My Hero

Hello my crafty friends, happy TGIF to you all! As you know if it is Friday then it is time for a Jo's Funday Friday challenge.  We were ask to design a project that is patriotic. Well for me I decided to do a layout for my oldest soldier son. He is deployed all the time (it seems like) and I am keeping an album for him and myself to give to his children when they are older or I die, which ever comes first. Currently he is on his 5th deployment.  For this layout I used all papers and embellishments from my stash. The company that I got a lot of it from isn't in business anymore and oh how I miss them. I also used my Cricut cartridges Opposites Attract and Fabulous Finds. I hope you will go over to Jo's Scrap Shack and see what inspiration my design team sisters have for you and then I hope you read the rules and join us by linking up with a project. We love when you get crafty with us!

I bet you shed a few tears doing this one! It is marvelous. I can't say "pretty" because of the subject matter, but it sure is awesome. You will have a treasure when this is finished & he is home 'for good', which I hope will be soon. And that he stays safe. Please tell him I send my heartfelt thanks for his sacrifice for my family & me (and my country too!) for protecting us. He deserves all the thanks this country can say. As does his family!! Thank you for sharing this. It's fabulous. And yes, very patriotic too!!! Hugs

HI sweetie!!!!!
I poked around the blog a bit today but just commenting in one place... =)
This is such a wonderful project and so thoughtful to keep this for the future...
I can only imagine the feel of having him gone...I know there is a lot that changes as you get older. But one thing that's really changed for me is my deep and tangible appreciate for military folks and their families. I mean, I give up my hubby enough to law inforcement (like him having to leave again last night for a crash, urgh).
I just really appreciate him, and you and you sharing this with us...

lots of love...

Yes, our boys are our heroes. I know you're as proud of him as I am of mine and how you worry about his safety. I'm really proud of you for making this memory book for him and his family. I've got all the stuff gathered for my son's but haven't done much to it in awhile because I haven't gotten any recent photos. I'm going to have to tell him to get some photos for me. Prayers and blessings, as always, for your hero's safety until he returns home.
