My Hero

Hello my crafty friends, happy TGIF to you all! As you know if it is Friday then it is time for a Jo's Funday Friday challenge.  We were ask to design a project that is patriotic. Well for me I decided to do a layout for my oldest soldier son. He is deployed all the time (it seems like) and I am keeping an album for him and myself to give to his children when they are older or I die, which ever comes first. Currently he is on his 5th deployment.  For this layout I used all papers and embellishments from my stash. The company that I got a lot of it from isn't in business anymore and oh how I miss them. I also used my Cricut cartridges Opposites Attract and Fabulous Finds. I hope you will go over to Jo's Scrap Shack and see what inspiration my design team sisters have for you and then I hope you read the rules and join us by linking up with a project. We love when you get crafty with us!

Anything Goes! My Paper Crafting Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, hope you all are doing well this hump day. I'm sad to say that this is my last day to create over at My Paper Crafting.  Summer takes up a lot of my time with mowing grass, trimming brushes, running the hubby to and fro between fields, etc...I don't craft as much during the summer as I do in the fall/winter. So I am going to miss all the gals at My Paper Crafting. Melin has been a wonderful hostess and is incredibly talented. I sure hope you will continue to follow her and see what all she is coming up with next!! Her digi's and cut files are amazing and so fun to work with. So with that said, I am hoping to one day be back designing with her and her wonderful team!! Thanks for a wonderful 6 months Melin, I had a blast designing for you!!

Now on to my card. Our challenge today is anything goes. So since it is so close to July, I thought I would do a patriotic card.  I used my Cuttlebug with the Stars folder and the Diamond Plate folder for my background, ribbon to make my flag, Viva Decor Pearls for the "stars" on the flag, the pole is just a piece of scrap kraft paper and my USA is from the Cricut cart Base Camp. I saw this card on Pinterest I think. lol Not really sure, but I can tell you that I lifted it from somewhere. Thought it was so cute to make a flag from ribbon!  I hope you will go over to My Paper Crafting and check out what else goes with my design team sisters!  I am still on a couple other design teams so I will still have projects coming, just not quite as often over the summer. So enjoy your summer like I intend to enjoy mine! Before we know it, old man winter will be back and I will be house bound once again. Yes, I tend to hibernate in the winter. lol So I gotta enjoy the great outdoors while I can. Happy Crafting!

Cuddly Critters-Jo's Funday Friday

Hello crafty friends, happy TGIF to you all!! Since it is Friday that means that it is time for a new challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. Our theme for this week is Cuddly Critters. Lawn Fawn is the sponsor as well!!! How exciting is that!! If you have any Lawn Fawn stamps, dies, etc...please us them in your project should you decided to link up with Jo's Funday Friday. I don't have any I'm sad to say. But I used punches to make my card. This card is totally lifted from Pinterest. I'm a please with how it came out and it went together fairly quick. My card base is 5x5. The papers I used are all from my scrap bin. I used embossing folders as you can see. I embossed my little lamb pieces, only the white ones with the Divine Swirls. I used 2 scallop punches for the body, the head was punched with a small oval, cut in half. The ears is a 1/2 circle punch, cut in half. My eyes are the same size punch for both the white and the black. You will need 2 white tiny circles, and 1 black tiny circle cut in 1/2. I forget what size this circle was, but it is a SU punch, tiny circle. The legs is the Modern Label punch, cut in 1/2 and thinned out some. The "wool" on the head is two little flowers from an SU punch as well. I popped up the smaller scallop. I also cut out some of the embossing embossed on white paper. I added some "candy" adhesive dots that are new from SU.  I used my MS punch and punched a border for the bottom and stamped my sentiment on that. Welcome Baby is a sentiment from My Creative Time. Added a bow and called it done! Pretty cute huh?!

IFTL Project-My Paper Crafting

Hello my crafty friends, it's time for "I Feel The Love" project over at My Paper Crafting. Here is the story of this months recipient:

I FEEL THE LOVE PROJECT - Ifeeltheloveproject.org

This month the I Feel the Love Project is highlighting a very special little angel, Baby Mason.  Baby Mason received his wings when he was just six months old.  Unfortunately, he was killed when the car he was riding in was struck by a drunk driver.  His family is devastated as you can well imagine.  At the time that this video was taken, Baby Mason was still in the hospital fighting for his life.

To read the rest please go here. Please think about this family by keeping them in your thoughts and prayers. And please think about sending a card as well. You can send your cards to:

Project #22

For my card I used Elegant Edges for my scallop circle mat. I stamped my flower and then my sentiment. I added a few green shapes, some buttons and some pearls. My colors are really off in these pictures. This card looks much prettier in real life.

You Make Life Sweeter! BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, Happy Monday to you! Today at BBTB2 our own sweet and talented Stephanie gave us the challenge of "summer foods", so come and get it! We can use any Cricut cartridge and make any project.  I chose the Popsicle for my summer food.  I made an A2 size card, for my mat I used some paper from my scrap stash that came from a DCWV stack, my popsicles came from the Imagine cartridge Yummy. I added some seam binding that I had dye that was in my stash and tied a bow around the mat. Added some tiny Favorite Findings buttons and my PTI sentiment. Then took some glossy accents and placed on the recessed areas of the popsicles to look like they were melting some. And that is it, I called it done. I hope you will go check out all the awesome summer foods projects that my design team sisters have for you at BBTB2, you will find lots of inspiration there! Then why not get crafty with us and link up your summer food project?!! We always love it when you get crafty with us!

Another Recipe

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are enjoying a pleasant Sunday with your father's. We had a lovely day with the kids and grand-kids stopping by for the ones that live around us. The other's called to wish their Dad a happy day except for our son who is deployed. He doesn't always have access to contact us, but I hope he was able to call home to his children so they could tell him Happy Father's Day. So on our married guys I usually make them a yummy and give them a card for Father's Day. So for my #2 son I gave him one of his favorite desserts and that is tandy cake. He loves peanut butter and chocolate together. Who doesn't right?! lol So one of the things I used to make all the boys when they were home was tandy cakes. Just like the hostess cakes-remember their tandy cakes?? Well mine are along the same lines of them.  Here's a picture of them after I spread the chocolate on top:

And here is my my son digging in to them (see the cutie beside him, yep that's my grand-daughter):

And here is my DIL and my other cutie grand-daughter getting fed ice cream by her Pap-paw, she is a bird I tell you:

Sorry I didn't get a picture of the cake after it was taken out of the pan, we all were to busy eating it. lol  But here is the recipe if you want to try it for yourself.

Tandy Cake

You will want to bake this in a jelly roll pan at 350 degrees for 25 minutes

4 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. oil
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
peanut better
melting chocolate

Mix all ingredients together and place in a greased jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25  minutes. Take from oven and immediately spread peanut butter on top of the hot cake. I don't have a measurement for this, I just plop it on there and spread it around.

Let the cake and peanut butter cool completely. Then once cooled melt chocolate and spread over the top of the peanut butter. Once again I don't measure, I just plop it on and spread it around.

After the chocolate has set up you can slice into bars and enjoy. Very simple and easy recipe to make.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you for the lovely comments!  Come back tomorrow for a sweet post for BBTB2! Until then....crafty hugs!
