You Fill My Heart with Sunshine!

Hello my crafty friends, I hope today finds you all well and enjoying life. It's my turn to post over at Cardz TV Gallery today. Since Easter is this weekend I needed to decide what I was doing for the grands this year. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, but Easter is so early this year that it just snuck up on me. I saw this tutorial over at Split Coast Stampers and decided that I would make these for the grands. They are so easy to make and pretty fast as well!! I made 6 of them, but only showing you one. They are all the same except for the colors and papers.  Don't be fooled, these baskets are a pretty good size and will hold a lot. I have stuffed wadded up paper in the bottom of mine to take up space. If I need the space, I will just take it out. My butterfly doesn't show up to good, no natural light when I took the picture. Sorry about that. This is about the only time I can seem to get crafty, when I need something for the grands. And of course spring is here and I am starting to mow now too. Spring and summer keeps me busy. So I'm not very crafty at the moment, hopefully when I get through this year of "firsts" since my husband passed, I will get in the mood to be a little more crafty. I want to make the grands an album of them with their Papaw here soon, so I hope my mojo comes back some time within the year. Recipe at the bottom of post.

As always thanks for taking time out of your day to visit little ole me. I sure do appreciate your comments as they always put a smile on my face and nowadays, I can always use a smile. Crafty hugs, Brenda

  2. Love your basket. I made 3 of them myself. But I used the svg that Brigit Mann created. Much easier for me since I can't measure accurately to same my soul. lol Your grands will love theirs.

  12. Your basket is just beautiful Brenda!!! I so love it!! And I know those grands of yours are gonna be excited to get goodies in the awesome baskets!! We've been so busy at work getting ready for inventory (which was today), our poor grands aren't getting anything homemade from us this year.
Hang in there, your first will pass, your mojo will return, and you will start feeling better about doing things. God has you in his powerful hands and is taking care of you and will get you through all of the firsts!!
Happy Easter my friend!!! And May God Bless You!!!! :)

  14. Clever work, Brenda, well done on creating these as I saw it also and thought mm, thats interesting...but looked pretty tricky to me. :D the grands will be delighted to receive them.

Happy Resurrection day dear Brenda, for death is a defeated foe, we can rejoice with all our heat that Christ won the victory when He arose again from the dead, as all in Christ by faith alone will once again rejoice with Him, a joy indeed..
    God bless and much love,

  16. These are adorable, and just perfect for hiding some Easter Bunny treats. I love the different embellies you put on each little basket, and I think the butterfly looks just fine! Pretty papers to make the basket too. I bet the kids were delighted, and Granma made them something special, all just for them. You're a good Granma! Hope your Easter was good too, with all the littles around to keep you cheerful. TFS & Hugs. MM

  18. HAPPY {late} Easter my sweet friend. LoVe your basket!!!
Your mojo will return. One day you will just say hey it's back. Not to say there won't be days were it will leave you again a little here and there. You lost your soulmate and best friend. Your heart will need time to heal. I lost my Mom 5 days after my 30th birthday, a week before Thanksgiving and a month before Christmas. I remember it took me a few years before I felt more or less back to normal. Loosing someone who is so much a part of your life is a hit to the system and leaves a hole that will never be completely filled back up again. Take care of yourself.
    Sending healing hugs,
    Dawn

  19. A very sweet Easter basket for your grands Brenda, I'm sure they loved them. I'll check up the tutorial too.

Hope you're spending some time in the garden and enjoying the arrival of spring. I sow some seeds today, so that I'll have some kale, radishes and rutabaga later on this year.

    Lots of love

  22. Oh Brenda, this basket is so adorable. It's perfect for any occasion and I will be making some for my grands. Our family hasn't had Easter here yet. I went with my son and his family to his sister in laws so it was different and better for me. I will be having a dinner for our family on the 17th but I'm not calling it Easter. No decorations or Easter food, just a get together with family. I would like to do the same holidays I always have but just not this year. The "firsts" are very hard. So far we have made a new routine to get through the holidays. I'm so glad you have your grandchildren. Kids live in the moment and that's a good thing. They keep us focused on the now..

  23. My darling friend! Remember me?! March was a blur and that, followed by our two week Spring break (so much fun with my mom and the kiddos!), and a wild week back at school, sees me falling behind: AGAIN! Thank you for being so patient with me; you're a gem! Speaking of gems: oh. my. stars! How fantastic are these treat baskets that are gifts in and of themselves! Beautiful, and I know the grands adored them, as do I! Yes, Brenda...the 'firsts' are challenging. This past year, we celebrated special occasions at my brother's place, which helped to make the transition 'sort of' easier. At Easter, however, my mom had everyone (we were with my mother-in-law) at her place and the 'thought' of the empty spot at the table (or someone else sitting there), had me a sobbing mess. I'm glad my mom was ready to move on to hostess back at her place...but I'm not. Perhaps, in time...and if not, I'm not going to feel bad. We all do what we need, in our own way, space and time! Your strength really does lift me up more often than you can possibly know! LOVE you!
    Hugs~c
