Every birthday should be taken with a grain of salt....

Hello my crafty friends, I hope this Monday finds you well. Nothing new or exciting around here. I just went to a Rosery group at church on Saturday with my husband's cousin, and then to 5:30 pm mass Saturday evening with the cousin as well as her daughter and dad. They are such great family to me and have been a big help since Dwayne's passing. So I tend to spend a lot of time with them. After church we went out to eat at the local diner and had so many laughs. It's good to laugh like that! Then home, Bret came home on Friday to work, so he worked all day and evening on Saturday and Sunday all day. He then headed back up to school. Spring break will be coming up in a few weeks and he will be home for a week. I imagine he will work the whole time. I always love when he is home and can't wait for May to come around cause then he will be home for the summer. Anyway just a mundane weekend, which is right up my alley.

As you know it's time for a new challenge over at BBTB2. Our sweet Kelly of Kelly's Concoctions  chose our theme for this week and she wants us to create a fiesta themed project in honor of Nat'l Margarita day. Yes, there is a Nat'l something day each month I think. lol I had no clue what the heck I was going to do. So when that happens to me, I surf Pinterest. I typed in "margarita" and drinks and such popped up. So my card is inspired by a sentiment that I saw on Pinterest. My card is also very simple. I used the Ole Cricut cartridge in Design Space or Cricut Access, what ever they are calling it these days. I also used one of the writing fonts to put my sentiment on the outside and inside of my card. That font was called Chloe Whimsy.

I hope that you all will play along with us on this fun challenge. If you need more inspiration, just look for farther than BBTB2, my design team sisters have lots of inspiration!

As always, thanks for stopping by and sittin' a spell with me. I also love company especially now that I'm alone a lot. Your comments always lift my spirits and make me smile! Crafty hugs, Brenda

See, simple, very simple! But cute don't you think?

Close up of the Wink of Stella sparkle and my "salt" is flower soft.

The side of the card. I goofed, when the Explore started writing the sentiment, I realized that the pen adapter wasn't closed. Ooops! That's why the "es" looks smaller from the rest of the letters. I can live with it though.

Fun Margarita card, Brenda. It's also my baby sister's birthday, so I wished her happy birthday and happy margarita day too! Yours looks like a Blue Lagoon margarita I drank a million years ago. Thanks for all the support for me and for Tad. Your thoughts and prayers are such a blessings. Still waiting to hear from him.... Bev

Well this turned out fabulous, Brenda. Love the colors. The glitter and flower soft really do look like salt on the rim of the glass. Looks icy cold and yummy, too. Also the perfect sentiment. This card would work with just about everyone I know. Everyone seems to love margaritas. Love it!
Seems like you are keeping busy. Thank goodness for family. What a wonderful support group you have. I still pray for you too.

What a great card! Sos fun and cute...and the way the "es" got printed just looks as though it is part of the drinking card...like maybe trying to make a joke that you had a drink or two as you created it...lol

ahhh that Cricut came to the fore again, Brenda and what a clever card, love the gorgeous turquoise colour and the way you've done it really pops off the page .. love the Chloe font too sets it off nicely.

.. And so agree on the inspiration with Pinterest.

Am trawling through cards on golf cards for my uncles 80th I am trying to get inspired and can't help thinking it would be nice to have a cutting machine do the things that are in my head but am quite sure I will manage just nicely without spending the $399 they're costing here on special. :D
The LORD always helps out so am sure He will this time too. its having no stamp or anything to use so going to have to improvise.
Hugs and prayers dear friend ... nice to chat a spell :D

Thanks so much for sharing.

I am amazed at all the colorful cards this week for our fiesta challenge and yours is so colorful and playful too! that salt on the glass looks so real - wow. you made a great card - your cards and projects are so varied - you have lots of creativity in your projects and try many different techniques. I haven't tried out the new fonts yet, but will do so, as I seem to never be able to find the right one from cricut. have a great week, wish we were close - I would have you over to craft all the time!

love your margarita inspired fiesta card - the creations this week were spectacular - yours included. that salt on the rim is so life like - I think I have to cook Mexican and server margaritas this week. great card sentiment too.

have a good week - wish we were closer instead of across the country - we could craft together once in a while.
