Random Cards

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day! It's going to be a hot one here today and I got mowing to do. And then this evening we are trimming bushes that should have been trimmed in July, but the rain prevent us or Bret was gone for the weekend. Bret is also replacing the kitchen faucet as it has been dripping for the past 3 years and I have to adjust the handle to prevent it as much as I can. So we will be laboring. lol But I think at some point I will be getting into the pool to vacuum and cool off! We also had some heavy rain again. In my area, we made out pretty good. In other counties, they got 9 inches of rain in 3 to 4 hours! Flooding was bad once again in Amish country of Lancaster and in Bret's work area, York County. Thankfully Bret was home that day as Kahlua accidentally scratched his eye and he had to go to the eye doctor. He is fine and the scratches aren't deep, thank the good Lord. So he didn't have to worry about having to drive home with all the roads that were closed. I am very blessed to live in the area I do!!!

I have some cards that were made a while back but never shared. Not sure if I will share all of them or save a few for another post. Probably will save some for another post. lol With this first one, I used the Gina K build a wreath template. I didn't do a great job so I just filled the card and cut it down for a panel. I still think it is ok, but obviously I need practice on making wreaths with this template! Still made a pretty card I thought. I used snippets on this whole card, so will be joining in over at the Snippet's Playground and seeing what Di and Parsnips are up to.

This card is a very simple card. I had won a paper pack from SU over the summer and I used a piece of it for this card along with some snippets as well on this one for my diamond/square shapes. Added the "happy birthday" die cut and called it done.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by on this hot holiday here in the States. Your comments always bring much needed sunshine into my day. I will be around to visit you too soon!

Crafty hugs,

Well now, all I have to do is pick a pretty pair of cards when I come here to visit :) These both turned out great and you did a darned good job with that wreath-builder setup! I love all these bright summery colors and how cheerful both cards turned out! Great designs and ideas for both! Have fun with your yard work - our kind neighbor trimmed our shrubs for us a couple weeks ago and we're so grateful as that's a job neither of us are able to do anymore. Enjoy that dip in the pool too - I'm just chilling in the a/c today - too hot for me to even stick my head out the door me thinks :) Happy Labor Day!

Two bright and beautiful floral cards Brenda. That wreath builder is very cool and I'm thinking I should get it. Love the mix of colours of your flowers with the patterned paper in the background. Your second is pretty with the beautiful floral paper ... gotta love that! Stay dry!! xx

So glad that no permanent damage to Bret's eye. YOu are one up on me with the wreath builder (and I had put my templates _somewhere_ and had to hunt up). I think your effort turned out very pretty. And you did a great job on using the smaller elements of that set to create the bright summery background on the card. I quite like the ferns around the sentiment as you have done this. Looks very pretty withthe background papers. #2 is just as pretty with the trio of diamond shaped squares. I like the 'on-point' look of the bold squares against the sort of water colored effect of the floral background. Both of these are winners in my book. TFS & Hugs. MM

Sorry I'm so late to the party … two mighty beautiful cards from snippets, my friend! Doesn't it feel good to use those bits and pieces we HAVE TO hold onto? My ability to random-stamp is not great, Brenda - yours looks good to me!
We've had crazy amounts of rain, and lots of lightening with it! What a bazaar end to this hot summer... xx

So enjoyed reading your post and catching up on 'life'x. Sorry about the mishaps along the way though x. Both your cards are vibrant and so very pretty. I think the wreath card looks fabulous and love the colours, the stamping and the wonderful layout. The paper you've used, from your win, is a great background for the striking white die cut on your second card. Thanks for sharing these beauties x

What a lovely pair of cards Brenda. I love how you stamped around the sentiment in the first one - those flowers and sprigs are so pretty! You matched up all those colours so well on the second one and those stacked diamonds are such a great design idea. I hope you managed to get all your jobs done and can relax a bit now.
Hugs
