Project Life

Hello my crafty friends, I sure this post finds you gearing up for the Super Bowl! Who are you rooting for?? I don't have a particular team I'm rooting for and I watch mainly for the half time show and the commercials. lol And to be with my guys, which this year it will be just hubby and I. But that is ok, I'm sure our youngest will be texting his dad about the game. Our oldest won't be home to see it, he is training in LA with the Army. He always misses out on these fun times and I won't be sad when he finally retires from the Army and is home with his family. But that is a mother's perspective as a mother always wants her kids safe at home with their families. We are also gearing up for the snow. Looks like we dodge another bullet as we are only supposed to get a coating to 2 inches of snow-mixed bag and then turn to rain, DS at college will be getting close to 4, 8 or 10 inches so say the weathermen. Glad that isn't us. I'm good with just a coating or 2 inches. Now the mixed snow and ice-yeah I could do without that but it will be coming when we are in bed and then it is changing over to rain, so should be fine as far as the roads go around here.

Well enough about the weather! Janice over at Bimini Moose has a challenge going on with Project Life. I've decided to get into PL (I've done a few already) because I'm so far behind with scrapping my pictures and the guys have been giving me a hard time about it. So PL to the rescue! This should help me get my back pictures done, but still give me the feel of scrapping some too. I don't plan on giving up scrapping the traditional way though. So I picked a year that needed scrapping and got started. This layout is from New Year's Eve. We don't usually stay up to ring in the New Year, but we would have friends and family over to celebrate New Year's Eve, then everyone goes home and we either go to bed or ring in the New Year-mostly we went to bed and now that we are older we still go to bed. lol We always get woke up though from the other people around celebrating, and we will give each other a kiss and say Happy New Year, then roll over and go back to sleep. We're lots of fun aren't we?!  I used a PL kit from SU. Becky Higgins teamed up with them to bring some kits in SU colors and I have to say that I love these kits. I didn't get "scrappy" with this layout because there wasn't much I wanted to do or had to use. So I kept it simple.  I did use My Creative Time alpha dies for my title and her PL numbers for my date. I also used a SU date stamp as well. Janis sometimes has a twist to the challenge and for this time it is to make a list on your PL layout. I hope you had fun looking at my PL layout, it is simple yes, but it has the picture in now and the guys can look at the albums once again.

As always thanks for taking time from your busy day and visiting little ole me. Your comments mean the world to me. Have fun watching the Super Bowl! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Fantastic pocket page layouts!! I love that you're working on your older pics (me too!) Love the journalling cards you added! I'm glad you didn't get as much snow as you were expecting :) Thanks for linking up to Bimini Moose- hope to see you again soon!

Hope all that snow and bad weather just makes a detour around you Brenda!
Great pages and it looks like everyone was having a good time! Something to always treasure and look back on and enjoy again and again.

Well darn! I don't see any of the pictures of your PL pages! They're all blank here on my pc. I guess the snow is causing fits, because I've been having blogger issues for a couple weeks now......sigh.
The commercials were downright awful this year for the SuperBowl! The Budweiser puppy add was enjoyable, but the rest were pretty dull! I did see a hilarious Subaru ad on the puppy bowl though! That one made everything worthwhile :)
Have a good week ahead and keep the shovel handy! I know we're getting something wet, but I'll have to wait and see if it's rain or snow in the AM :)

Good luck scrapping. Unfortunately none of the pictures are showing. Maybe they will later.

We ended up with 5" this morning with it already raining, not sure if it may have been different before the rain the totals. Yep we celebrate New Years the same way :) Will have to come back later to check out the pics blogger is not posting them this morning for some odd reason :) We rooted for the Patriots the hubby is a huge fan :) since 1976, I've been a fan of Brady since he started and got to watch him play throughout his career :) since my team wasn't doing anything.

Good for you for getting back to scrapping - I need to do the same. I think your CAS layouts really work well. But I can't see your cards :(

For some reason all your photo's are blanked out, Brenda ... may be me, may be blogland ... sorry I can't see them! Keep warm in all your harsh weather! Hugs, Anita :)

Not sure if this is the 'missing picture' post, but I can see these just fine. So perhaps you found them! (or I'm not at the right post!!!). What a sweet way of preserving your wonderful memories of each New Year. I like this look (have no intention of starting it myself though!) I'll just enjoy yours. This looks really good. (but then I'm not certain what it IS supposed to look like, but I like this!) Hugs

Brenda this is really good. I think PL is suppose to make scrapbooking much easier and faster. I love what you did here. I started out scrapbooking then changed to cards. I would spend hours cutting and matting before I ever got to journaling. This is so much better and I am so far behind You got a lot of pictures in with simple journaling but told the whole story. Great job.

Hugs my friend :) Thanks for the comments on the cookie layout. We did can 28 qts of spaghetti sauce on Sunday along with 2 pints

What a fabulous job you've done! I love the photos and all the journaling. It's so important to write down little things so years from now our descendants will know who is who. This is fabulous. Thank you so much for linking up! I hope you'll come link up again. A new challenge started today at Bimini Moose. See you there! :) Janis

Love all your PL pages, Brenda! Glad I am able to see them. ;) I understand you wanting your son home safe with family!!! Mother's always worry about their kids - little or grown!!! Hope you enjoyed the Super Bowl. It was a great game!! Leslie xo

Your PL pages are sheer delights, especially since you're capturing - and keeping - treasure memories alive in a 'concrete' way! The photos are fabulous: you've allowed them to shine in the layout/designs you've chosen. While 'part' of me is intrigued by scrapbooking, the reality is that we simply don't take enough pictures for me to fully embrace taking up the task. If we did...oh my goodness! I would be so far behind, it would be ridiculous! Your New Year's Eve is more eventful than ours! We usually watch a movie and are asleep before midnight! Exciting? NOT! Still, I love the little 'tradition' we have (of course, this year was different...). I'll be joining in your happy dancing when all your sons are home with their families and with you! Having your loved ones nearby is so important!
Hugs, dear friend~c
