Little things....

Hello my crafty friends, hope you are having a great ending to your week. Mine has been so so and right now I am taking care of my second to youngest granddaughter. So that will keep me occupied for until Friday evening when her dad comes to get her. 

CAS Mix Up is on it's second challenge and I thought I would try and play along. Luckily I had the stenciled background and leaf already in my box of things that I didn't use. So I just threw a card together. It looks like it too, but I will still use it. I had wanted the brick wall for a window frame, but do you think I can find my window frame die anywhere?!! NO! I know I'm over looking it somehow. Anyway if this isn't CAS enough Loll or Bonnie, please delete it! The challenge this month is to use a stencil, and stamping and other technique of our choice. So I have my stenciled background, and of course my stamping is my sentiment. The technique of my choice is the leaf, I used alcohol inks on the felt pad and pounced the inks on this leaf that was cut from photo paper. Been in my cast off box for over a year, so it is good to use it. Added some sequins and called it done. Not sure if my card pieces are considered snippets or not, so might go over to the Snippets Playground before the door closes.

Dance Like No One's Watching-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, since hubby's fever has come down and he has started treatments again, I decided to get back on my DT. I have missed crafting and I'm rusty to say the least, but hopefully I will get back in the swing of things. Hubby's last chemo treatment was rough on him. He was feeling a little sick while getting treatment so the nurse gave him some saltines to nibble on. Got home and he promptly ran to the bathroom. I felt so bad for him. Then the nurse and pharmacy got here to get hubby's pump placed on. The pharmacy delivered the meds and then left and then the nurse got hubby set up with his pump. No sooner than she got it on him than he was back in the bathroom. When he came out he was so white, his lips were so white and it was a little scary to see. His heart rate was up of course so the nurse said she wasn't leaving until his rate was back down. So I got him settle in his recliner, covered him up because he was freezing and the nurse checked him a little later. His heart rate was back down so she left and he rested. The next morning he felt good to go so I was a thankful wife!

Today over at BBTB2 our challenge was issued by our our sweet design team sister, Emily. Her little girl is going to be starting dance soon so that is our theme, dance. I didn't know where I was going to go with this challenge. But in the end this is what I came up with. My dancing girl comes from the Cricut cartridge Shall We Dance. My mat is from Elegant Edges and I had my Explore write my sentiment using the Quarter Note cartridge.  I punched a Martha Stewart butterfly and two smaller butterflies using a Studio G punch. I added some pearls and called it done. Let's see your dance projects and make sure to use your Cricut cartridges. Can't wait to see what you do.

Blessings Fall Like Rain

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a great week thus far! My project this week for Cardz TV Gallery is a quick and simple one. With hubby being sick, my time has been spent running him to the doctors and taking care of him. We have to get his fever gone before he can do the study at Johns Hopkins, it has been a busy one around here. So I apologize that my project is plain, but I think it is a good one. The Cardz TV stamps I used on this card are:

I used Suburbia for my lady with the umbrella, I can't remember what cartridge I got the grass from, the clouds are from Disney and Friends, and the flowers are from My Quiet Book. I used Glossy Accents for my rain drops. Papers are from my stash and I have no clue who they are by. And that's it, plain and simple just like I told you. lol Have a wonderful week, we are hoping to get results from the blood work and port blood work. Then maybe we can get a plan on getting rid of this infection that hubby seems to have going on.

Die Class Projects

Hello crafty friends. Happy 1st day of spring to you all. Mother nature has decided to pull a bad joke on us by giving us about 4 inches of snow. Good thing is that it isn't laying on the roads and the sun is strong so it will melt quickly this time of year. Hubby and I are looking into other options for treatments for him. I hope whatever we find works well for him.

So in order to keep my mind a little busy I took the online class called Stretch Your Dies. This is the first time I've ever took an online class before and I am enjoying it. Of course I'm behind in all my homework. Some days it is just hard to get my mood up for getting crafty. But I did do day 1's homework. My first card is using your dies to do an inlaid design. The second card is done using craft foam to die cut out your word dies and images, then you heat the foam with your heat gun to shrink the foam. I never knew you could shrink craft foam! This fascinated me. I used the original size of the die in white to make my background look like it was embossed. Then I cut my flowers, leaves and word die again out of white craft foam. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color the flowers, leaves and word die. Then I took my heat gun to it shrinking them. The heat make the flowers curl some, so they have some great dimension to them. And look at how much the "thanks" shrunk, amazing to me! And my last card I tried the smooshing watercolor technique by placing distress ink on my stamping block and spritzing it with water, then stamping it on the paper. I dried it with my heat gun and then took my word die and cut it out of the paper with part of it on the watercolor and part off the watercolor. Then I popped it up using more foam so that it stand up from the base layer, but still matches perfectly to the space. Hopefully I will get to day 2's class homework soon. Hello Beautiful!

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you all are having a lovely Sunday afternoon. It is beautiful here, so sunny and actually pretty nice out. Hubby and I took a 4 wheeler ride around the farm land in the snow. Very wet snow, so it was flying all over me. lol Very wet under the snow from all the rain we got before the snow came. It is going to have a lot of drying to do before any crops will be able to go in the ground. And that depends on how much wetter it gets with the April showers. Keeping my fingers crossed that hubby will be able to get the crops in the ground in a decent time frame. We will see how March and April play out.

Well I got a little crafty today taking care of some DT projects. I also was kinda' challenged by Michele over at I Card Everyone to enter the Muse Challenge. Well more like she talked me into it. lol So the Muse over at Muse Challenge is Vickie Dutcher and we are to use her card for inspiration. Well, I'm not great with putting together pattern papers at all. But thought I would give it a go since Michele wanted me to play along. The inspiration I got from Vickie's card was not to use pattern paper but to use washi tape instead! I hope I'm not illegal and still will qualify to play along. I took some washi that came together in a box, so I figured they had to go together, right? I loved the colors a lot, so I began. I took a scrap piece of paper and started adding the washi tape. The flowery blue tape, I put on twice to make it wider on the panel at the bottom of the card. Then I just keep adding the washi. When I thought I had enough on the bottom, I started on the top. Then I cut it apart and popped each panel up on my card. I used a MCT stamp and die for my Hello Beautiful. I practiced stamping on the washi tape and did great, but when I did it on the card I rocked my stamp some, bummer-but I didn't think I warranted peeling off the tape and starting over, so I left it. I added some black sequins like Vickie did and it was finished. I am pretty happy overall with this card. I think it is beautiful and I don't often say that about anything I make. lol

Girl Power!

Hello my crafty friends. It is my turn to post over at Cardz TV Gallery and I have a simple project for you today.  My inspiration came from a fellow crafter, Sheila of lalacrafts. Sheila made a door hanger to hang on the bedroom door for when her grandson comes to spend the night. She is going to put some goodies in it for him when he visits.  I thought that was a great idea so I had to make one for our granddaughters who love to come and spend the night from time to time. Of course I had to do the Frozen theme since our granddaughters are so into this movie. lol I used my Explore and cut my box from the Art Philosophy and did a print and cut of the Frozen sisters from the Frozen cart. I don't think I have the print and cut feature calibrated quite right just yet, so will have to work on that. I kept this door hanger simple because the girls will probably want to play with it. I did put some clear bling on it because you have to have some "ice" on a Frozen themed project! lol I know winter should be winding down by now, but our winter seems to be still in full swing. I plan on making some other door hangers to fit the season we are in. I thought I would but some little goodies in the box or coupons of things we could do and they could chose from. The Cardz TV stamp set that I used is called Girl Talk and you can find it here. I though the "girl power" sentiment was perfect with these frozen characters and I want the granddaughters to know they have girl power just like Anna and Elsa. lol So a quick and simple little project but one that will give the girls some fun. Home is Where You Hang Your Heart!

Hello Cardz TV Gallery fans, didn't Mary and Anita get this year off on a great start with their cards?!!! I hope you are ready for a fun new year with great projects Monday through Friday here at Cardz TV. Brenda here from Friends Craftin With Friends and I have a card for you that used 3 Cardz TV stamp sets on it. It is a swing card with three squares that swing. I used some heart dies to cut out my hearts all other dies are included with this die set. My papers are some snippets I had left over from another card, I threw some sequins on and called it done. I will be going to the Playground to play because I used some snippets on this card.

Bless this Home-Cardz TV Challenge

Hello Cardz TV Gallery friends! Brenda of Friends Craftin' with Friends here to give you my last post of the year. I know everyone is super busy this time of year finishing up those last minute things on your Christmas do to list, and trust me I have lots on my own list! So I have a CAS card for you today. Our son #4 bought a house and just got moved in. So I made him and our future DIL a card to congratulated them on their new house along with a little gift, some kitchen Christmas towels. For my card I cut my little house from the Cricut cartridge CTMH Art Philosophy as well as for the oval that is on the card that the house sits on and the pattern paper "ring" around the oval. The two Cardz TV stamps I used are "Count Your Blessings" for the outside and "Congratulations" for the inside of my card. Which I forgot to take a picture of, but it was just CAS on the inside as well. 

I want to thank all of you for all your lovely comments and for always checking out what is new on Cardz TV Gallery. I so appreciate you all for coming by each and everyday to check out the Gallery. My last two for the week...

Here are my last two cards for the week. Just to clear things up, I didn't make all these cards this week. I made them in June for Cards for Soldiers-we have a get together every June to make cards for our soldiers to send to their families and I make sure they get mailed out to the shippers so they can get them out to the different deployed soldiers. 

My first card is like the camera one from yesterday. Just plan and simple is what I went with this year so I could get many made. I think we did get around 500 cards made to go to the soldiers! It was a productive day by all the ladies! We had a great time talking and socializing as well as doing something good. We even got cards done for the Ronald McDonald house. The phone and sentiment is from My Creative Time products, love Emma's products! For my second card, The arrow and sentiment also came from MCT products. The heart was a punch I used that is from SU. I think it was a punch, could have been a die-not sure now. lol  Anyway these are some cards-well I will make more-that I plan on using to send to DS will he is away at college. I will probably put some cash in there for him here and there too. I hope you have enjoyed these simple and plain cards. I've enjoyed sharing them with you. Now I need to get my butt in gear in the kitchen and laundry. lol Such an exotic life I lead. Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by yet another day! Your Smile....

Hello my crafty friends, I have another quick post today. Put up lots of corn last night and will be continuing tonight. Then I have to get things ready to go to VA for the weekend. One of our DS's is holding down the fort for us. Do any of you ever feel like you spend all your time in the kitchen?! I swear I am in the kitchen all the time. Good thing I am old now and can't be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. lol  Anyway, I got off topic here. I have another CAS card for today. I used once again My Creative Time stamps. I stamped the little camera's using Hero Art Shadow Inks, love those shadow inks! I love how this card came together, just so simple but I think it is really cute to send anyone. Like my son at school. lol Do you think he will get a lot of cards from me while he is gone?!! lol He won't want to come home will he? Well gotta go get my grass mowed before our son, DIL and granddaughters come over to do corn again tonight. I am going to do supper as they brought pizza last night. Another NBUS!

Hello my crafty friends, I have another simple CAS card for Darnell's challenge of "never been used stuff". I got the die to die cut this cute vintage typewriter but hadn't used it yet. Oh boy I am so loving have a die to cut this baby out! It has stitching on the "paper" that is in the typewriter, how cute! Anyway the typewriter (which is popped up), sentiment, paper plane and plane "tracks" are from My Creative Time. I used some sequins and popped my white layer up on my white card base called it done. Simple, simple and very fast! Well fast if you don't drop the stamp and have to go looking all over creation for it. I was panicking for a while and then decided to pray to St. Anthony and of course he came right through for me and I found the stamp in the trash can. It must have bounced off my leg and right into my full trash can!!! It never fails, when I lose something I will just pray to St. Anthony-he has never left me down yet! Anyway go check out Darnell's blog, you will be greatly amused and walk away with a light, happy heart and while there why not join in on her challenge. She has some awesome blog candy up for grabs!
