Look Who's Here-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, here we are at Monday again. This is going to be a fast post because we are doing the college freshman orientation thing with our son for the next two days. So glad we can depend on our other son to hold down the fort for us!!

As you know today is a new challenge day over at BBTB2. Maureen has chosen our theme for us and it is owls. Who doesn't love these cute furry birds, especially the paper ones?! lol I did a layout for on of my granddaughters. Actually it is a second page to a layout I did a while back. I just need to find the picture I want to put on it. It is a simple layout and but I think it turned out pretty cute. I used the Close to My Heart Artbooking cartridge, MCT butterfly dies and SB's die for the oval mat that I will journal in with the baby's stats. Isn't this owl adorable?! There was another one but I didn't use it, I opted for some butterflies on this layout instead. I love how the overlay looks on my shimmer paper and love that frame for my picture. The picture will slip right into the slots and no I didn't glue my round mat down on the picture side, I left it open where I could slid my photo in. I think this will look fabulous with my "Hello World" layout. I hope you like it too. Thanks for stopping by today and I will see you soon!! Crafty hugs, Brenda

My sweet friend, this layout has all the makings of 'adorable and cute', especially with that cutie-patootie owl perched on his branch, overlooking the photos yet to come! I can only imagine how fabulous this will be once you add photos and details. A keepsake to treasure, indeed! Travel safely to the orientation - and enjoy learning about what your son's next year will involve. Even though I know you'll feel on the brink of tears often (and that's 1000% a-okay!! He's your baby!), remember that he's only 2.5 hours away. Distance can be hard, however, the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" rings true! My prediction is that your boy will be missing home more than you may realize - and he'll be heading for mom and dad's companionship at every opportunity! Looking forward to hearing from you when you return. May the journey be safe and fun!! Hugs galore, dear friend! ~c

Your layout is so cute with that precious owl, and I love the tiny butterfly too! The title looks amazing! I hope you're having a grand time with orientation, and spending precious time with your youngest son! It will bring big changes for both you and your son, but this is the way life goes. The kids grow up and leave home one day, and it's sad, but such a happy time for your children at the same time! Be proud Mom - you did good :)

Thank you Brenda for the nice comments and yes you want to go see Steamtown it's one of the better national historic sites our state offers and we got lots of cool historic parks throughout the state. We went on a weekday so it wasn't to over crowded. Do you still have my email saved from when we were in Jo's group I may still have one of yours save and can send you an email that way :) Watch for traffic too when you come up I think it may be while LL is going on and with it being the 75th year this year it's really going to be packed around here I think

Aw, this is just cute as can be, and love the way you've left the spacing for the future pictures. That is darling with the way you've got the little owl on his twig, then that sentiment. So cute. That overlay stencil piece is awesome trim too, so much dimension. Good job, Granma! TFS & Hugs

LOVE LOVE LOVE your layout-the overlay looks beautiful and I love the design of the layout! It will go wonderfully with the other page, which I remember seeing! Hope your back is also doing better.
