turn out like I "saw" it in my head, I think it is still cute. So I think this will be a grandchild card. lol They don't notice your mistakes! I also am going to enter this into the Snippets Playground (Ruby's Memory) and NBUS challenges.

Thank you for stopping by today and visiting with me. Your comments always bring rays of sunshine to my day. If I haven't been by to visit you,  I should be soon.
