A Peony Birthday

Hello my crafty friends, I hope this Friday finds you all well and ready for a fun weekend. The weeks are zooming by aren't they?! Been warm here, but that makes pool time so much better. At least until the water gets to warm. lol But it loses heat at night, so it is the perfect temp to me. So I plan on enjoying some pool time this week too.

My card for today resulted in just some playing around. I took this Altenew stamp set, Peony Bouquet and practiced stamping some flowers in different colors on to mixed media paper. I got better at getting it lined up, so I have some pretty flowers to use to make cards with. I took this one and decided to try and mask it to add the leaves. Didn't do a great job on the leaves, but decided to just go with it anyway. Didn't care for it with just the leaves, but didn't want to throw it away either, so decided to add a bud. I colored the stem of the bud in with a Zig Clean Color Brush marker so it would be orange. Added a negative cut out snippet to frame it out, I cut out part of the bud and part of the leaf to over hang the frame which I like. Die cut my happy from a snippet of black paper and then stamped "birthday". Mounting the whole thing on a black layer and then on to my card base. Overall I'm pretty happy at how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by, you know I always love it when you come and sit a spell with me! Your comments bring so much sunshine into my life and make me smile from ear to ear!! Hope to be by your blog soon.

  10. I love how you stamped this pretty flower, and especially how the leaf, bloom and sentiment are spilling out of the frame! The stitched edges make the greatest framework, and those tiny sequins add just the right amount of sparkle! Stay cool today - it's going to be sweltering here!

  11. I think this is gorgeous! It has a natural look. I love the way the bud id over the frame. Makes it look real. Really stunning!
To answer your question - I got my marquee lights at Hobby Lobby. They are Heidi Swapp, but the 24 set. I just made do with what I had.
Michaels or JoAnn's may have the smaller sets. Hobby Lobby is 10 minutes from me and the others are 40 minutes away.

Thank goodness, though, because then we end up with beautiful creations like this one. Love it! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. Hugs!
