Bee-utiful!

Hello my crafty friends, can you believe it is August?! I can't and refuse to give up summer. lol I guess I will have to won't I cause it hasn't been the warmest summer on record here and I hope that doesn't mean an early winter. I keep telling hubby I need to move to an area where they have short winters, and I do mean short!!! Wishful thinking I guess. Anyways I plan on enjoying summer for as long as I can. In the meantime I have a little card for you. I was over visiting with Darnell and fell in love with the sketch she used to make her card so I thought (even though the challenge is closed) I would make a card using the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch. I really loved Darnell's card and I really loved the sketch. I used products from My Creative Time and some washi tape. Not sure if it is SU washi tape or just some washi tape Studio G washi tape I picked up. Sorry! But the black polka dot and the yellow plaid are washi tape going down the left side of my card. The sentiment, bee and honeycomb/shadow came from My Creative Time. For the inside I used another bee and a few of the inside pieces from the honeycomb. On the outside bee I put some stickles on the wings for some sparkle. And that is it, a plain and simple but quick card to put in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me for a spell. I hope you had an enjoyable visit and thank you for your lovely comments. They really do make me smile! Have a wonderful weekend-crafty hugs, Brenda

Stunning! Great way to use that graphic washi tape to such a beautiful effect. Really liking your hexagon designs too, and the little bee was a terrific design touch. Looks like he's landed on the center of a flower. This is really stunning, and good for you at the inspiration. Can't do better than Our Darnell for good ideas! TFS & hugs. (SC has relatively mild winters!)

So pretty, Brenda. Love that bee and the yellow and black on the bright white. So crisp and clean. The inside is fabulous, too.

This turned out fabulous, my friend!!! Totally love the washi tape. Perfect colors and patterns to go with the bee. Such a fabulous idea to use the leftover hexies on the inside. I'm so ashamed to say I haven't had a chance to even get my bee dies out since I got them. It's been so hectic since arriving here in Florida. I think we picked the perfect year to decide to permanently leave the northern weather behind. I still keep tabs on the weather where we had our camper and they've had so many days in the 60s. Here it's in the 90s every day. If you want to come visit at any time to get out of the cold this winter just give me a BUZZ. LOL No pun intended.

I love all the little hexes within the large hexagon - what a great graphic look! The washi tape looks great with that little bee, and the inside of the card is every bit as cute and fun as the outside! Enjoy the weather, because we've really been having lovely weather this summer haven't we?! Is this our reward for enduring the brutal winter last year, or is this a lead-in to another wicked winter on it's way? Time will tell :)
Have a great weekend!

Hello sweet Brenda! Those darn bike races (and another round of them this weekend) set me back in commenting, crafting, house work (ummm..that's not such a bad thing *grin), so I'm arriving late! Your card is BEE-utiful in every way, my friend! Perfect layout for the hive die and using the honeycomb hexagons for the inside = brilliant! Incredibly sweet; dare I say "a honey of a card"? Apparently I dare! LOVE this! Oh...and the washi adds such impact! Loving this oodles! August - already...sighh. We're seeing shorter days and cooler temperatures in the mornings and evenings, which means that 'fall' will be here far too soon. Keeping my fingers crossed for the 'unusually' warm temperatures to hang out for a while longer! Okay, off to see your next delight...

I see I've got some catching up to do with you! It's nice to see that you've been getting in some crafty time, Brenda. And I'm tickled that I inspired you (along with the sketch) to make this adorable card! And I do mean adorable! I honestly think the inside alone would make a great CAS card according to my QACAS standards! Well done! Hugs, Darnell
