Hidden Joy

Hello my crafty friends! Hope you are having a sunny day today! We are!!!! For once, we have a bright and sunny day. The weather man said that we haven't had a nice, bright, all day sunny day for 36 days! We have had peeks of sun but that is it. It will be short lived as clouds will be moving in tonight for rain tomorrow, but for now I'm enjoying this sunny day!

I know, don't faint at all my posts of late!! I'm on a roll, but don't get to used to it. lol I do have more cards to share, but wanted to play in some challenges as well. Today's cards I made for two challenges and to add to my stash of Christmas cards. I made four of them because I have decided that if I wanted to build my stash of Christmas cards, then I would need to make more than just one or two at a time. I wish I would have made more of these, and maybe I will but with a different hidden word or such. Who knows, but I know I will be making at least 4 cards at a time.

So Darnell's 9th NBUS challenge is on, started on Monday and will run until Sunday. The optional twist is to do a hidden word on your card. I love this technique and have done it once or twice before. So I was in! Then as I thought what I would make, I decided to combine challenges using one card design. Today, the 25th, starts the Rudolph challenge as well. Maureen hosts this challenge and it is fun to play along. I am hoping to play for all 12 months this year! Now hold me accountable! lol The Rudolph challenge starts on the 25th of each month and runs to the end of the said month. I'm so proud of myself to already have my card ready to go over and play for both challenges. I made two green ones and two red ones. Can you see my hidden "joy"??? I didn't put the sentiment "to the world" (which is also a NBUS) on all my cards as I didn't like it. So only one has it. Here are my cards:

As always I thank you for stopping by and visiting with me for a spell. I also love when you come by and your comments bring so much joy to my world!!!

Playing at these challenges:

Crafty  hugs,
+

I'm quite intrigued with this hidden word technique, new to me but looks great on your cards

you nailed the challenge with these great cards and I love how simple the design is! I tried and failed to create any hidden words - I guess I like things out in the open loud and proud instead of hidden! LOL Great idea for a card - well done!

Your card is an excellent example of the hidden word technique, Brenda. I love this CAS card, and you're smart to be getting started on Christmas cards already. I appreciate your comments about my failed attempt at the hidden word technique. You were right on point as I realized after completing my die cut. I hope to do another one with better results. Have a great day! BTW, I'm happy to see you're back crafting :)

Hi Brenda. It's so great to see you having lots of crafty time! LOVE this design. The hidden joy is awesome! Love in both colours. Great idea to make multiples. xx

Hurrah for you! Glad you were able to make two-fers of these beauties. Love that you've used this wonderful ribbon stamp in the 2 traditional colors. Brilliant you to do the hidden die as you did...it's most effective, and sure fit the challenge bill (at both challenges too! More cleverness!). While I love both the designs, I agree that I like the 'plainer' one better too. But excellent work on both these cards. So proud of you. MM

these card are stunning Brenda - love the ribbon and bow staping, and I can see why you only used the word Joy on most of them - you were right, the rest of the sentiment didn't 'fit'.
Blessings

I adore the bow and ribbon stamping Brenda, the hidden word gives gorgeous texture to the card. The card to your son in the previous post is so cool, I'm sure he had a wonderful Birthday.

I'm so glad to hear that you have some sunshine, it must have been a long wait. That do sound a lot like our winter days that always seem to be so grey.

Love and hugs

Hi Brenda...just popping back to share that I did try the heat gun. Sadly even though I was a long ways awy from the Yupo paper, the paper kind of crinkled together and warped into a weird raised shape...like melted plastic!
I think it is the synthetic recipe of the paper.

I did find out from a Lavinia stamps video, that I should of wiped the Yupo with an embossing powder pad before stamping the Momento black ink (the image I wiped off0. The powder helps the ink to attach to the Yupo and then you go back in and paint on any areas that pulled the ink off.

I think it would havebeen better to use a more basic stamp shape for this project.
