Rudolph Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Snow for us tomorrow into Tuesday. We will see how much we get. Good new, Bret tested negative as did all the other guys that had to leave work and come home. Bret said that they made more leave and get tested. So that is good news and a load off my mind! He got his test results back on Thursday night, about 11 pm. I was already asleep, he came to the door to wake me and give me the good news. I was so happy. So thank you for your prayers, they were much appreciated!!!

I wanted to get started on some Christmas cards and since we are at the end of January already, thought I'd better get moving on a few. So will be sliding in over at the Rudy Challenge.  Here is one that was simple to do as it didn't require much. This little snowman I've seen everyone have and I had to have him as well as I think he is just adorable. So he is a NBUS as is the vertical sentiment I used. I used distress ink oxides to color him with. I'm not  great at  watercoloring, but was happy with him for the most part. I think next time I will use regular distress inks to watercolor with though. Edited to add: Joining in over at the NBUS Challenge.

Trying to capture the wink/shimmer-didn't work out so well

Very simple card, but cute I thought. I have a few more stamped so I can watercolor or just color. I know it looks like my layers are layered terribly, but they aren't in real life. I think it is because I took the photos laying down instead of standing up. Me bad. And that is it!

As always, I thank you for taking time out of your busy day to visit with me over here. It is calm before the storm, so just enjoying the bright sunshine and lower winds. I will be by to visit you too soon and thank you for your comments. I know it takes lots of time to comment and I appreciate it when you do. It always brings a brightness and joy to my day!

Crafty hugs,

Oh gosh, that really is a cute snowman and I love the soft coloring you did on him - it looks perfect! The embossed background is perfect too and I like that vertical sentiment too! I guess we'll be watching the snow fall at some point later today - hopefully it will fizzle out like so many other predicted storms so far this year. Stay warm! Hugs!

I adore that snowman - and he's still on my own wish list! LOve the color you've chosen for his hat and scarf, Brenda! Were the polka dots your idea? or part of the stamp?
Now I'm going to have to go take a look at that set again... dear me, think I'll be able to resist him one more time?

It was so good to hear Bret is negative and so are his work mates, yes a weight off your mind.

Oh Brenda, that is such good news about Bret. It is a scary time in our world right now and the mutations are still causing trouble. I'm getting my first vaccine on the 19th of Feb. but will still be staying in. I've always loved this snowman and he is adorable in his soft pink polka dot hat and scarf. Great background too.

He is everyone's favorite little snowman image and he looks amazing with that e/f, Brenda! Your coloring and matting are great and I love the vertical sediment! Don't forget to come over and link him up at the NBUS challenge, please. It's still open until tonight. I'm so happy to hear the good news that Bret tested negative! I pray you are able to get your vaccines soon. Take care and keep safe! Hugs, Auntie Darnell

Happy Rudy Day, Brenda! Don't you dare criticize your watercoloring, Snowy looks fabulous and I like the colours and embossing. I always photograph my cards flat on a table so it looks fine to me. :) good news about Bret. stay safe. Thank you so much for playing along with the first 2021 Rudolph Days Challenge.

Hi Brenda

Fantastic news about Bret .. .. .. that must have been one very big worry off both of your minds.

Well done on getting started on your Christmas makes .. .. one of my favourite snowmen! Love the embossed background very much.

Talking of snow .. .. .. how are you doing with yours? Have you been getting more or is it starting to thaw a little now?

Take care and no slipping in it!

Love Jules xx
