CAS Christmas September Tree Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are all doing well. Oh how we complained about the hot weather and now it is chilly willy. We've been in the 30's/40's at night and 60's in the day. But Wednesday we are going to be 80. That will be welcomed! A chilly September for sure, which is not the norm for us. Feels more like October than September! It's what comes after fall that I'm really not loving and it looks like we probably won't have much of a fall, and will go right into winter. I sure hope not, but it's not looking good.

I wanted to try and play in a few challenges this month and I'm getting in just shy of a couple days before closing with CAS Christmas September Tree challenge. I haven't played in any challenges to much, so playing along with a few this month was fun. As you can see my card is CAS as that is a rule, but even more than that, it is really simple and easy to do. I just used my ink blending brushes and "tapped" my inks on until I got all the way to the bottom then stamped. Cut a frame and done.

Then I made this one, not so CAS so couldn't enter it. But I thought I would share it too, a twofer as you will. I'm not the best at making snow banks/hills, but I am pleased with they way they came out-pleased for me anyway. lol  Not sure why this photo is blurry, it wasn't when I edited the photo, only since I brought it over to blogger. So still a simple card that didn't require much for it. I really love the sentiment and figured it would go with the snowy scene.

As always, I thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit with me for a spell. I hope you weren't to chilly while here. Your comments bring much sunshine to my life and I am thankful for you all! I am keeping the people in the path of this latest hurricane, Beta, in my prayers. They sure have been hit hard down south with these hurricanes! 2020 just can't leave early enough I don't think!

Crafty Hugs,

I've wondered how you get different colors on different words and now I know. This is so pretty and I love the colors you chose for this card. Your second card is great, Brenda. I love the forest and how you made the lines on your card. Wonderful sentiment too. It's chilly here to and I hate to see cold weather come. I've hardly been out for six months and probably won't go out much when it gets cold.

What a cool technique you used to create that colorful sentiment on the first card! I love the wonky stitched edges and little gold star. Great Christmas tree! I see those subtle snow drifts around the trees and they look gorgeous with that slight hint of blue color! It looks perfect with that great sentiment too! You did a great job on both of them, and Congrats on getting 2 Christmas cards made way ahead of time! I may end up buying some Christmas cards this year at the rate I'm going LOL

Oh Brenda! Two darling cards! Now, you don't say it, but I'm guessing that 'tap, tap, tap' means you've tapped the different colors onto the stamp with your blending tool?
No matter how, it's a wonderful creation!
Just absolutely love this second beauty - blurry? I figured it was just my eyes! What a fabulous sentiment, too!
So happy to see you playing in a few challenges again, my friend!

All I can do is admire what you did with the sentiment, so clever Brenda, I wouldn't have thought of that! Your tree card is so pretty, love the embossed lines and the sentiment.
We had sun and75f on Tuesday then yesterday cloudy & Drizzle 62f, it went down to 57f today, rain first thing and then sun, now cloudy. I hate Winter.
Keep safe

Both cards are fantastic, Brenda! The ombre tree is so pretty and the green frame looks wonderful for the sentiment tree. The snow banks of the second card is so beautiful and the scored lines add so much interest. Thank you so much for sharing the first card with us at CAS Christmas!

I LOVE your word Christmas tree Brenda! Great idea to use the ink blending brushes to add a different colour to each line. Lovely with the stitched framing! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!

The trees on your second card are beautiful. And you did an amazing job adding the snowbanks. What a great design with the fabulous sentiment. xx

Two wonderful cards Brenda - loving the ombre tree - that is stunning and so innovative, and your snow banks look awfully cold!! (We only get very light snow where I am about once in five years!)
Stay safe

Two fabulous cards Brenda. I love the Christmas tree! Your wintry trees look great too but a bit chilly. It’s still reasonably warm here during the day and today is nice and sunny. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year for everyone.

I think both cards work for the CAS Christmas, the important part of CAS is having lots of white space and not many embellishments. I think your cluster of trees fits the bill just fine. Your sentiment tree is certainly CAS and a great one for those quick and easy cards in a hurry. I love all the other extra details, the wonky stitched background is very eye catching! Thank you for sharing at CAS Christmas!

Great effect with the tapping of the colours on your first beatiful CAS Christmas card Brenda x. Wonderful winter scene on your second and yes the perfect sentiment to match x. It's gone really cold my end too x.

Those fresh greens are blended (or tapped!) beautifully on your delicious, framed, sentiment Christmas tree, Brenda ... and how lovely are those snowy hills under the trio of winter trees ... what a serene scene! Stay warm! Hugs, Anita :)

Your Twofer cards are wonderful, Brenda! I am intrigued by how you pounced the ink on the sediment stamp with your brushes and then stamped! What a clever idea! (Note to self!) And your serene winter scene is beautiful! Your snowy ground is awesome. Did you use a gray marker, glitter, torn paper, or what? I can't enlarge the photo for some reason so I can't tell, but I love the look!

I hope you don't go straight into a freezing cold winter. We wish you could send some of the coolness here right now. Several days of 100, 102, 100, 99, etc. are here again this week. We are so done with the excessive heat this year and, of course, now we are in red fire zone conditions again with the high heat and winds. Praying no new fires start. Enjoy your warmup next week and keep safe! Hugs, Auntie

Two super cards, Brenda. I love the stamped sentiment tree and the wonky stitched frame. Lovely image and a beautiful sentiment on your second card.
The weather has really changed here today, really cold and hasn't stopped raining all day. I think autumn is definitely here. xx

Hi Brenda

Two beautiful Christmas cards.

I love the tree shaped sentiment on the first and your colour choices, and the scene you have created on the second is great .. .. along with another fabulous sentiment.

You have some lovely crafty stash and use it so well.

Hope you are OK despite the change in the weather.

Take care.
