Pop Out Z fold Card

Hello my crafty friends, I hope your 4th of July weekend was a nice one. We had a laid back one here. Went to one of my sons for a small cook out on Saturday, then Bret and I just cooked out burgers and dogs on the grill Sunday. So nice and laid back until Bret went back to work on Tuesday.

I have a card for you today. I learned out to make it from Mary over at Cardz TV. I was going to
put everything I did in this post that went with this card. But....I am laid up for the next 4 to 8 weeks, so thought I would spread them out in future posts as I won't be getting crafty for some time. In a leg brace and using a walker because I'm not to put any weight on my leg. I slipped in the bathroom after showering on Thursday and twisted my knee. It was ok for the most part, and I limped a bit, but went on with my morning to get my friend and go have lunch to celebrate her birthday. Drove us in to the diner, all was good...until it wasn't. Moving my leg under the table got very painful. Then I couldn't walk out to leave. My friend and another lady got me out to the car and in. My friend drove me home and got me settled with an ice bag, Ibuprofen and got the dogs out to the bathroom. Then she took my car home. Had to call her back over, she just lives down the street from me, because I had to go to the bathroom and couldn't get there on my own. She stayed as Bret was on his way home to take me to the ER. They got me in the car and off we went. Fun, fun, fun! So this is a birthday card for my dear friend that made the quilts out of my late husband's clothing. She is such a sweetheart and so good to me. She loved it, she thinks I'm so good. I'm not, there are always mistakes in my projects/cards, but I try! Bless her as she loves them anyway.

I think you can see how it works in this photo. I flips open like a normal card, but also pulls out. If you watch Mary's video, you will see how it works.

Forgive me if I forget the names of supplies I used, I can't get up and go look them up. As always, thank you for stopping by and visiting with me a spell. It was a busy week, so I will be catching up with all of you soon too since that is all I can do. I wobble to the bathroom and back out with this dang walker. It's hilarious and wears me out! The leg brace is way to long for me, so Bret ordered me a smaller one to fit my height. Can't wait for that one to come as I think it will be easier to wear. He took a personal day to stay home with him and will take me to future appointments. Poor guy! I will have to make an appointment with the Ortho doctor and see where we go from here. Hopefully, it will be just the brace and all will be well.

Crafty hugs,

Oh Brenda, what a trial - and a test of your patience. Certainly not what you would have chosen for yourself!! Prayers for a speedy recovery, and no complications
Love your card, and I think we all find faults with our own work! Love that fold too.
Stay safe
Blessings

Wow, Brenda, am so glad I came over to see your post.. praying much with you that your knee only needs a brace to repair it, knees are no fun, I've a bung left knee.. mainly combo of bad falls and grade 4 arthritis deterioration from that. Grade 4 is worst, not best. So it's a whinge bucket. So thankful you had friends and Bret to help you out.
Love the bright cheery card .. such a happy combo of flowers and colours, enough to make anyone smile. And I agree with your friend, its a very clever card.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless and keep you and all whom you love safe and well, and pray no more falls!.
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz. X

Ohh Brenda!! I am so sorry! Hope Bret gets that brace situation ironed out, and that it will make getting around much easier... poor baby! I sure hope it goes well with your Ortho guy! Keep us posted, please.
In the meantime, your friend is going to adore your darling card - it is beautiful, but also from YOU which makes it that much better! She does deserve something really special for making that quilt for you. xo

This card is so cheerful and bright. I am so sorry to hear of your fall. What a bummer that is. I hope the brace and rest will be all you need and no further recovery will be necessary.

First of all, your card is beautiful and I love Mary's easy-to-follow tutorials! TFS! Secondly, I am broken hearted for the mishap you suffered and I can understand how incapacitated you are! Hopefully it's something that can repair itself with rest. I ruptured my knee some years ago and with rest, ice & Tylenol - it eventually did repair itself with no further treatment. I had to endure the brace too, but it did the trick. Having an active lifestyle makes that difficult, but I use a walker in the house all the time now, so I know how cumbersome that is. Just don't worry about crafting until you feel better. Get plenty of rest and let that knee heal. Sending healing hugs your way - I do hope you feel better soon!!

Oh MY! I do know what it is like not to be able to get around because of a brace. I was in a cast for 3 months two of which was on crutches. Broke both major bones and the socket in my ankle. My prayers will go out for you.

The card is really neat. Love the folds and design. Mistakes are in every card I make.

Love, Hugs and Blessings,
Jim

OH! My goodness Brenda, what a thing to do, that must be so painful, good you have the brace for support, but sorry, I had to laugh at it being so long for you. You must be like my Mum who was just over 5ft, we called her "Little Win", (her name was Winifred). Perhaps your name should be "Little Bren" hahaha. I'm not cruel - really I'm not. ;D
I love your card and the fold, not seen one like that before. I'm sure your friend loved it and appreciated it it too.
Keep safe and sane my Friend.
