Today's first (and second one too) card is a birthday, told you I needed a lot of birthday cards for this month, I think birthdays are more popular in June than weddings!!! But it is a very CAS card, but I think I like it. lol I used an Altenew stamp set, the peony bouquet one. It was a love hate relationship with this stamp set. I so love it, but it took me a while of practicing before I could line the thing up! Even using the Misti. But I finally got it. Then I thought my square die was in farther than it actually was, so not much of the flower is cut out. lol Yes, only me! I can make more blunders than anyone!! But it's ok, but it still look ok. Tell me what you think...
That's it for me everyone. As always I appreciate you coming and sitting a spell with me. Wish we could have used the pool for a bit, but having a pool service person come out because I'm having issues with it. Of course I haven't a clue on anything about the pool except to put shock in once a week! So maybe next time we can sit on the deck and test the water out. Your comments always bring sunshine to my day and make me smile from ear to ear! Crafty hugs,

The first card looks amazing and perfectly balanced! I love this technique you shared with us recently, and every version I see makes me want to try it again! The flip-flops look perfect for summery fun and birthdays too! I never much got into flip-flops, because they hurt that space between my toes where the strap goes, so I am a barefoot girl too! I'm always barefoot in the house all year long - except when it gets chilly, then I'll put socks on. I hate shoes and only put them on when I have to go somewhere! LOL
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are absolutely gorgeous, Brenda!! I love the flower!! The technique is so amazing!! The butterfly is a perfect touch!! And the flip flop card is fabulous!! I love in them in the summer!! Your card makes me happy!! Love them both my friend!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

Your flip-flops card: seriously way too cute! Pink, yellow and grey: always fun, always fresh! Your first card...another breath-taken-away gem! Your layout: perfect! Your peony: jaw-dropping gorgeous. Your butterfly: the ideal special touch! In awe!! I have the peony set, awaiting some undivided attention when we're back from Montana. At the moment, I'm still crushing all over Beautiful Day...oh, and I have the Watercoloured flower set also calling for attention. Just a bit Altenew obsessed of late *grin* Another mega-watt smile in seeing these delights!

The floral spotlight looks just great to me! Love your color choices, and the butterfly balances out very nicely what you think is wrong with the card (but I didn't!). It's beautiful. #2 - totally different look, and equally delightful. Love the summery colors, and yes I love my flip-flops too. They have become my house shoes, and I'm really liking the fun style of this cutie. TFS & Have a nice evenin'. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the first card Brenda- that peony is perfect, and with the square off set that wee bit it's perfect to my eyes!! I too am a barefoot gal - not quite outside in winter, but DH can't figure it at all! No slippers most of the time inside in winter, and bare all summer, apart from the necessary trips to town :-). Great flip flops card (we call them jandels here in New Zealand).

Both are beautiful cards. Love the flower technique. So elegant. The flip flops are just fun. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Brenda. First thing I do when I walk in the door is take off my shoes. It's always flip flops or barefoot for me.
Both of your cards are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI only see a love-love relationship here, Brenda! In my eyes, that square die was cut in the PERFECT position, you've used a gorgeous purple, and someone is going to LOve it!! Barefoot? Let's put it this way: I'm barefoot when I get up, and until I go back to bed - no matter what the season!! Flip flops are my go-to shoe ... To get the mail in Winter? That's pushing it, sweetie! xx
ReplyDeleteYou have perfected the spotlight technique, Brenda! I'd say you cut out the perfect amount in your square to spotlight! And I love the flip flops. I'm a barefoot person in the summer too. And flip flops are my "shoe" of choice if I must put some on.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are great. Adding the butterfly to the framed flower is a neat "pop" and who doesn't like flip flops? (Another friend of mine posted a picture on FB of a flip flop wreath she made!) I was barefoot more in PA with my carpeted floors. Now with mostly hardwood, I need a bit of cushion, so I usually have on flip flops or sneakers. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th!
LOVE your first card Brenda. You are amazing with the spotlight technique ... it is PERFECT! I LOVE the CAS design and the colours you've used.
ReplyDeleteThe flip-flops are so fun, and cheerful with the patterned paper. This card is sure to bring a smile to whomever receives it.
Great designs Brenda. And thanks for the shout out ... you are so sweet! xx
A beautiful and adorable card!! Love the simpleness in the top one and the flip flops in the second one!!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards look great brenda. The flip flop card is so much fun and the butterfly card is just gorgeous, love that technique.

Oh my goodness!! That flower is awesome!! So very beautiful!! I so love, love, love it!!!!! And I really like the flip flop card, too. But I'm not a flip flop person. The RA is to bad in my feet for me to be able to wear them.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh, sitting by the pool, enjoying the sunshine and maybe a dip sound wonderful!!!!
Hope you have an awesome weekend!!!! :)
Sitting on the deck sounds a lovely idea, Brenda ... bare footed ... count me in!! Sweet summery flip flops with that touch of shimmery sparkle ... fabulous ... and that spolight bloom with it's perfectly placed square panel ... oh my, what a CAS delight ... the butterfly is such a gorgeous touch with it! Hugs, Anita :)
