Well I have to say I found something out when making this card. I have had daubers in my stash for years. Did you know they go bad? Probably so, but I didn't realize it. lol So got out a clean dauber and went to use it for my white circles and wouldn't you know it just disintegrated! What a mess. So went in search of a TH sponge to use on the blending tool. Ok that is better. So I did the bokeh look, ink blending and stamping as well as wet embossing. I think I covered it all. As always my recipes of supplies will be down below. I told you it was a very, very simple card!
As always I thank you for taking the time to stop and visit with me for a while. Your comments always bring sunshine to this part of my world, especially since it is still dreary and raining a lot here. Could be snow though, so I'm not going to complain....to loud! lol Hope to be around to visit you soon too.
Crafty hugs,

You have mastered the bokeh technique with your first try Brenda! This is awesome! I LOVE the colours in the background and the shiny black thanks and frame. Very striking! Great work! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda - thanks for dropping by my blog - wanted to let you know about a spinner card Karen Burniston has dies one can purchased to make a spinner card - basically when using the die for the spinner what happens is when one opens up the card a message or graphic - something POPS out - so it is somewhat like a spinner card. She has come up with how to use that die in the Tag book Die that I also own - so I made my tag Christmas Card for my friend - the deer pops [spins] out when the card is open - there are ENDLess possibilities using her dies. Thanks for stopping by and have a fab day!
ReplyDeleteHI Brenda - so I have noticed that my small sponges start falling apart after awhile - go figure on that - like the background of your Thank you card - very nice looking and has a CAS clean feel with all the sponging! TFS
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, it's stunning!! Wow!! The bokeh effect looks absolutely amazing!! You did a perfect job, Brenda!! I love, love it!! Such gorgeous colors!! Have a great evening!! Big hugs :)

Simple and gorgeous card, Brenda! Your Bokeh results turned out to be so soft and beautiful! Love the warm color combo with the striking black. The glossy sentiment looks so cool. I'm sorry to hear about your dauber trouble, but your card doesn't look like there was any tool issue at all! Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Mix Up!

Simple but beautiful, Brenda! I love the colors you've used and yes, I've found that the sponge daubers do disintegrate and usually at a bad time like when you're in the middle of sponging something! New sponges did the trick to get those pretty Bokeh dots! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Brenda :) Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteHugs my friend, Tina
hi Brenda,
ReplyDeleteA truly brilliant Card, love it very clever Bokeh for first attempt and love the glossy thanks too.
Yes I discovered the same way as you did they go off. You can buy replacement tops for the dauber at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby, as bought some when in US in Sept. however I think my paint inside has gone off too so think it’s a waste of time. I was given them I wouldn’t buy them. They don’t last like an ink pad,

Hi Brenda - If you would like to try the Twist and Pop - there is a tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers that walks you through it - I have an SVG by Lori Whitlock - yet I tried some of the tutorial - you can get a tutorial there so give it a try - watch out - it can be addicting and honestly it is not difficult to make [when you follow hers it will be a longer spread for the inside] I was doing a combination - not as I would have liked it but my neighbor thought it was OKAY so I did not trash it. Just saying - thanks for stopping by - have a fab crafting week!
ReplyDeleteSimple is good Brenda, good job with the Bokeh, very pretty xxx
ReplyDeleteI like your card with the bokeh technique. I tried that technique one time...and mine did not come out as nice as yours. I guess I need to try and again...they say practice makes perfect...ha ha...
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that those sponges can disintegrate...but I do know from experience what can disintegrate...the rubber soles on boots (as I found out last year...after leaving little sponge pieces on the floor as I walked...haha... the good news is that I managed to get new boots this year. (I know it has nothing to do with cards...smile)
