Rudolph Day for Feb. & Snippet's Playground Challenges

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!! We are having a bright sunny day here, but it is chilly willy again and windy. Savannah doesn't know what to think now that I won't go out to play or walk. Hopefully the warm temps will make a come back soon even though for this time of year, we shouldn't have had those warm temps.

I have another stacking layer card for you today that I made for Rudolph Day. Rudolph Day is held the 25th of each month until the midnight on the last day of said month, each month but Dec. but don't quote me on the month of Dec. It's all about Christmas cards/projects and getting them done before Christmas so you can spend quality time with your family and friends at a very busy time of year. I turned this stacking layer card into a Christmas card, or at least I hope it kinda' looks like a Christmas card. I used foil cardstock or mirror paper snippets behind the cutouts. I used green, blue and a copper color. Loved how they looked! But what to do next? I went through my Christmas die's and decided on this wreath with some holly and berries. I kinda' wished I would have used a stag now, but there you have it. It is what it is. I cut the wreath from the cooper paper even though it looks gold in the photo, it isn't! The holly I cut using the same green foil paper snippets and cut the holly leaves. I didn't have any red mirror cardstock and my red glitter paper snippets where more on the pink side, so didn't really want to use them. So I went with plain old red cardstock snippet to cut the berries. No sentiment on the outside as I just don't think it lends itself to one, so it will be on the inside. I'm not quite sure I like the wreath on this card but it is done so the way it will stay. What do you think?? Should have used a stag right???? I didn't make 4 of this card, but intend to make some more here, maybe even today, but will use the stag I think. lol

As always I want to thank you for stopping by and visiting with me a spell. Your sweet comments always bring lots of joy and sunshine to my other wise dull days. So thank you!!

Since I used snippets on this card, I'm joining in over at the Snippet's Playground this week. Haven't been over and played in a while now and I miss everyone. Lots of fun at the playground and maybe you might want to join in too! All you have to do is use snippets (scraps) on your project!

I am leaving you with a photo of Savannah and Bret while he was home last weekend. And a sunset photo that was just beautiful. I was surprise that my phone got such a great photo of the sunset and accurate one as well. And the last picture was of the storm that came through yesterday bringing the cold front in. Yep, that is hail and I was thankful that I had a garage to house my car! Lots of damage around Central PA and they are even investigating to make sure there was a tornado that went through an area. Glad it wasn't here!

  1. Oh how I LOVE this card today! The brilliance of all the mirror card and pretty colors just takes me away! I really like the "wreath" with holly - it's such a clever and creative Christmas make! Great pics of your furry friend and son too - and that sunset is breathtaking!! All that red color is fabulous!! Yep, we got through those storms unscathed, but the wind was really ferocious for a while!!

  2. Love your card! The stacking dies are gorgeous and thank you for the info about Gina Marie's. The shine is just lovey on the wreath and holly. Savannah is so big and she is a beautiful dog. I bet she loves Bret playing with her. We have cold again today, it was 74 Friday! We had a lot of wind too but not tornado winds and no hail. It has been a strange winter everywhere.

  6. That Christmas card is a real stunner! Fabulous layers in such gorgeous colors!! Was it time consuming?, cuz if it wasn't too bad, I'm sure your family/friends would love to see this in their mailbox later on this year. It's very cool. Nice pic of your two babies, too!! Both look so sweet!! Gorgeous sunset, too. Since my grandkids broke my camera, I've been shooting with my iPhone; about 5 years now, lol! Glad you didn't get more hail in that storm! We got rain before we sent it on to you....Have a great week dear friend!!! xoxoxo Bev

  37. I love the wreath, it's so unusual, and that copper foil is fabulous, can't imagine the stag, your photos are fab too! tfs xxx

  38. Gosh, another post I missed! Great look on the Christmas layers. And the foil really sparkles behind the white layers. Love that gorgeous wreath. (yes, it does look gold on my monitor. Can image that the copper looks fab though. And No, I don't think it needs a stag). I think the holly berry clusters are perfect, because it emphasizes the colors you have in the inlay layers. I think this must be one of your prettiest Christmas cards. Enjoyed seeing the pictures too. You've really captured that beautiful sunset. And so good to see Mr. B & Miss S. He's becoming quite the young man and looks a good bit like his Mama I think. Savannah looks quite content to be there with him too! TFS & big hugs. MM
