More Christmas Cards

Hello friends, hope everyone is doing well and if it is snowy and cold where you are, stay warm.

I'm back to share a few more Christmas cards. I had seen Brenda over at Inkspired to Stamp use this die a while back and just had to order it for myself. I don't buy a lot of crafty goodies anymore, but there have been a few things I've just had to have. All these cards are the same except for the center image as you can see. I had fun making these and love how they came out. My little images were the perfect size to place on this layer die without covering up the beauty of it. Love the embossing too. When I think of Christmas, I think of love, peace and joy...so those are the sentiments I used. As you can see, I made 8 of them. I do wish I had used kraft, gold mirror and red cardstock for my plaid dies, but still like the way they turned out. I might make more using that color combo to add to the stash for next year. We will see.  They look so much prettier in real life than they do in the photo's.

Thanks for taking time from  your busy schedule to come and visit me, I appreciate you and your comments!

Crafty hugs,

Christmas Cards

Hello friends, I have a few Christmas cards to share today.

First one uses a stencil from Simon Hurley. I bought a few crafty things this year, this was one. I thought these trees were so sweet/artsy and perfect for a CAS Christmas card. I made 4 in three colors. Stenciled my little trees on and then place them on a mirror gold card.

Close up of the pink one, I didn't capture the shine of the gold paste, but in real  life it has a nice shine to it.

I saw a card similar to this one on Pinterest and I love the simplicity of it. Mine is a little different, but not by much. So I used what embossing folder and snowflake die I had and made it. My regret....I wish I had stamped the sentiment in a Kraft colored ink instead of black. But it is said that a little black adds a bit of elegance, so I'm sticking with that. I made a few of these as well.

That's it from me today. Thanks for stopping by, it is always appreciated.

Crafty hugs,

Some Cards and What I've Been Up To

Well, it's been a while again. I sure hope you all have been doing well and are getting nice weather. We are still back and forth with our weather and lots of storms and rain. This week has some rain in it, but it is supposed to be much warmer!

So much going on, so many sympathy cards have been going out the door as well. I am hoping that is over with, having two go out today alone. But I have been making cards and such. So will start with these few.

To catch you up on what's going on with Bret....the poor guy isn't buying his house now. He thought at first he was going to have to move quickly in March. As he was getting his loan all together with the bank, they found out that the property was zone as commercial use. The guy selling the house didn't know about it, and of course Bret didn't know about it. The bank wanted an additional $25,000 in closing costs on top of the regular closing cost and the township will not guarantee him that he can rebuild in case of a fire. So he isn't buying it of course, but the guy needs to sell it because of having to pay back his grandparents for the money loaned to buy his newer home. So Bret was scrambling looking at homes and such. But as it turned out, he can stay where he is at and just rent as the business, Superior Home's, beside him is buying the property and wants Bret to stay and rent. So for now, he will just rent the house and can take his time looking for a home to buy. We both look at it as everything happens for a reason and when one door closes, another one will open.

I have kept busying dog sitting for Bret as he has been traveling a good bit. I am also taking care of lots of testing that I haven't had done for years since Dwayne passed since I have health care once again. And of course that mean seeing a rheumatologist and running lots of blood testing. Will be seeing her this week for go over all the testing and the "flagged" tests.

So here are my cards, most sympathy cards went out as Mass cards, but this one I made. Had two others, but forgot to take a photo of them! And of course, birthday cards. They are always going out the door. Had a friend over to make cards, so I decided to have a play with a NBUS stencil. It was fun and though not perfectly lined up, I'm still pleased with the results of that play and the cards made with the stencil.

This sympathy card was made using the Ukraine flag colors. After all was said and done, I had wished I picked a less "cluttered" design on the front. It was cut out in removeable vinyl scraps.

A birthday card for my brother, again, the happy birthday was cut out using vinyl scraps that I'm trying to get used up. One birthday card got mailed and I forgot to take a photo of it, it was a beautiful teal and gray color with a stamped silhouette of Queen Anne's Lace and a birthday sentiment cut out in vinyl.

Another birthday card, you guessed it, the sentiment design was cut out in vinyl scraps.

A birthday card for my nephew, I saw this design on Pinterest and so got out my Cricut and stamps to make it my own. The sentiment is print and cut. I thought it looks young and hip. lol

Was invited to use a ticket (the owner couldn't use because they were sick) to go see the Celtic Angels. Was a fabulous show of Celtic singing and dancing.

A last season snow-many of us saw that!

And last but not least, a beautiful double rainbow after a storm. It was just so beautiful (photo doesn't do it justice!) and seemed like it touched the ground on either side of it. And no, I didn't go looking for that pot of gold. lol

As always, I appreciate the time you take from your busy schedule to come and see what I've been up to. Your comments always bring me joy and I feel honored that you leave them for me. I am behind on commenting, but am trying to get some caught up on, so hopefully I will be by to visit you soon as well.

CAS Birthday Card

Hold on to your hat, I'm posting again! Been working on different projects in between pool time. It's been so hot, that we haven't been going out to the pool until early evening, staying out until about 10 pm as the water is so warm. It feels good in the evening though after the temps drop some with a slight breeze. In this photo, Bret just put in the "pool boy" to vacuum the pool before we went in. It stops when done and turns off, then we can just lift it out. Isn't the sky beautiful?! That's what I was taking a photo of and poor Bret just happened to be in the photo as I snapped it. I loved how the sky went from a dark blue to a light blue back where the sun had set. It was a beautiful evening for sure!

Well onto my simple, CAS card. I needed another birthday card and I used some washi tape flowers that a sweet friend sent to me. Thank you sweet friend! So you see how simple this card is, but I think it turned out so pretty. Sorry for the glare, it was super sunny.

As always, thank you for stopping by and visiting with me a spell. Your comments always bring sunshine to my day and I appreciate you so much! I will be by to visit you soon as well. Our heat wave is breaking tomorrow, so that will be welcomed, but then goes back up for next week. I know it isn't as high as the west coast, but still stinkin' hot with the humidity. I swear we are getting as humid as the south anymore. So stay cool where ever you are or come join me at the pool!

Tree Twofer Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, hope you are having a beautiful, sunshiny day! It is nice and sunny here today with balmy temps of 77 degrees. So lovely. Still soggy though, but slowly we are drying out. Then it will be back on the mower once again. lol

I wanted to participate in the Twofer Challenge, but really didn't know if I was clever enough to come up with any clever ideas for the tree challenge. What I had thought of, which was to use a tree and make a snowflake, someone already did. So to Pinterest I went. So I grabbed the SU Thoughtful Branches stamp set, a NBUS for me, one that I got at the SU Yard Sale last summer and got to work. As always, the recipes for what I used will be at the bottom of my post.

Here is a look at my twofer's

My Christmas Card. My one tree is decorated for Christmas. There is some sparkle on the snow drifts and snowflake using the Nuvo Sparkle Pen.  I should have gold embossed the sentiment but for some reason I didn't!

My flower card using my tree top. I didn't get the leaves on like I wanted because I forgot to do them and then had to add them in. Should have left well enough alone!

NBUS Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been making some cards though. Just haven't been in the mood to post and I've been trying to catch up with my commenting, or catching up as best I can. Mowing has begun and that will keep me very busy as well as keeping after the weeds. You know how it goes. I'm hoping Bret will be able to help me out some with it this year. At least the spraying part of it. I really don't mind mowing when I'm up to it. Anyway, I guess I'm saying the posting might be sporadic at best. Ok, I know I haven't posted regularly since Dwayne passed. I'm trying to get there, honest! Plus I've torn my room apart even more, so it is getting harder to get at my supplies. I do have my stamps and a few supplies in the guest bedroom, so that is helping so I can do some cards. I really want to get at my scrapbooking though, but until my room is done, that isn't going to happen! And yes, I've been really slow working on it!!! Sad I know! Savannah has spring fever and insists on going out to play or for a walk, so she is still keeping me busy as well. lol I guess you can tell who is the boss! My elderly lady is doing well and I enjoy her company. She is such a sweetie!! So that is what is going on in my neck of the woods.

Ok, I wanted to enter Darnell's NBUS and Boo Boo Challenge. I don't have any boo boo's, not because I don't make them but because I forget and don't take pictures of them! I've got to try and remember her April 1st challenge in the future. But I have been slowly chipping away at my mountain of NBUS! I believe I used 7 NBUS's!!! So before the door closes on her challenge, which I believe is tomorrow, I am entering my card(s). As always the recipe will be at the bottom of post and if you want links let me know. I tend to be lazy and don't always put them in. As always thank you for stopping by and spending some time with me, your comments sure do make my day especially when I am feeling extra lonely. Ok here we go!

A Peony Birthday

Hello my crafty friends, I hope this Friday finds you all well and ready for a fun weekend. The weeks are zooming by aren't they?! Been warm here, but that makes pool time so much better. At least until the water gets to warm. lol But it loses heat at night, so it is the perfect temp to me. So I plan on enjoying some pool time this week too.

My card for today resulted in just some playing around. I took this Altenew stamp set, Peony Bouquet and practiced stamping some flowers in different colors on to mixed media paper. I got better at getting it lined up, so I have some pretty flowers to use to make cards with. I took this one and decided to try and mask it to add the leaves. Didn't do a great job on the leaves, but decided to just go with it anyway. Didn't care for it with just the leaves, but didn't want to throw it away either, so decided to add a bud. I colored the stem of the bud in with a Zig Clean Color Brush marker so it would be orange. Added a negative cut out snippet to frame it out, I cut out part of the bud and part of the leaf to over hang the frame which I like. Die cut my happy from a snippet of black paper and then stamped "birthday". Mounting the whole thing on a black layer and then on to my card base. Overall I'm pretty happy at how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by, you know I always love it when you come and sit a spell with me! Your comments bring so much sunshine into my life and make me smile from ear to ear!! Hope to be by your blog soon.

Happy Birthday Cards

Hello my crafty friends, I hope this Monday finds you all well and enjoying the start of a new week. Can you believe we are going into July?! These months sure do swish by don't they?! Well don't faint here, but I made a card. Many birthdays for the end of June. I had 6 cards go out here today. Some are going to be a tad bit late, the days just go by me so fast, I don't know where they go. But anyway, speaking of birthday cards, I received so many for my birthday back in May and I finally got my cards posted in the tab "cards from friends" so please take a look. Today is also my good friend, Loll's birthday, so please go over and give her big birthday wishes! She is an amazingly sweet person and uber talented as well! Trust me when I say you won't be sorry you went over to her blog. Just sayin'....

Today's first (and second one too) card is a birthday, told you I needed a lot of birthday cards for this month, I think birthdays are more popular in June than weddings!!! But it is a very CAS card, but I think I like it. lol I used an Altenew stamp set, the peony bouquet one. It was a love hate relationship with this stamp set. I so love it, but it took me a while of practicing before I could line the thing up! Even using the Misti. But I finally got it. Then I thought my square die was in farther than it actually was, so not much of the flower is cut out. lol Yes, only me! I can make more blunders than anyone!! But it's ok, but it still look ok. Tell me what you think...

My second card, a summery card with flip flops and I've used snippets on this card.. Who doesn't love flip flops this time of year. Unless you are like me and wear them out in the snow to get the mail. Haha! I hate shoes with a passion, don't get me wrong, when I was younger I loved my heals, but now...you can't pay me to be that uncomfortable in shoes anymore. I've always been a barefoot person in the summer months and in the winter months I still love to be barefooted in the house. How about you, do you love your flip flops??? How about going barefooted?

That's it for me everyone. As always I appreciate you coming and sitting a spell with me. Wish we could have used the pool for a bit, but having a pool service person come out because I'm having issues with it. Of course I haven't a clue on anything about the pool except to put shock in once a week! So maybe next time we can sit on the deck and test the water out. Your comments always bring sunshine to my day and make me smile from ear to ear! Crafty hugs,
