October CAS Watercolour Reminder

Hello my crafty friends, I'm here with a reminder that we are half way through the October CAS Watercolour ChallengeDon't forget to tell them Happy Birthday as well! Their 2nd birthday to be exact!

As usually the CAS Watercolour Team has lots of inspiration for you as well as the gallery of cards from those who are playing along. I hope you will come and play with us as it is a super fun challenge!

For my card, I used some Distress Inks to make a water color wash for my background in our challenge colors. I almost ditch it, but decided to try to go over them again and then I liked it better. Then I stamped my dandelion, little extra bits and the sentiment with Distress Oxide ink. I  then matted it onto some acorn brown paper, although you can't see the acorn pattern. lol I wanted the brown, so used it.It looks like it is on crooked, but in real life it isn't. I also splatter the brown ink on to my washed background. Mounted it to my card panel and called it done. Now, what will you make with orange, green and brown in watercolour?! You have until the 24th of October and you can link up 3 times! Make sure to come and link up with CAS Watercolour Challenge, it's such a fun place to play and Loll and Bonnie are amazing and welcoming women as is the Design Team!

As always I thank you for taking the time to visit with me for a spell. Your comments always add rays of sunshine to my life! I will most certainly be by to visit you soon too. I want to take this time to thank Loll, Bonnie and the Design team for having me as Guest Designer this month!! It was so much fun!

Crafty Hugs,

Tree Twofer Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, hope you are having a beautiful, sunshiny day! It is nice and sunny here today with balmy temps of 77 degrees. So lovely. Still soggy though, but slowly we are drying out. Then it will be back on the mower once again. lol

I wanted to participate in the Twofer Challenge, but really didn't know if I was clever enough to come up with any clever ideas for the tree challenge. What I had thought of, which was to use a tree and make a snowflake, someone already did. So to Pinterest I went. So I grabbed the SU Thoughtful Branches stamp set, a NBUS for me, one that I got at the SU Yard Sale last summer and got to work. As always, the recipes for what I used will be at the bottom of my post.

Here is a look at my twofer's

My Christmas Card. My one tree is decorated for Christmas. There is some sparkle on the snow drifts and snowflake using the Nuvo Sparkle Pen.  I should have gold embossed the sentiment but for some reason I didn't!

My flower card using my tree top. I didn't get the leaves on like I wanted because I forgot to do them and then had to add them in. Should have left well enough alone!

As always, I want to thank you for stopping by and visiting with me a spell. I will be around to visit you too! Thank you for your kind comments as they always bring so much sunshine to my world.

NBUS Challenge

Hello my crafty friends! Well months have passed again without any posts or comments from me. I'm very sorry, blogging just hasn't been my thing right now. As I've said before, mowing and taking care of the outside keeps me busy as well and even though I'm not looking forward to winter coming, I am looking forward to no outside maintenance. lol I have also been struggling with being anemic (from my fall and broken ribs, had internal bleeding)-so very tired and sleepy and just feeling funky. But I put myself on iron pills, went through this several years back so knew what to do, and the iron pills are helping. Just gonna take time to build myself back up. I am trusting in the good Lord that he will heal me and keep me going.

I have come cards for you today. The same but different if you know what I mean. They are all sympathy cards, been making way to many of them here of late! I wish I could say that I was just mass producing these for my stash, but I wasn't. I needed 3 for family members so I kept them similar just changing the sentiment on the front and the flower. Saw this idea on Pinterest, so  NOT my idea at all. I used distress oxides for my "sunsets". First time bleeding with them and how I am loving them. Only stamped with them before which I love them for stamping as well. As always my recipe will be down below. I used a NBUS stamp set as well so I think if I hurry I can get in under the wire for Darnell's NBUS challenge. I believe and could be wrong, that today is the last day of it.

Well that is it for me today. Not sure when I will be back around right now. My life just seems to be moving in a different direction right now. I do look to see what you have been up to, just not commenting. For that I'm sorry, like I said just to much going on and just struggling to keep up with life. Winter might change that though. As always I thank you for your sweet comments, they really do mean the world to me but understand when you can't comment. Just taking the time to stop by is wonderful to me as I'm not a "number's" gal.

They all say the same thing on the inside.

With Sympathy

Hello crafty friends, hope you are having a relaxing Sunday. I made a little resolution to myself to make more than one card when I am making cards. So my challenge is to make at least 2 cards, but would prefer to make 4, assembly line style to place in my stash. I didn't make 4 of these cards, but did make 2. So I'm pretty happy about that, but unfortunately I will be using one of them. But that's ok, cause I made two and the other one can go into my stash. Since the passing of my beloved husband, I have found this saying and I just love it because one night early after his passing, my husband's cousins came over and we got in the hot tub. While sitting and talking, I see a shooting star. No one seen it but me. Then I switched seats and saw another shooting star! No one but me saw it again. Next thing I knew there went another shooting star for the 3rd time. You guess it, I was the only one who saw it. I believe my beloved was sending me a message, then I found this saying and fell in love with it as it seem to have meaning to me. They have angels with this saying on the angel and I plan on getting one for my bedroom because it just reminds me of this time when I saw the 3 shooting stars. You might be asking why I saw 3 shooting stars. Well, Dwayne always gave me 3 kisses before leaving the house, whether he was going up to the farm, off to work or where ever. It was always 3 kisses, so I think he sent me the 3 shooting stars! Yes, that was my amazing husband....

Again I used Mojo Monday Sketch 431 for this card as well. Thanks so much for taking time out of  your day to visit me. I truly appreciate you visit and your comments as well. You certainly make my day brighter for me!! Crafty hugs, Brenda

With Sympathy-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, Happy Monday to you all. I hope you are nice and warm where ever you are. It is snowing here and we are supposed to get 5 to 7 inches. So my world is nice and white. lol But I didn't ask you here to talk about the weather! As you know Monday's always bring a new challenge over at BBTB2. My sweet and talented design team sister, Sharon, is hosting this week and her challenge to us was to make a sympathy card. I don't know about you, but I tend to struggle with these types of cards. You don't want it to look all happy, but you don't want it to be sad either. You want it to be comforting to the person you are sending it to. I also always wait until I need a sympathy card so I was glad to see this challenge from Sharon because it will be nice to have some on hand in my stash. Of course we all wish we didn't have to make them but the simple fact of life is that we do need them. So after looking through Pinterest for some inspiration, I got started. I used the CTMH Cricut cartridge Art Philosophy for my "doily" looking mat. I then used My Creative Time stamps dies for my tree and sentiment. My little butterflies are a Studio G. And that's it. I kept it pretty simple. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not, but I don't hate it either. lol

Need some more inspiration? Look no farther than my design team sisters, go to BBTB2 and check out what they have for you. Then it is your turn, use your Cricut to make a sympathy card and link up with us!

As always I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy life to visit me. Your sweet comments always warm my heart!! Crafty hugs, Brenda
