Twofer and Snippets Playground Challenges

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you all had a blessed Easter! We had a good one here, very low keyed which is nice, just myself, Bret and my step father for a meal. We had to eat off paper plates because I'm having septic issues and having a hard time getting any kind of help about it. As Bret has told me before, you just can't give work away. sigh One day hopefully we will have it fixed!! It all has had me in a tizzy and thus resulting in some flares, so haven't felt the best either. But we will get there eventually.

I wanted to play in the Twofer Challenge, but really had no clue what do make. I don't have much in the way of Zoo animals either. But that is the point of a challenge, right?!! So I went to Pinterest for inspiration. I saw a few cards that I thought were cute and that I could kinda' put my own spin on. I decided to use a SU panda bear for both my cards. The bear has a balloon in his hand and I didn't want it, so I masked it off before I stamped him. As always I will have the supplies I used in the recipe section below. I also used snippets on both cards, so will go and see if I can play in the Snippet's Playground.  It will be my balloon card, using black snippets for my stacked "hooray".

As always, thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me for a spell. Your visits always make my day and make me smile! If I haven't been by to visit you, I will be soon. I do get behind or don't make it every time. Trying not to spend so much time on the computer and do things. Have a card party coming up, so keep your fingers crossed that my potty and sinks works by then!!!

I had a play with Brusho's powders one day and I didn't think anything was looking very good. I'm not very good with them or don't know how they are supposed to look, not sure which! So I quit but kept everything I had done as I figured I could die cut something and get my use from them. Well, glad I did because it worked out well for my balloon. It's much greener in person and has some browns in there as well then what it shows in the photo. I stacked three layers of the "Hooray" to get some dimension to it, added my twine and called this one done.

This one is very simple, just a frame, some die cut letters and a star in my Panda's hand. I might go back and put "to the world" on yet for Joy to the World. Not sure. Or maybe "Christmas" for Christmas Joy.

Crafty Hugs,

First, Brenda, I'm so sorry you aren't finding anyone to help you clear up your septic problems. It's the worst and I really hope you can get it resolved before your card party! Thank you for playing in the challenge even when you weren't feeling that well.

You sure made two very cute and different designs with that adorable panda! I think now I'm going to have to get both that balloon die and that hooray sediment, both of which add so much to your fun card! That balloon worked perfectly for your awesome green and brown Brusho background snippet and I love how you twined the twine around to have him hold it!

I also love your CASlicious Christmas card! The stitched star fits his hand just right! That peppermint pp is fantastic and it makes a great frame and diecut letters! (I agree with you about adding "to the world.") Get better, my friend, and no worries about visiting and commenting until you feel better! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #15! Hugs, Darnell

I love how you used the zoo animals, Brenda!! The pandas are so cute!! I love the designs of each one!! I hope you get your septic issues taken care of soon. I know what you mean about not being able to give work away. I've been wanting someone to build an outdoor room and I've tried everything from Angies List to Home Advisor to local businesses. No one wants the work!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

Toooo clever Brenda dear, absolutely brilliant ideas for two gorgeous cards and for some who says they can’t play with Brushos you’ve done simply brilliantly! Love them both very very much.
Re the plumbing I’m pray for you there dear sweet friend.
A suggestion l had a similar issue didn’t have a good plumbers so prayed an dhtiught I know a builder at church I’ll ask him who he’d recommend... and he gave me a great fellows name, I looked up his number and he came that day.
Ask around, someone in your or Bret’s or someone you know must know a builder who’d know a plumber for you to fix your septic. Builders know lots of tradesmen. Through my plumber I found a good electrician .. as I God for one and He’ll do it. He promises to supply our needs (Philippians 4:17) and He’ll meet this need too.
Love you lots and praying hard. Will tell Robin to pray too.

Brushos, alcohol inks, and such all turn out brown and look like poop on t.p., lol!! Just ask Auntie! I'm no good with any of that, but your balloon turned out extra sweet! I love how you've paired it with that sweet little panda! Perfect sentiment for your birthday card, too. And what a darling Christmas card!! I love that your cute little fella is taking the place of the 'o.' He really takes center stage and shines! Love these cards, my friend. Blessings to you, and best of luck with your septic system. That must be difficult honeygirl. Thanks, too, for playing along with us at the Twofer Challenge. xo Bev

I love that big beautiful balloon the panda is holding, or floating with, Brenda! What a fun birthday card and the Brusho background worked perfectly for it. The little panda looks right at home for a Christmas card too! Two great Twofers!

Oh my gosh are these ever cute! Not good with Brushos, huh? That balloon is fabulous! What a great use of the piece you have done. I love both these cards and that panda is just adorable. Terrific cards for the Two-Fer, Brenda!

Well done you Brenda to find the energy and strength to make these two fabulous cards.
The brusho balloon looks unique, artsy and so very striking and love it against the black and the white.
Such a creative idea to use the adorable panda as the 'O' on the Christmas card and a fun idea to pop a gold star on and love that cute frame too. I don't think it needs anymore with the sentiment as it's perfect as it is.
Love both of your cards Brenda x
Sorry about your septic problems and hope it gets resolved soon. What a peaceful Easter you had and hope everything settles back down before the card party x Sending hugs x

Your Twofer is just precious with those cute pandas! I LOVE the colorful balloon you created - it really makes that card POP! Love the framed guy with a sparkling star in his hand too - just adorable with the scalloped frame!
We were invited out for Easter along with 40 other guests. We ate outside since it was a beautiful day. 2 hrs after we ate, I went to use the restroom and was told the septic system was out of order- no toilets were working!!! Needless to say we headed straight for home and during that 45 minute drive my legs were crossed intently ROFL! We made it, whew! But I hear your pain at not having anything working :(

Do hope things have settled down by now, Brenda ... that you've been able to get some help with the septic issues and that you're feeling better as a result. Your little panda is adorable ... what a fabulous idea to use that brusho panel for the balloon, it has such a great sense of depth to all that luscious colour! Sweet, star holding panda on your second card ... the frame really draws the eye to the sentiment ... one of my favourite words! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

Absolutely BRILLIANT! what GREAT ideas and both are so well done and professional looking. Love both as they are, but adding the extra words will work too.

I agree about doing things instead of computing! I'm trying to do the same. Life goes on and MUST come in the way. LOL.

Two super cards, Brenda. The pandas are so cute! The colours on the balloon are beautiful and a great use of the Brusho paper. I love your clever idea of the panda replacing the 'O' in JOY and the little star he's holding is a perfect finishing touch.

Hope you get your septic issues sorted out soon and that you'll soon be feeling better. xx

Cute cards Brenda! Love the little panda! Hope you get your septic problems done soon. I know what your are saying about getting someone to come out to fix it. Hard to get anybody to come out to fix anything. Nobody want to work anymore it seems.
Have a great day!

What fabulous cards Brenda! I love both of them - the panda is utterly adorable! Great way to use the huge die cut balloon and also the panda in the word joy - great idea!

I feel your pain about the septic issues - what a nightmare! We're onto our third day without hot water or central heating here. Twice they brought a part and realised there was more bits needed, sigh. But - apart from having to boil kettles of water and wrap up warm (luckily it's turned mild again here) it's not as bad as what you're going through! Hope it's fixed for you real soon!

And I also hope you feel better soon as well.

Sending love and a special cuddle from Dudley!

Hugs

These are both so cute! What an adorable Panda image and you changed it up so well, Brenda.

I hope you get your septic issues sorted. I remember our second house was on septic and I used to have to put fertilizer down the toilet once a month to keep it activated. I am sure they sell something specific for that now, but fertilizer was what was used 40 years ago!

I don't know how I missed this post. Your play with brushos made a great balloon. I never like my brushos either. They always look to dark. But yours is lovely. The pandas are a cute idea and both cards are so sweet. I hope your septic is fixed now. That can be a mess.
