Girl Power!

Hello my crafty friends. It is my turn to post over at Cardz TV Gallery and I have a simple project for you today.  My inspiration came from a fellow crafter, Sheila of lalacrafts. Sheila made a door hanger to hang on the bedroom door for when her grandson comes to spend the night. She is going to put some goodies in it for him when he visits.  I thought that was a great idea so I had to make one for our granddaughters who love to come and spend the night from time to time. Of course I had to do the Frozen theme since our granddaughters are so into this movie. lol I used my Explore and cut my box from the Art Philosophy and did a print and cut of the Frozen sisters from the Frozen cart. I don't think I have the print and cut feature calibrated quite right just yet, so will have to work on that. I kept this door hanger simple because the girls will probably want to play with it. I did put some clear bling on it because you have to have some "ice" on a Frozen themed project! lol I know winter should be winding down by now, but our winter seems to be still in full swing. I plan on making some other door hangers to fit the season we are in. I thought I would but some little goodies in the box or coupons of things we could do and they could chose from. The Cardz TV stamp set that I used is called Girl Talk and you can find it here. I though the "girl power" sentiment was perfect with these frozen characters and I want the granddaughters to know they have girl power just like Anna and Elsa. lol So a quick and simple little project but one that will give the girls some fun. Make sure to come back the rest of the week to see what else is in store for you. We have great designers and I know they will have some awesomeness for you! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Time to Celebrate-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello crafty friends, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was pretty good. It snowed all day into the night on Saturday, we ended up with about 9 inches with a tad bit of freezing rain later in the late evening. I went shopping with my youngest son as he needed a new coat since his had gotten to short on him. Was glad to get home though, the roads were terrible, no plows had been at all and of course there are the people who drive like the roads are dry and clear. lol DS was ready to put me out his car! lol Please tell me I'm not alone with back seat driving with a teen. He is a really good driver, but it was the weather and the other nuts out there I didn't quite trust. lol Sunday was beautiful, sunny and warm at 42 degrees! After negative temps and wild winds, that 42 felt so good. Hubby pushed snow from the drive and then we took a nice 4 wheeler ride. Such beautiful scene seeing the farm land blanketed in snow!

Well as you know Monday's always bring a new challenge over at BBTB2. My sweet and talented friend, Diana, has give the DT and you the challenge of using a clock on our project. Oh man, at first I was thinking what am I going to make?!! lol But then I thought a little more, and decided on the following project. After having my Explore since before Christmas, I finally got it out the box and set it up. Oh man, does it ever cut nice! I am so loving it so far!!! I am having an issue about linking my carts. It is telling me that they are already linked. Well yes they are, to the Gypsy. So not sure what I have to do to get them to link to the Explore. So I guess I will call tomorrow. Anyway, I used one of the clock images they have in their library, it is a pocket watch and the reason I went with a pocket watch was that I have a pocket watch stamp from Studio 112. Someone had sent it to me and this is the first time using it. So yay, I used a NBUS!! (Never Been Used Schtuff) I used that stamp to make my background on my card base, I love how it turned out. Then I used MCT stitched rectangle dies to cute my black mat layer, which is a snippet, so I will be able to go play in the playground. I used MCT alpha stamps to stamp my sentiment and heat emboss it in SU white embossing powder. Using gold foil paper, I cut out my pocket watch on the Explore at 2 inches. Assembled my pocket watch and popped it up on my black mat.  I also popped up the mat layer on my card base. For the inside, I just stamped another pocket watch and die cut a gold MCT balloon in hologram paper. I haven't placed a sentiment inside yet, because I don't know what I am going to use the card for yet. It can be a birthday card, a retirement card, a new job card, etc...Lots of things to celebrate! And that is it folks, a super simple card but I am so loving it and loving the Explore.

Now it is your turn to make something with a clock and link up with us. Just make sure to use your Cricut for your clock cut, that's it! As always thanks so much for taking time out of your busy life to visit me. I am always happy to see you visit with me for a spell! Crafty hugs, Brenda

edited to add in some challenges that I'm going to play in

Snippets Playground- love going over to the playground to play and give Di some big hugs!
Time Out Challenges-"Rock Around the Clock" is the challenge. Thanks Anita for the heads up to play in this challenge as well!!

Happy Mother's Day?!!-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope where you are you are warm!!! It's cold here and I know it's cold in a lot of places. With the wind chill added in, we have been -20. That's cold baby! I feel like we live in Alaska! lol I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine this past weekend. Hubby and I enjoyed the gift the chemo center gave us and that was to stay at the Wyndham Hotel in Gettysburg, dinner for two and movie tickets. We walked up to the movie house and watched out movie. Then when we came out of the theater it was snowing like crazy, so back to the hotel we walk with the snow blowing in our faces. We looked like snowman by the time we got back to the hotel, but dummy me didn't think to take a picture. We just looked at each other and laughed. Then we shook off the snow and went up to our room to dry off and for me to dry my hair. I'm so glad we didn't have far to walk! Then we had a delicious meal in the hotel restaurant which was call 1863. They had period food, but we stuck with surf and turf. Very good, also had a crab cake for an appetizer that had some kind of slaw under it. I enjoyed it, hubby didn't care for the slaw stuff. For dessert we shared a peanut butter pie with homemade toasted marshmallow. I shouldn't  say we cause I ate it because hubby didn't care for that either. lol Yes, he is a little picky. We enjoyed our little vacation, which we both needed. But then come morning we were ready to get back home to our own stuff and bed. It was just to cold to do anything else and we don't ski to go to the ski resorts that are close by. We went a whole 10 miles away from home. lol I hope you all had a special time this past weekend!

Well today is Monday and that means it is time for a new challenge over at BBTB2. My sweet and talented design team friend Caroline has chosen the theme of "shaped cards". How easy is that?! So I used my Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge and cut the bird cage card out of a bronzy or copper colored metallic paper. For the inside I use white and backed it with black for the bird. I may go back and do some light inking on the inside. I haven't really decided just yet. I added a flower and butterfly die from My Creative Time. I used the Martha Steward branch punch for my greenery, which looking at it I think I will add a little more to balance out the left side of the flower with the right side better. I added some string pearl trim and stamped my sentiment on the inside using the CTMH stamps that came with my Artfully Sent bundle. On the inside I placed some MS punched branches with a flower button that has a liquid pearl on it. And that's it folks. A very easy and fairly quick shaped card that I think is pretty. This card will be for my MIL so it will be hand delivered and not mail. So now it is your turn, let's see those shaped cards everyone. Just make sure to use your Cricut and then link up with us over at BBTB2.

I want to thank you for taking time out of your day to visit my blog. You visits always bring excitement for me cause I love when you come to visit! Your comments always make me smile and I know how blessed I am to have such wonderful followers....not really followers but friends. That's what you are to me!! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Crazy in Love

Hello all my crafty friends, I hope you are having a wonderful hump day!! I am trying to catch up this morning with some commenting and going through emails. I was away on Monday all day, then away again yesterday all day. We went up to DS's college to look at apartments with him and boy was I exhausted when we got home! It was in and out DS's car what felt like a 100 times, in and out of his dorm room many times, up many flights of steps every place we went, sometimes to a third floor and back down. This momma is getting to old for that!! lol But it was good to spend the day with him looking at apartments. We took him to lunch and then before leaving we took him shopping to buy him some snacks/food for in his dorm. I think he was a happy camper. lol

It is my turn to post over at Cardz TV Gallery today and  I made a couple of cards. The first one is a Valentine themed, anniversary or just a love card. The stamp set I used on this one is Heart to Heart and you can find it here. I used some new Anna Griffin Cuttlebug folders that had came in the mail to me yesterday. So beautiful they are, they are for 5x7 cards, but this card is an A2 card, so not the whole embossing area is on this one. I still love it. The heart die is a Simon Say's die and I took a finger dauber with Hero Art's Shadow ink in Pale Tomato and inked the center of the heart, then I use what a left on my dauber to lightly ink the edge of the heart and around on the embossing. The heart is popped up.

My second card is a Christmas card. Yes, Christmas is done with and over, but I vowed to make Christmas cards all year long so I would have some made and ready to go when the time comes. lol  I used two of Mary's Cardz TV stamp sets on this one, Snow Day and Christmas Joy and you can find them right here. I used blue gold foil paper and silver/white glitter paper by DCWV. This is the oddest glitter paper, it is so smooth but so sparkly and no glitter comes off what so ever. But it had a plastic coating on the back which is a little hard to die cut through. This die is a Spellbinder's die, Picture Perfect and I won it back a spell at the Pixie Playground for using snippets. Love, love, love this die!! This card looks so much prettier in real life. I didn't get home last night in time to take my pictures in the daylight, so my lighting isn't very good on either card. The inside I used some left over glitter paper to punch with my Martha Steward snowflake punch. Now believe it or not this glitter paper punches awesome with a punch. Go figure, you would think it would die cut easier, not punch easier. lol I stamped my sentiment and call this one done. I was in a hurry to get these cards done, and since I was out all week, this is all I came up with. lol

Well I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy day just to visit me. It sure means a lot to me and I hope you visiting as well. I'm always up for visitors!! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Charming-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are doing well this February Monday! The weathermen lied and said it was going to be 50 degrees on Sunday, well that didn't happen! I was so disappointed! Oh well, that's the way it goes. As you know if it is Monday, then it is time for a new challenge over at BBTB2. I am hosting this week and my challenge was for my Design Team sisters to use the charm feature that some Cricut cartridges have. Base Camp, Doodlecharms, Jasmine and Life's A Beach are a few cartridges that have a charm feature. I used Doodlecharms for my charms. I made a Project Life layout, trying to get some of my millions of pictures in an album. So my layout is simple so I can gitter' done! For my journaling spot I put a charm in the right hand corner in a frame. The frame is a die from My Creative Time, my charm is a cute snowman that I glittered with stickles and then put a coating of Glossy Accents on top of.  I punched a hole in the frame and put a Tim Holtz brad/jump ring through. Then I opened the jump ring and hung my charm on it once it was dry. So my cute snowman swings freely. I cut two more charms, the snowflakes from Doodlecharms and put a hole in my pictures and attached these two snowflake charms with an eyelet and coated those in Glossy Accents as well. My title I used My Creative Time Alpha's in all caps, with a large snowflake die also from My Creative Time in place of the "O" in "got & snow". And that is it folks. Simple, fast and easy. I think the charms are so cute and I really love how they look! I will be using this feature more in the future!  Want to see more inspiration? Then go over to BBTB2 and see what my DT sisters have for you. Now it is your turn, lets see how you use Cricut charms on your project! Make sure to use your Cricut for the charm and then link up with us so we can see your lovely projects.

As always I want to thank you wonderful peeps for taking the time out your day to visit me. I love your sweet comments, you truly make my heart sing! Crafty hugs, Brenda

I Did It Now!

Many of you have so kindly told me you couldn't see my pictures for the PL post I did. And I thought that's funny because I can see them. And I really could....that is until now. Well guess what?! I really did it this time!! I went through all the pictures on my phone and in the "cloud" I guess and deleted all my crafty pictures because I didn't need the on my phone. It said "delete everywhere" and I thought yes, it can delete them everywhere not know it would delete them from my blog too. How that works I have no clue! I guess you can see I have no clue period and thus why my pictures have been deleted. I guess my son is right in that I shouldn't be allowed to have any electronics in my hands! I didn't think I was that bad, but apparently I am. lol So now I'm off to see if I have some of the pictures on my computer to put back in my posts. Sigh  So maybe you all already know this, but don't delete everywhere!!

Edited to add:
I did not delete my photo's, someone hacked my blog. =(

Precious Boy-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your Monday! If it's Monday, then it is time for a new challenge over at BBTB2. And since our fearless leader, Susan, is now a new first time grandma, she chose our theme for this challenge. Can you guess what the challenge is? Yep, you guessed it, a baby project! So I made a very simple and plain baby card in the colors grey and yellow. I used the New Arrival Cricut cartridge and welded the elephant to the scalloped base (also in NA). Then I used die cut lower case letters from My Creative Time to die cut the word boy in the base layer too. I put this layer on one thickness of foam tape. Added some grey washi tape and a button with yellow twine. I believe my button is a greyish blue button, but the lighting was making it look grey. I will have to see it in better light to know if it will stay or not. lol But for now it looks grey to me so it went on! I also stamped the word "precious" above boy using a My Creative Time stamp. And that is it folks. Told ya' it was very simple and plain. Go over to BBTB2 and see what inspiration my design team sisters have for you. I have a sneaky suspicion that we might see a layout of the new grand baby! Then lets see your baby creations by linking up with us. Just make sure to use your Cricut since this is a Cricut challenge.

As always thanks for taking the time out of your busy day and stopping by to see me. I love your comments, they always make my heart smile. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Project Life

Hello my crafty friends, I sure this post finds you gearing up for the Super Bowl! Who are you rooting for?? I don't have a particular team I'm rooting for and I watch mainly for the half time show and the commercials. lol And to be with my guys, which this year it will be just hubby and I. But that is ok, I'm sure our youngest will be texting his dad about the game. Our oldest won't be home to see it, he is training in LA with the Army. He always misses out on these fun times and I won't be sad when he finally retires from the Army and is home with his family. But that is a mother's perspective as a mother always wants her kids safe at home with their families. We are also gearing up for the snow. Looks like we dodge another bullet as we are only supposed to get a coating to 2 inches of snow-mixed bag and then turn to rain, DS at college will be getting close to 4, 8 or 10 inches so say the weathermen. Glad that isn't us. I'm good with just a coating or 2 inches. Now the mixed snow and ice-yeah I could do without that but it will be coming when we are in bed and then it is changing over to rain, so should be fine as far as the roads go around here.

Well enough about the weather! Janice over at Bimini Moose has a challenge going on with Project Life. I've decided to get into PL (I've done a few already) because I'm so far behind with scrapping my pictures and the guys have been giving me a hard time about it. So PL to the rescue! This should help me get my back pictures done, but still give me the feel of scrapping some too. I don't plan on giving up scrapping the traditional way though. So I picked a year that needed scrapping and got started. This layout is from New Year's Eve. We don't usually stay up to ring in the New Year, but we would have friends and family over to celebrate New Year's Eve, then everyone goes home and we either go to bed or ring in the New Year-mostly we went to bed and now that we are older we still go to bed. lol We always get woke up though from the other people around celebrating, and we will give each other a kiss and say Happy New Year, then roll over and go back to sleep. We're lots of fun aren't we?!  I used a PL kit from SU. Becky Higgins teamed up with them to bring some kits in SU colors and I have to say that I love these kits. I didn't get "scrappy" with this layout because there wasn't much I wanted to do or had to use. So I kept it simple.  I did use My Creative Time alpha dies for my title and her PL numbers for my date. I also used a SU date stamp as well. Janis sometimes has a twist to the challenge and for this time it is to make a list on your PL layout. I hope you had fun looking at my PL layout, it is simple yes, but it has the picture in now and the guys can look at the albums once again.

As always thanks for taking time from your busy day and visiting little ole me. Your comments mean the world to me. Have fun watching the Super Bowl! Crafty hugs, Brenda
