Let It Snow-BBTB2 Challenge

Ok I'm not wishing for snow people! lol Hello my crafty friends, happy Monday to everyone! I hope everyone is staying warm from last weeks chilly willy weather. I think it is suppose to get in the 50's sometime this week. I can live with those temps! Hubby gets a break from his meds for a week and then will start back up for his 3 weeks. He got a special kind of medicine for the sores in his mouth and it is looking like it might help pretty good. We will find out for sure when he goes back on his pills again. So all and all I think it is going pretty well so far. That is such a blessing!

As you know every Monday it is time for a new challenge over at BBTB2 and our sweet and talented DT sister, Michelle has given us the challenge of using a snowflake on our projects this week. It is winter and in a lot of areas the snow is flying....so a very fit challenge don't you think?! Now I'd like to say that I am loving my card, but I'm not. Now it could be my paper choices...I know it is my base paper choice. And I have to say that I'm not sure yet if I'm in love with the CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge yet. Now please note that I've only used this cartridge twice now, so I haven't given it a fair chance yet. I need to play more and I need to be more in the mood to get crafty and trust me I wasn't in a crafty mood today! So please don't go by what I say about this cartridge! So as you have gathered, I used the Artfully Sent cart to make my card. I used a black cardstock to cut out my swing card base from the cart. Then I picked an inside cut I wanted to use and cut that out of a blue sky looking paper. I also cut extra snowflakes from some dies-My Creative Time and a Simon Says die and sprinkle them on the outside swing and inside swing. That is about as creative as I got. Want some awesome inspiration? Go to BBTB2 and see what my DT sister's have for you, you will definitely be inspired! Then lets see your snowflake projects by linking up with us at BBTB2!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visiting me, sorry it wasn't a great visit this time around. lol Your visits always touch my heart and your comments make my day. Crafty hugs, Brenda

I love this card with it's authentic different snowflakes. I like the way it folds with the pop out. We all have times we aren't really in the mood to craft. I just read, get on the computer or watch tv. Just get away from it for a time and go back with fresh eyes. I can't tell you how happy I am that things are so much better for hubby. He is a trooper and your are such an inspiration. Hang in there.

Despite your thoughts, I think this is a great card! I love the black & white and the pretty panel you put inside the card too! I really like how the snowflake cut-out looks when the card is opened too! White snowflakes on black are always so striking!
I'm glad your hubby is doing well with his meds, and hopefully 2015 will be a better year for both of you! Stay warm!

I love all the different snowflakes. They really pop with the black background. You made a beautiful card, Brenda. I don't want any more snow or winter, either. Glad to hear that hubby is doing well.

I understand that you might not be so find of your card right now, Brenda. But I think you did a wonderful job. The snowflakes pop nicely against the black card base. The inside is quite pretty also. It's wonderful that your hubby's meds are working well. I know that's a relief to you both.

Cheering the good news about your hubby, and sending prayers that things continue to improve! Blessing, indeed! I can't count the number to times I've made a card, only to finish it, stand back, decide it's "meh" and 'yucky' and toss it into the recycle bin. I've learned, though, that sometimes a card that creates that kind of reaction needs some 'settling time', and that often, viewed with 'new eyes' a couple days later, winds up being not so bad after all. Of course, a little tinkering or adjusting often happens, but at least I'm doing better at 'rescuing' the duds. Your card: I think it's fabulous! Black and white is always a striking combination, and using snowflakes: wonderful! The sky paper is such a pretty complement to the black/white. Pretty, plus, my friend!! So glad you shared it!!

Absolutely so happy to hear that hubby's meds are working and so far everything is looking good. I pray all the time for him.... and this card is just perfect for winter! I love the design of the card and I too, have this cartridge but have yet to play with it the way I would like to. What I have played with, I like though.

So glad your hubby is doing better. Hope the meds really are helping his mouth. Always prayers for you and your family.
Now about the card...it's a beauty. I love the black and white and the cutout snowflake. You could name it "midnight snow". Makes me think of watching snow from a window in the dark night. So peaceful and beautiful.

Your card is great. Maybe a couple of rhinestones in the flake centers would bling it up for you.?. Thanks for sharing.

I ALWAYS enjoy stopping by your blog-it feels like coming over to hang out on your porch and hear the news, crafty and otherwise! You are someone I'd love to meet in person if we lived in the same state, lol! I like the black and white-kind of classic, don't you think? I haven't really seen anything of the Artfully Sent cartridge yet, so I'll be interested to hear what your final opinion is on it (so I can decide if it goes on my wish list or not…) Hope you hubby continues to feel better!
