Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I don't know how Sunday got here already, but it's here.
I love to visit a fellow blogger and her name is Michele over at "I Card Everyone" and she has encourage me to enter the challenge over at Muse, where it is their 100th challenge and 2 anniversary. And that challenge is to us her card as your inspiration, to have negative space on your card and to have a song incorporated in to it. Soooo, here is Michele's card and then I will show you mind.
Michele's Beautiful Card
My card-Can you guess my song?? My potty people were inspired by Darnell's card.
If you guessed Wild Thang, then you are right. Well I don't really know the name of the song, but it goes like this:
Wild thang, I think I love you....you make my heart sing. Ok I don't know the lyrics real well, but it is a fun song and it always cracks me up. lol I hope you know what song I'm talking about. I used a My Creative Time Heart die to cut out my negative space, Then I took the positive part of the die cut and inked it with Hero Arts shadow ink Pale Tomato using a stamp from My Creative Time. The red heart came out the center of the die cut and I colored it with a Spectrum Noir marker, then popped it up on double thickness of foam tape after stamping my music notes on. I used Viva Decor pearl pen for the black pearls going around the heard. My potty people are a die also from My Creative Time as well as my stamped sentiment. I got my sentiment on crooked though. I think I will be using this card for hubby since we have an anniversary coming up next month, it will be our 22nd one and the chemo center gave us a very nice Christmas present. A night in Gettysburg at a very nice hotel, dinner for two and movies for two, we plan on going for our anniversary. We figured it up and he should be on his break from his pills then so he should be able to enjoy our meal. Wasn't that so sweet of the chemo center?!! Not sure why they pick us for this gift, but they did and we are very grateful.
Ok go check our Michele's blog (she is so awesome and fun) and Muse cause maybe you may want to join in on a challenge there!! As always thanks for taking your time to stop by and visit me. I always love reading your comments. Crafty hugs, Brenda
Oh Brenda, this is just fabulous! I love how you combined two card ideas to make your own.
ReplyDelete'Wild Thing' was originally recorded in the USA and a UK group called The Troggs did a cover version not long after which shot to the top of our charts. Now you've got me singing it here :)
And isn't that such a lovely gesture by the chemo centre - lovely way to celebrate your anniversary.
Hugs

LOL I love the song you picked. Wild Thing came on my Sirius radio the other day and I started singing and acting silly. Kenzie thought it was so funny and now she wants me to sing the song about the monster guy. LOL I love your take on the card and the way the heart is inserted. Also love the "potty people. I am so excited for your special night away from hubs. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a clever card you've made, and your hubby's going to enjoy it along with your special anniversary weekend getaway! I remember that song by the Troggs when I was much younger, and oddly enough, I made a card recently with the same sentiment that I'll post at some point :) I love the negative heart on the front with the very pretty one inside, but those potty people are too cute too! Great card! Now I have that song in my head like another earworm :)
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! And I am going to be singing/humming that song all day lol! A fabulous take of both cards Brenda and it is so very beautiful Karen xx

ReplyDeleteGorgeously CAS! I love the amazing depth and the wonderful colors. Cool take on the theme :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your card ... great job for the Muse challenge. As soon as I saw your sentiment, I had the song running through my head. :) It's a great song! Loll xx
ReplyDeleteJiminy, I did guess the song! Does that date me or what! Loved your inspiration card, but I loved your take on it even better. The lacy trim around the pretty pink heart with the tiny black pearl trim looked super underneath the heart die cut out.Great work with the Viva Décor...they all look so even. Loved the silhouette people. Did not know that term for them, so will have to check out the Darnell link. She always knows the latest things, yes???Great card. And I'm so pleased you & DH have something fun to look forward to, real soon. Hope all will go perfectly so the 2 of you can enjoy a romantic & well deserved anniversary evening. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteWild Thang...love it, and now I'll be humming it all day long! Your card (I visited MUSE to see it again, as it's snuck away from your post...or maybe it's my computer...hmmm) and yes indeed: adored it the first time, and even MORE now! The hearts, the couple, the sentiments: recipe for fabulous! Your Anniversary weekend sounds like a romantic get-away that you two more than deserve! As to why the Chemo people selected you for the gift: easy answer! You are awesome! I can't imagine heading there is a 'highlight,' but I know that your presence brings joy to the staff and to the other patients. Your smile along lights up a room, Brenda! Enjoy that trip immensely! I want to know which movie you end up seeing, and what marvelous dinner you ate! Hugs galore, lovely Brenda!
