Finally Back With a Project!

Hello crafty friends, long time no blog! It has been a struggle for me since the Friday of Memorial weekend. I had a fall that broke front ribs and back ribs. Was out of commission for quite a while. Bret took a family emergency day that Friday morning as it happened before he left for work. Since it was a long weekend for him, I was hoping I would be ok once he went back to work on Tuesday. When Tuesday came around, it was plain to see that I wasn't going to be able to care for the dogs. So he worked from home the whole week. So thankful for him and his job that he was able to work from home. He was going to take vacation days instead and then decided to just work from home. So he took care of the dogs and me, cause it hurt to just to sit, and definitely move. Now I'm doing so much better, but sure took a long time to heal. I can still feel a back rib, especially when I lay down in bed or turn a certain way and a front rib will bother me from time to time. So still have a way to go. I might not ever be back to normal though, broke these ribs to many times. 5 times total, 4 times in the last two years. If I don't start being more careful, it will be a walker for me! And I don't want that, not at the age of 59!

Anyway, I did a little crafting. Some before my fall and some just the other day. Sharing the cute mason jar tissue holders that I have made today. I have made 5 of them so far, two have already been given away and I forgot to get photo's of them. But I have the other three. Just used some chalk spray paint and a black spray paint on some of the lids, not all of them though. Kept some the gold color and just wrapped twine on the gold lids that I got  from the Dollar Tree. Then using my Cricut and some black vinyl, put my design on. I am making more of them, spray painting when it isn't to windy outside. These make cute gifts and a great little hostess gift. I love making them! I have been sticking to a white/black/gold color combo because I figure they will go with any color of decor, but they would be so pretty in other colors of chalk paint as well. These have been hugely popular all over blogland and Pinterest. So far they have been well received as gifts as well.

Now if you are squeamish, don't look at these photos of my fall. I will leave you with my lovely bruised body of the day of the fall, it got uglier and took a month for the bruising to leave. But it was the ribs that was the worst for wear!

Donation Worthy????

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are staying warm where ever you are. I'm back today because I need your trusted opinion on whether the start of my projects are donation worthy. You see the owners of Utz Potato Chip have a Pink Out for all women's cancers at their mansion every May. They give away lots of door prizes-well you buy a ticket for the door prizes, all for the cause. Anyway they take donations of many things to give out and I signed up to make some things to donate. I've only made a few things thus far, but starting to doubt myself on whether they are really donation worthy. So that is where I need your help. Please let me know your true feelings on whether these items are good enough to donate for this cause and if you won one of them would you be happy with any of these. Please don't worry about hurting my feelings either! I really want to know, it would hurt me more to donate something that isn't worth it. Ok?!!!

Ok here we go, this is what I have so far.

Up first are ornaments that I made to look like snowmen in little hats. I plan on making glittered ornaments with the floor polish as well and some fabric ones.

Farmhouse stuff is so in, so I made this wooden sign about home. Kept neutral because of not knowing who will get it or their color schemes.

With the "home" left over from the above project, I use it to make this shadow box. I cut out more "love" in white cardstock and stacked them to get dimension. Added the cool rustic paper and my vinyl saying and dimensional daisies. I tried to keep this neutral too because of not knowing people's color schemes.

Here it is angled so you can see the dimension of the home and daisies.

So what do you think? Are these good enough to donate to this worthy cause, would you be happy with any of these as a door prize???? Or should I scrap them and start over? Thank you my crafty friends, you are the best and I trust and value your opinions!!!

Crafty hugs,

Candy Corn Anyone?

Hello my crafty friends, I'm posting! Can you believe it?!!!! Well my design team obligations started today over at Cardz TV Gallery, so I will be back to posting twice a month at least. Still super busy with training Miss Savannah and we are getting there very slowly. I also was busy with last minute favors for a friend who was getting remarried in the Catholic church. The wedding was Saturday, so glad to have that done! Good news is that I was told I can have a job of making wedding favors for the restaurant that the wedding reception was held in! Wow, I just thought the favors were plain, simple so I could just get them done. So I'm excited about that.

Today I have a little home decor project for you. I got the cut files from My Scrap Chick for these adorable candy corn boxes.  They aren't a box you can put any thing in, just for decor. I used a fall set of stamps and some Halloween sets from Cardz TV because I made it fall on one side of the candy corn and Halloween on the other side. So all I have to do is flip them around to keep them out a little longer!  They look so cute on the shelves and now I can't wait to get out the pumpkins to decorate!  Will be back this week with the favors I made for the adults and grandchildren and the place cards for the tables. Until then have a wonderful Sunday!!

Floating Frame

Hello crafting friends, I hope your hump day is going well. It is rainy here today, so it makes for a lazy day, not necessarily a good thing. lol  I did a floating frame for some friend's anniversary along with a tag to hang from it. I will be apologizing to my friends, they are more like family to us, but I had all intentions of giving this to them for their anniversary back in Oct. Yes, back in Oct.!!! I had forgotten all about cutting it out and putting it on glass. So when I saw it, I got busy right away. The SVG file I used came from SVG Attic. I used a system's font for their last name that was in my computer and stretched and sized their name to suit my space, I also sized and stretched the SVG "M" to get what I wanted. I cut this on my Cricut Explore on the vinyl setting. It cut perfectly with the "kiss" cut. Using transfer tape, I placed it on the cleaned glass using my T-Ruler to get it as straight as I could. Trust me even with a ruler I don't get things straight, this is as good as it gets with me. lol

I then set to making the tag. I had a pre-cut tag that came in an order as a freebie, it also came with the flowers. So I took some scrap paper and dressed up the tag, added a bow I had already had made using scraps, I used the SU Bow Punch to make it. Then I stamped my sentiments on the tag, tape it on the back of the frame and let it hang over. The Cardz TV Stamps I used are "Congratulations" and "Count Your Blessings" and you can find them here. I crossed out the "I" and "my" to put "we" and "our".

As always thank you for taking time out from your busy schedule to visit me. Your comments always make my day! Crafty hugs, Brenda
