Little things....

Hello my crafty friends, hope you are having a great ending to your week. Mine has been so so and right now I am taking care of my second to youngest granddaughter. So that will keep me occupied for until Friday evening when her dad comes to get her.

CAS Mix Up is on it's second challenge and I thought I would try and play along. Luckily I had the stenciled background and leaf already in my box of things that I didn't use. So I just threw a card together. It looks like it too, but I will still use it. I had wanted the brick wall for a window frame, but do you think I can find my window frame die anywhere?!! NO! I know I'm over looking it somehow. Anyway if this isn't CAS enough Loll or Bonnie, please delete it! The challenge this month is to use a stencil, and stamping and other technique of our choice. So I have my stenciled background, and of course my stamping is my sentiment. The technique of my choice is the leaf, I used alcohol inks on the felt pad and pounced the inks on this leaf that was cut from photo paper. Been in my cast off box for over a year, so it is good to use it. Added some sequins and called it done. Not sure if my card pieces are considered snippets or not, so might go over to the Snippets Playground before the door closes.

As always, thanks for stopping by for a spell. I've had some pretty weather this week and it was good to have visitors on nice days like these. Your comment are so special to me and bring me much joy and smiles. Crafty hugs, Brenda

This is fabulous Brenda! I certainly think it's CAS, but of course, it's not my decision. I LOVE it, the way that nature meets man made and makes for one cohesive beauty! Fancy not using that fabulous leaf before . . . it looks so real! Have a wonderful day my friend! Hazel xx

Oh my gosh Brenda. This card is gorgeous! Love the brick stenciled background ... but it's the leaf that is the star. I think your technique is called polished stone ... and the colours you've used are beautiful!! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

I love the background on your card. The leaf looks great with the brick background! I had my grand kids last week and had cold weather then, so we're unable to get outside. Both of them were sick on different days of the week. This week has been beautiful and I have enjoyed getting outside. I miss you on the blog, but understand, may God be your constant comfort.
Hugs,
Caroline

Well, it looks pretty CAS to me. I like the lightly stenciled brick wall, and now that you've posted this, you'll find that *%#%! window die! That leaf looks incredible and I totally agree with your sentiment. The smattering of sequins really gives this card a balanced look too. Wonderful card. Love it! Bev

This is one of the best cards I think I've seen you do! It's simply gorgeous! Love the colors on that leaf...looks exactly like what we see around SC in early fall. Great work on the brick stenciling, and I love that sentiment too. Well done for meeting 2 challenges, Kiddo! Enjoy the granddaughter too. TFS & Hugs MM

Wow, this is an amazing card Brenda, the beautiful vibrant leaf against the subtle brick wall makes a wonderful contrast. The sentiment is perfect too. It was meant to be, funny how parts of a card that has been in a box for a year make a wonderful card. And then we do have things in that box that we pick up and never know what to do with too :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Love and hugs

"Thrown together"? Are you kidding me? Your pretty leaf (swooning over the colours and 'sheen') set atop that amazing brick stencil (why do I not have one like that! Need to remedy that at some point *grin*)!), is one CASilicious delight! Gorgeous in every way! WOW! Hope your missing die reappears. I'm laughing at Bev's comment that it (she was more 'descriptive' than I am) likely did, the minute you finished your card! I'm sure it will show up soon! Great to hear your weather's been wonderful and you've had visitors. Wish I could be one of those lucky people spending time with you...
Sending you warm thoughts and big hugs this Saturday evening!

Brenda your idea of what a thrown together card looks like and mine are at complete odds to each other.
This cards is a perfect representation of CAS with awesome colour, texture and detail too huni. I love this card it makes me want to reach out and stroke it. I have always adored the rich colours of autumn and I think you have caught that vibe without realising it, hope your weekend is going well sweetie Karen x

This is a beautiful card Brenda. I can't believe you put that leaf away and didn't use it. It is so pretty with the alcohol inks and it looks great on your stenciled brick wall. I'm living along with that sentiment. It is the little things.
