Cricut Infusible Ink Pillows (Sublimation)

Hello my crafty friends, I have an update for you. I saw the Orthopedic doctor today, he was a great doctor and I really liked him. Bret did too. He started out wanting a CAT scan, but after he found out I didn't have any health insurance, he said it was ok, we didn't need to do it. Then he showed me the x-ray and where my knee was fractured. He said when my leg twisted, the top knee bone acted like a log splitter, coming down with such force that it fractured the bottom bone. Good news is that I don't need surgery if...I keep my weight totally off it. That is a must if I want to stay surgery free. He also said I could take the leg brace off when sitting and exercise my leg, bending the knee back and forth to help keep blood clots from forming. Also he wants me to take a full strength aspirin in instead of my baby aspirin I take every evening. He told me where to go for good, but cheap x-rays, so will do them in 2 weeks and see him again too in 2 weeks as well. We will see how things look then. So...I plan on staying in my seat as much as possible to make sure I don't damage this knee any farther.

I have 2 pillows (covers) I made for my friend as part of her gift to go with the flag. I used Cricut's Infusible Inks on them in black. Infusible Ink is Cricut's way of sublimation. I would so love a sublimation printer, especially the Sawgrass, but that definitely isn't in my budget and especially not now! The design will never wash off or peel off, which is perfect. She loved them, which made me happy. My friend teaches Jazzercise and owns the building, so I wanted to remind her unwind and relax, so that is what I put on the pillows. Simple in design so it would not clash with her decorating style. I have one more small gift I gave her that I will save for another time.

As always, thanks for stopping by and visiting with me a spell. You always make my day and your comments brighten my day as well. Especially now since I'm on quarantine once again. lol It's really hot here this week, so I'm really missing the pool too! Anyway, if I haven't been by to see you, I will be soon.

Crafty hugs,

Card Recipe:

Cricut Design Space
Cricut machine
Infusible Ink in black
Cricut Easy Press 2
18 x 18 Cricut pillow covers
Pillows for stuffing in the covers from JoAnns (pillow inserts were really expensive, so I got a light colored decorated pillow that was white on the backside. They were on sale and then another friend didn't see anything to use her coupon on so she gave it to me and I got even more off of them. So I want to make my other friend something once I'm back on my feet again.)

Ah good and bad news eh sis m fractures are no fun and take ages to repair, no fun keeping still and weight off the leg but needful if want it better again. Pray your home is built so near to all things you need and not lots of steps to get them. Glad the dr was kind and accommodating that’s answered prayer.
I pray that the two week X-ray show some knitting of the bone, that’s fascinating to see I had bad fracture in right arm and the bone knitting is just like knitting on an X-ray! Gods creation is amazing, can’t happen by accident such a thing.
Clever cushions too, thanks for updating, God bless and keep you safe as you recover, and boss all those you love,
Prayer hugs Shaz in Oz.x

I hope your knee heals quickly! It's a bummer not to be able to put any weight on it, but worth the effort, I think. Love the pillows. They are perfect for any decor and a good reminder that we need to unwind and relax!

What great pillows and wonderful words for them. I have not tried the Cricut infused ink yet but it sure looks like fun.

Keeping you sitting down is going to be the hardest part of this doctor's instructions, I'm sure of it! But please do follow them to the letter, my friend!
LOve these cute pillows - since having had a T-Shirt shop many MANY years ago you brought back memories for me today!
Take good care, Brenda... xxoo

What a great gift and reminder to just breathe with the words on those pillows! I'm glad you found a good doctor you like and that he's treating you without sending you to the poor house in the process. I pray for healing for that knee so you can get back into life and start kicking again soon! Staying put won't be easy as there's always something that needs to be done, but behave yourself and just chill. It's too hot to do much outside anyway :) sending healing hugs your way :)

Hi Brenda

Pleased to read that your visit to the Orthopod went well. Always feels better when you like and have faith in the person treating you. He sounds a nice chappie#!

Certainly sounds like a nasty fracture but good that you can avoid surgery if you do plenty of resting.

Loving your art projects and I am sure your friend does too. I love that you do such a wide range of craft projects .. .. and they are always gorgeous!

Take care Brenda. Hope you have plenty of things to keep you amused whilst sitting down!

Love Jules xx
