It's All About Cake! BBTB2 Challenge
Hello my crafty friends, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! It was a good one here in Central PA. Saturday was warm but very, very windy. I thought the house was going to blow away a few times. lol Hubby and I took a 4 wheeler ride after he was done working on the corn planter. It was so windy that the wind took hubby's breath a few times. I was on the back hanging on so I was good because I was behind him. Sunday was gorgeous, not as warm but simply beautiful. So hubby suggested going for a ride up in the orchards. It was a beautiful ride and we saw some of the orchard trees in bloom. Not sure if it was pear or peach trees, but they were lovely. Saw some apple blossoms too, but not many. Now we are in for a rainy week. Today hubby has a treatment, but not chemo. This new treatment is only 1 1/2 hours, not 5 hours like chemo. It cuts the blood supply off to the cancer cells and tumor somehow, so he will be doing that every 3rd week. He will start chemo pills next week-4 pills at breakfast and 4 at supper for 2 weeks. Then the 3rd week he goes for that treatment. So I think this will be a little easier on him-more normal if you will. Doc will then do another CAT scan later then after hubby does this treatment for a while. So he is getting there!
Ok on to the project at hand. Our very talented and sweet design team sister, Diana, has given us the challenge of "cake". Well that is easy enough! Who doesn't love cake? Cupcakes, layered cakes, sponge cakes, crumb cakes-well see my family could eat cake all the time, as long as it didn't have icing in it for my youngest. He is so like me when I was young. lol Other than that, he is completely like his dad! I can always use birthday cards in my stash, so I made a birthday card. I used the Artiste cartridge for my cupcake and last weeks Mojo Monday sketch. Everything goes together so well when I have a sketch. lol I used a die cut for my border going across the middle, my cream square is a piece that came out the middle of another die cut, so I used it for my sentiment. My cupcake "cherry" is a regular size pony bead that I melted to make my own homemade enamel dots as are the tiny pink and blue ones-those are 5 mm sized pony beads, melted. My sentiments came from a Cardz TV stamp set. My papers came from a Hobby Lobby 4 x 6 stack, I just love the fun designs and colors in this stack! So lets see your "cake" projects! Link up with BBTB2 but please remember this is a Cricut challenge, so you must use your Cricut for the challenge themed cut. I'm looking forward to seeing your wonderful projects! As always thanks for stopping by today. I love your sweet comments, you always make me smile! Crafty hugs, Brenda

For my project today I used the Congratulations stamp set and made this graduation card for my youngest son who is graduating high school next month. I can't believe my baby will be leaving the nest in August for college. sniff sniff I'm sure gonna miss the little turd! But good news is that he won't be far from home. Only 2 1/2 hours! Yippee!! lol I used Mary's technique for a shaker card by cutting out 8 pieces of the frame I wanted to use and glued them all together except for the 8th one. It made it nice and thick to place my red/white/blue sequins in. Why red/white/blue sequins?? Well my son's school colors are grey and maroon and that was what I intended on using until my son and I were talking. What's when I found out he preferred their athletic colors of red/white/blue. So that's what I used. My enamel dots are homemade from pony beads, they were the tiny one ones, 5 mm in size. My sentiment on the front of my card is from the Cardz TV Congratulations stamp set. My grad hat and date is from My Creative Time. I would have used Mary's graduation set but I couldn't find one in her store. Mary, we need a stamp set for graduations. lol
On the left inside those are just 2 studio g sentiments and I used a grad cap from My Creative Time. And my sentiments on the right hand side of the card are from My Creative Time too. Like I said I would have used a graduation set from Mary had she had one. And maybe there are sets that Mary has that might have sentiments for graduation in them and I just missed them. Not sure. Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for all your kind comments! They always make me smile :-)
Just a note: This card wasn't my idea. I got this idea from here.

Spring Has Finally Sprung!-Cardz TV Challenge
Hello my crafty friends, here we are at another Friday and the month is all but gone. Has spring sprung where you are? I think it is finally here in PA. Just last week it was a 50+ temp drop for Tuesday into Thursday. Then our temps went back to the 60's and now we have been swinging from the 50's to low 60's. Some places got a foot of snow, so glad it wasn't us!! lol I feel for the ones who are still getting snow, not fun-not in April! Although one time in the 1800's it snowed in June! Of course the snow didn't hang around long, but they had a measurable snow fall in June. I wonder it this is going to be a year like that? I sure hope not! I'm ready for nice warm weather, not hot, but warm. lol It's either feast or famine isn't it? Anyway way, our challenge at Cardz TV is Spring. I'm sad to say that this is my last challenge with Cardz TV and I've had a blast designing for Mary using her stamps. They are so fun to work with and such a great quality too. Just a joy to use them. The gals on the team are so amazingly friendly and so talented and made me feel very welcome. A great DT to be on for sure and one that I will miss! Thank you so much Mary for having me on your awesome team!!! I will be back on Sunday though as Mary is having a blog hop to introduce you to here 4 new stamp sets. The 3D team is on Saturday and the card team is on Sunday. So I will be back on Sunday with a fun project so I hope you will come back and have a look see.
For the challenge today, I made two cards. They are clean and simple cards and I love them. I used these stamps for my cards today.
For my first one I used My Creative Time umbrella and boot dies as well as the Polaroid frame. Sweet and simple! I made this one a spring and Easter card.
This card is just embossed at the top and bottom. I ran some score lines under and on top of the embossing. Punched some daisies and added a gem to them. I used part of a Cardz TV sentiment that was "ladybug hugs and daisy kisses". I masked the "ladybug hugs" and just used the daisy kisses. I wish I had a ladybug stamp or punch, but I don't, I just love that sentiment! lol
Hope you will link up your spring cards with us at Cardz TV and don't forget you could win some of Mary's wonderful stamps! For more inspiration go and check out what my design team sisters have for you! You won't be sorry! As always thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you will come back Sunday too. Crafty hugs, Brenda

I Scream for Ice Cream!
Hello my crafty friends, how your Wednesday is going well since you are halfway through the week. It's much cooler here, like 20 degrees cooler and very, very windy. I've just heard my empty outside garbage can fall over. lol Anyway I have a simple but cute card for you today. It is another CAS card. Over at Cardz TV, Mary had a post about a little boy who has cancer and she was asking for cards to be sent to him. Here is the link to Mary's post. How could I not send this sweet little boy a card? So here it is. I went with the ice cream cone because I thought who doesn't love ice cream?! I die cut my cone and assembled it, then I stamped the dotted box on to my pattern paper, which is from JoAnn's. The dotted box is from My Creative Time called Small Talk stamp set. In the open spot on the box, I stamp a sentiment from Cardz TV called Sugar Rush. I used a regular sized homemade enamel dot made from pony beads for the cherry on the cone and I used a Peachy Keen face stamp on the ice cream. I also die cut the little gold stars from this die. Finished off my card with some small home made enamel dots at the top and bottom. One off white, one yellow and one white. One the inside I used another sentiment from the Sugar Rush stamp set. I really hope that you all will consider sending this boy a sweet card to brighten his day. And if you scroll down on my blog you will find another boy who is fighting cancer and would love to have a card from you too. If just a simple little card brings joy to these children, why not do it?? I know when I'm sick a card always lifts my spirits.
As always thank you for stopping by today and visiting with me. Your comments always bring a smile to my face! I also hope you will stop back by again soon. Hope you have a great finish to your week! Crafty hugs, Brenda

UR Out of this World
Hi my crafty friends, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Been in a little funk, but I am on my way out of it. lol Plus I've started mowing grass. I love to mow, but not in the cool air and our air has been a little on the cool side. We did get up to 68 and 70 for 2 days, but a cold front came in after a thunder boomer so tomorrow we are only to be in the 50's. On the cool side for this time of year for us. I have a feeling that this summer is going to be a cooler one. So might be enjoying the hot tub more than the pool. Hope not, but only time will tell.
Ok on to the matter at hand. This is the card that I made for Chris, the boy who has cancer again. I wanted to let him know how amazing he is. So I kept my card clean and simple. Well I don't know if a card has pattern paper on it still means it's a CAS card. But anyway it is still pretty simple. I used paper from DCWV All About Boy's paper stack. I stamped a little spaceship from a birthday stamp set from Paper Trey Ink and colored it a little with my Spectrum Noir markers and the sentiment came from it too. The "u & r" came from My Creative Time called "Any Day Bingo and Crossword Stamp Set" and the stitched square came out of something I die cut out from My Creative Time, sorry not sure what it was. I used my SU corner punch in the large and small corners, layering them and placing them on my card to draw the eye in to the spaceship. I stamped "out of this world" under a martian spaceship, thought is was a cute place to put it. And that's it. I didn't do the inside because I wanted space to write in it.
I want to thank you for stopping by my neck of the woods and visiting with me. I hope you have enjoyed your visit and hope that you will come back again soon. And I will try to get some projects up for you. I hope you all are having lovely weather and are getting crafty. Until next time....crafty hugs, Brenda

Happy Easter!-BBTB2 Challenge
Hello my crafty friends, happy Monday to you all!! I hope your week is starting out great. It is a chemo day for us and we have been blessed in that we aren't going to chemo in the snow anymore. lol Hubby is doing well, but had to take our little dog in to the vet last week. She has diabetes, so now I need to give her 2 shots of insulin a day. I think we are falling apart around here. lol She is doing so much better now that she is getting the insulin and I'm very thankful for that and for how well hubby is doing! We are indeed blessed.
I am host this week for BBTB2 and I have given my design team sisters the challenge of any kind of Easter project. Easter is this Sunday, so I know you all are busy getting those last minute Easter projects done. I have been working on my grandchildren's Easter cards, so that's what I have for you today. This is the first time that I made them all the same. Usually I do something different for each one. And even though they are the same, they are different too. I used different colors for each child. I still have two more to get done and will probably work on them after chemo today. I used the Cricut cartridge Spring Holiday Cards to make the cards. I love the one that says "some bunny loves you" because we sure do love these little precious ones. That saying that grandchildren complete the circle of life sure is true! We adore spending time with the little ones and plan on doing just that this week by dying eggs with 2 of our granddaughters. Other granddaughter is to young at only 2 months old, 2 are in NY and the other 2 we don 't even know where they are. So we send love to them through the good Lord. Now aren't these cards just too cute?! Plain, but still cut to me. I used google eyes for them and little pink crystals for the nose of the bunny. I think the grands will love them cause they are cute and a little bit funny. lol Now it is your turn, link up your Easter project with BBTB2 and make sure that you follow our simple rules. Thank you for stopping by to visit with me a spell and for your sweet comments, they always put a big smile on my face. I hope your Easter is a blessed one and the day is gorgeous! Spend time enjoying the real meaning of Easter and hiding those Easter eggs! And don't get a tummy ache on all the Easter candy. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Help Make A Special Boy Smile
Hi my crafty friends, I hope this Saturday finds you well and enjoying the great outdoors. If you can't get out I hope you are enjoying time in your crafty spots. I have a huge favor to ask of you all. My friend's nephew has cancer. His leg was taken off and he did his treatments...a while back. Got a clean bill of health and went back to normal life. Well they found out that a lone cancer cell got through and the cancer is back. This boy is only 14 years old. Can you make and send him a card to help brighten his day? I know he would so appreciate any kind of card. He is a card maker himself and makes cards for his family. His name is Chris and you can read more about his first journey here. Thanks ever so much for helping to put a big smile on Chris's face! Here is his address:

As always I thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit me and now of course helping me with putting a smile on a special boy's face. Crafty hugs to you all-Brenda

He Is Risen-Cardz TV Challenge
Hello my crafty friends, happy TGIF to you all! I don't know how the weeks fly by so fast, but I do know that I still love when the weekends come. I don't work anymore so not sure why the weekends still excite me, but it does. lol Maybe it is because I always know hubby will be home and working on the farm. Or the kids would be home for the weekend. I love when the family was all together.
I want to give a shout out to some new followers. Thank you for following me and I should that I've gotten back to your blog to follow you too if you have one. I hope you leave here inspired and happy that you visited. I love visitors and I love your comments. They always make me smile and I have made many friendships too. Don't you just love the crafty people on the blogs?! I do!!
It is time for the Cardz TV Card Team to have a challenge. Our theme or challenge this time? Why Easter of course! I love all the cute bunny and chick Easter stuff but I also love to take the time to reflect on the true meaning of Easter. So my card will reflect that today. Using my Cricut and the Easter 2010 cartridge, I cut out the Lily's three time-once in green and twice in white. I cut the flowers off the white die cuts, I popped up the middle of the flower I cut out and then glued the whole works onto the green one. This cartridge doesn't have layers so you have to make your own. I then glittered the flowers with sugar glitter in Lily white. My cross is a Darice embossing folder, I embossed it and cut it out. Then taking black ink and ran across the embossing. I stamped my sentiment from Easter Blessings Cardz TV stamp set. The inside sentiments are from the same stamp set. I love this stamp set as it is perfect for a more religious Easter card. I kept my card simple and plain. But love the way it came out. Now it is your turn, go see what inspiration my design team sisters have for you over at Cardz TV and then make an Easter card and link up with us. You just may win some stamps from Cardz TV. So what are you waiting for?! As always I thank you for your visit and hope you will come back again. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Chocolate Bunnies Anyone?! BBTB2 Challenge
Hello my crafty friends, I hope this Monday finds you all well and that you had a lovely weekend. I want to thank you all that left me such wonderful comments on my Cardz TV Blog Hop project on Saturday. I was totally blown away by all the sweet comments! You all are the best and I'm thankful for each and everyone of you. Thank you to the new followers too, I think I've been around to follow you too. I will be double checking that though. We went to a healing mass on Saturday. It was a lovely service and both hubby and I went up for healing. Hubby is doing great-still in chemo, but doc said that he wasn't worried about his spleen and thinks that it is scar tissue on it from fevers (hubby had scarlet fever as a child and fevers last Sept) and not the cancer. Wonderful news!! So there is just the little spot left on his lung and hopeful with continued treatments it will go away like the one on the liver did. It has already shrunk by about 1/2 so very good news. Sounds like after another cat scan doc will be changing the treatments and hubby might go on a chemo pill-on two weeks, off one OR treatments at the chemo center every 3 weeks. We will go with whatever he says since he is the professional here. Doc also wants hubby to keep the pump for a while longer, and that's no problem because we want this cancer killed and will do whatever needs to be done. Ok, I say we, but it is really hubby who is doing all the hard work. lol So having wonderful news like this really takes the weight off our shoulders! Thank you, thank you for all your wonderful prayers, as you can see they certainly are working!
Now on to the challenge for today at BBTB2. Our talented fearless leader, Susan is our host this week, she challenged us to use bunnies on our projects this week. I went with the bunny from Easter 2010 that has a bite out of the ear. I cut it 3 times and added google eyes to each one. Cut some grass too and a little sun-can't remember where I got the sun from-it was one of the CTMH carts,I think it was Art Philosophy, but don't quote me on that! Then I took 2 of my bunnies and "bit" them some more with a small scallop punch. My sentiment came from Cardz TV called Easter Punnies. So many cute sentiments on this one! I embossed my blue layer with a clouds embossing folder and then put my scene together. My tiny butterflies is a Studio G punch. I think it is kinda' cute and who doesn't love chocolate bunnies?! lol Now it's your turn, link up your bunnies with us at BBTB2. Need more inspiration? No problem, go to BBTB2 and see what my talented design team sisters have for you.
Thanks for stopping by today and visiting with me. I always love it when you stop by and I hope to see you stop in again real soon. Crafty hugs, Brenda

I also cased this card from Carol and you can find her card here. Thanks for the inspiration Carol! You have to treat yourself and go to her blog, she makes the most awesome cards! My heart is cut out in the middle. I took the outer heart and popped it up on foam tape, the middle of the heart is popped up as well, but on 2 thickness of foam tape. My birds are just glued on the middle heart, but the embossed wings are popped up on the birds. This card would need to be hand delivered because of all the pearls. I plan on using it for my son and soon to be DIL as the wedding is the end of June. We will be placing cash inside of it as every newlyweds could use some cold hard cash! lol
Thank you for hopping with us today…we hope you had fun! And as always thank you for visiting with me today, I always love when you stop by for a spell. Crafty hugs, Brenda
