So maybe you have been wondering where I've been....or not. lol I have been doing some elderly sitting, a whole week-was glad to get back to my own bed, but made some decent money doing it. So that kept me busy.
Since DS is heading back to college, he insisted that I needed a dog that will get big. We have a little Jack Russell and she is enough work for me. She has diabetes so I have to give her two shots a day. But last Monday we were talking and DS was bugging me about getting another dog. Nope, don't want one and if I would get one I would want a German Shepherd I told him. Well wouldn't you know it, on his way to work on Tuesday, DS see a new sign up at a house advertising GS puppies for sale. Of course as soon as he got to work he had to text me about them. Then he makes an appointment to go see them later that evening. Great. DS was hoping that I would fall in with one of them and would bring one home with us that evening. Actually he was betting on it! Well guess who feel in love.....nope not me, although they were really cute, it wad DS. So I said, lets just put a deposit down on one and go home and get things ready, hoping instead to just talk about it, weigh the pros and cons so to speak. But DS wasn't taking the hint, he said he would go to town and get everything the puppy would need. Great again. So we left there with this little cutie.
She is 8 weeks old, well soon to be nine weeks old. Her dad is huge, over 115 lbs. Her mother is a Blue Shepherd and when bred with another regular Shepherd, the pups take on the traits of the dad. When bred with another Blue, they take on the Blue Shepherd traits of course. We were told by the owners that little little cutie will get as big as her dad and I believe it! She is already way big for her age. It is when she walks that you realize that she is still a baby. Her feet are so huge, she has a hard time walking and is very doppy. lol We named her Savannah, it seem to fit her. I had forgotten how much work goes into caring for a puppy!! It's like an infant and trust me there isn't much sleeping going on right now. But she has already brought a lot of joy into this house. Pockets, the Jack Russell doesn't always do well with other dogs, she is old and she is used to being queen of the house. lol But they are getting along much better than I thought, although Pocket's will give Savannah a "back off bite/growl" when she doesn't want to play. Here are the two girls napping.
So this is what is keeping me really busy. I can't take my eyes off her a second because of the teething. So I'm curious to know what you think, do you think it was "fate" that the sign was put up???? I kinda' took it as a sign.....
Crafty hugs,

They are both so cute on that couch together. The fact that they are willing to share is speaks volumes!
Ooooh Brenda, she is far tooooo cute. I think it's a match made in heaven (you & her). It was ment to be. She will bring you so much joy, happiness, work (oh yes like you said it's an infant in the house) But the work is worth it. Jaay for DS, good job. Give him a tap on the shoulder from me ;-)
She will keep you occupied in every thinkable way and that's good.
I am over the moon seeing these pictures Brenda my friend. Thx for sharing.
Enjoy the weekend, biiiiiiig hug, Veerle xxxxxxx
I think it was fate Brenda sweet friend . . . it was too much of a coincidence otherwise! She is one lucky lady to have been chosen by such a sweet owner. May you have many a happy time together! They look so sweet together, sleeping peacefully! Have a wonderful weekend sweet friend! Hazel xx

It was most definitely a sign that it was meant to be Brenda and she sure is a cutie at that age. I love puppies large feet, lol, there's something so cute and so endearing about them at that age. However I don't envy you it as it was a struggle for me when we got a puppy - I never knew they needed so much work and attention at the beginning, although I would never give my boy Eddy up now. I think she is going to be beautiful and once trained will be a fabulous companion for you and your JR xx
Face it, Brenda. You were doomed the minute your son started talking about a new dog!lol I know you have to watch her every minute. (actually I think it's harder than an infant)It won't be long before you wonder how you lived without her. They are both beauties. Enjoy! and get in a nap or two!
Oh Brenda!!! I think Savannah is as gorgeous as she could be! She brings to mind a GS favorite of my own, who was every bit of 125lbs. or more. Baron would walk 3 miles to my high school looking for me ... of course you know some kid would let him in, right? I would be sitting in class and hear the tick tick of his nails on the floor. Without saying a word, he'd find me EVERY TIME!! He also 'turned down' the bed in the guestroom when he fancied a nap ... which my mum in turn would blame my dad for!!! I wish you many years of being 'grandma' to this beauty!! xx

Sounds like fate to me! She sure will keep you busy and will be good company when DS goes back to school. She is a very pretty little girl!
Congratulations on your new 'baby.' I'm with you...it was a sign, and you just can't ignore them when they slap you in the face like that, lol! It was sweet that DS wanted you to have some protection when he's not around, and I guess there's some truth in that, but I'll bet that DS was also thinking of keeping you busy. Yeah. Like you don't have enough to do already, right?! But she is pretty darn cute. Such a sweet little face. And as she grows, I'm guessing that not only will she watch out for you, but she'll keep an eye on Pockets, too. Your son's heart is in the right place; you've taught him well. Miss Savannah will be good entertainment on those cold winter nights, and a nice warm cuddle too. When my boys were little we had a Great Dane. His teething toys consisted of door mouldings! What a stinker! Here's hoping that she only chews on toys!! We can't have animals; DH has allergies and hip/knee replacements, so the doctors said no. But I think she might be just the ticket for you. Keep us posted, and let us know how she's progressing. Take care. xoxo Bev
It was definitely meant to be Brenda! Savanna looks like she may take over as Queen of the house any day but I bet Pockets doesn't allow that. They're both precious! SO happy you got her!

What a wonderful surprise for you and your family! Savanna is beautiful and so attentive for a young puppy! Her features are amazing and I couldn't be happier for you! She's going to be such a comfort to you in the days to come, and she's going to make herself right at home too........it appears as if she already has :)
She is beautiful Brenda!!! And yes, I think she was meant to be yours!!! God knows what we need and the best time we need. So, yeah, fate!!! We had a German Shepherd when I was growing up and that was the best dog we ever had!!! Very protective of his family!!! So she will be great for you and Pockets!!! :)
And I wanted to thank you for the comment on my last post. I have been thinking really hard about getting a camera and doing some videos. I'll let you know when I do and you can be my critic!!! :)
Oh Brenda what a sweet wee (well, not actually that wee) girl. Savannah is going to be a beautiful dog, but are you going to have your hands full!!.
Blessings
Maxine
What fabulous photo', Brenda ... your new puppy is adorable ... and huge! It bodes well that Savannah and Pockets are sharing the sofa ... bet they'll become firm friends! So sweet of your son ... and yes, perfect timing for that sign! Enjoy every moment, my friend! Hugs, Anita :)
Savannah is most adorable, and Buttons looks quite content to have a new friend to share his space. Good that you have a cuddly puppy to keep you company with the DS heads back to school. She will definitely keep you busy for a few weeks, but then she'll be house trained, and be a good companion and watch dog! TFS & Hugs. MM
Definitely fate! Savannah is so cute. xx
Awww, what a sweet pea! How could you say no to that face?! I love that they get along better than you expected. :)
The universe works in mystical, magical ways, Brenda, so Savannah coming to live with you is definitely meant to be! She is adorable! I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off her either...or my hands! She'd be cuddled to the point of 'excessive'! I used to have two miniature schnauzers: Casey and Squirt (she came with that name). Casey entered my life when she was 5 weeks old (talk about being a wee baby!) and oh my goodness! She was my baby in every way! When she was two, I decided she needed a companion (I perhaps should have consulted her, first *grin*), so along came Squirt, who was also two. They didn't get along 'fabulously', as Casey was 'top dog', but well enough to be 'pals' most of the time. My girls took excellent care of me...and when they were gone, that's when my husband entered my life. Yes, that universe brings us what we need when we need it...
Hugs~c (and please, give Savannah and Pockets some extra cuddles from me!)
I think this is meant to be and too hard to ignore. She is just beautiful and you will have your hands full! But it will be so worth it. I am so glad I have Molly. She has been a big help to me and brings a lot of fun and joy. Where ever I am, she is. It sounds like Pockets is holding her own and will tell Savannah when to back off. It will work out since it was meant to be! Be sure Savannah knows your craft things are not to eat! Keep us updated on her progress.
Awww ... she is so cute!! I can see why DS fell in love with her and wasn't going to go home without her. :) Puppies are so much work, but the rewards are endless. Just like their love for you. :) Pockets is so sweet, and she has made room for Savannah, so that is great. I'm sure she will be the ruler, though, and keep that pup in line. :) Have fun ... and try to catch some sleep when you can. I'm so happy for you. xx
Aaw what a cutie pie and don't they look adorable together. No wonder you have been busy and you are going to have your hands full, but it will be so worthwhile!
Wow she is a beauty and by the picture on the couch of the 2 she is just about the same size as pockets :) The joys of puppy-hood :) you will be busy, but this one looks like she'll steal anyone's heart.
Oh my, Brenda!!! She is so cute!!! Enjoy her!!!
OH. MY. GOODNESS How cute is she?!!? I want a dog like that. Look at that face!! hahaha, it's TOTALLY like having a child when they're pups, isn't it?!!? Awww, I hope you'll share more pix of them...
Hi, Brenda. I was looking back through some of your posts that I missed and saw this one about Savannah. She is gorgeous. I have a doggie nephew in California - his name is Pharoah. He belongs to the sister for whom I made the Gambling Granny card. I make Pharoah birthday cards and Christmas cards. He always gets $5 as a present - to be spent on treats or a basketball. Pharoah loves basketballs-LOL!! He is so protective of my sister - and he loves to sit on her lap! He weighs 90+ pounds. He's a total sweetheart and I love him, too. I know you'll have wonderful times with Savannah.
