Time to Celebrate-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello crafty friends, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was pretty good. It snowed all day into the night on Saturday, we ended up with about 9 inches with a tad bit of freezing rain later in the late evening. I went shopping with my youngest son as he needed a new coat since his had gotten to short on him. Was glad to get home though, the roads were terrible, no plows had been at all and of course there are the people who drive like the roads are dry and clear. lol DS was ready to put me out his car! lol Please tell me I'm not alone with back seat driving with a teen. He is a really good driver, but it was the weather and the other nuts out there I didn't quite trust. lol Sunday was beautiful, sunny and warm at 42 degrees! After negative temps and wild winds, that 42 felt so good. Hubby pushed snow from the drive and then we took a nice 4 wheeler ride. Such beautiful scene seeing the farm land blanketed in snow!

Well as you know Monday's always bring a new challenge over at BBTB2. My sweet and talented friend, Diana, has give the DT and you the challenge of using a clock on our project. Oh man, at first I was thinking what am I going to make?!! lol But then I thought a little more, and decided on the following project. After having my Explore since before Christmas, I finally got it out the box and set it up. Oh man, does it ever cut nice! I am so loving it so far!!! I am having an issue about linking my carts. It is telling me that they are already linked. Well yes they are, to the Gypsy. So not sure what I have to do to get them to link to the Explore. So I guess I will call tomorrow. Anyway, I used one of the clock images they have in their library, it is a pocket watch and the reason I went with a pocket watch was that I have a pocket watch stamp from Studio 112. Someone had sent it to me and this is the first time using it. So yay, I used a NBUS!! (Never Been Used Schtuff) I used that stamp to make my background on my card base, I love how it turned out. Then I used MCT stitched rectangle dies to cute my black mat layer, which is a snippet, so I will be able to go play in the playground. I used MCT alpha stamps to stamp my sentiment and heat emboss it in SU white embossing powder. Using gold foil paper, I cut out my pocket watch on the Explore at 2 inches. Assembled my pocket watch and popped it up on my black mat.  I also popped up the mat layer on my card base. For the inside, I just stamped another pocket watch and die cut a gold MCT balloon in hologram paper. I haven't placed a sentiment inside yet, because I don't know what I am going to use the card for yet. It can be a birthday card, a retirement card, a new job card, etc...Lots of things to celebrate! And that is it folks, a super simple card but I am so loving it and loving the Explore.

Now it is your turn to make something with a clock and link up with us. Just make sure to use your Cricut for your clock cut, that's it! As always thanks so much for taking time out of your busy life to visit me. I am always happy to see you visit with me for a spell! Crafty hugs, Brenda

edited to add in some challenges that I'm going to play in

  9. Great minds, indeed! Yours is really magnificent, Brenda, and you topped me by doing the inside, too!! I simply have a mind block about that part!! Great job using your NBUS!!

And, yes, I'm the same way about being a back-seat driver. It is sometimes better for both the Mister and me if I just get in the back seat and lay down so I can't see what's going on!!

Have a wonderful week! Hugs, Auntie

  15. The stamped clocks made a perfect background to your watch cut I love the sentiment, too. You are right, there are many uses to this card, love it. I don't think we have had a 40 degree temp for at least 3 months. I liked your backseat driving comment. After teaching 3 boys to drive, no one is safe from my backseat driving, lol.

  16. Lovely card Brenda! Love the stamping background and your pretty clock! Happy that you set up the Explore--you will enjoy it. Of course, there are lots of things that I must learn, but I like it. I never linked a cartridge to the Gypsy, but the Explore tells me one of mine has been linked to gypsy..I need to call too.
We are having sleet today.Schools are closed. Just hope we don't lose electricity!
Stay warm and have a good week!
    Hugs!

You asked me what printer I use with my Explore. I use a HP Envy 5660. I love how it prints. It is wireless which is a big asset to me. I think once you do your first print and cut, you will love that feature, too!!! :)

  25. WOW.. your stamped background actually looks like a real piece of patterned paper and does not look like it has been stamped at all. You did a wonderful job on that. This card turned out so beautiful. I love the hint of gold!! Such the rave and I love it!

  28. Love the pocket watches! This is so perfect for a guy! I get nervous riding in bad weather with anyone!

  29. The first picture here shows the pocket watch so well. It looks so authentic. You had the perfect stamp to use for the background. I used to feel the same way when my sons started driving. You never know what they see and don't see so it is a little scary. Now I'm happy to have them drive me somewhere.

  30. i would not have guessed you used a stamp for the background paper. It was perfect for the clock card. Keep warm. We were 78 here today, but getting cold soon.

  31. Hello, sweet friend! How wonderful to know I'm not alone in being a 'back seat' driver! Many are the times my poor husband threatens to stop at the side of the road to have me trade places with him...and that pretty much silences me...for a while! Just like you with your boy: it's not my husband whose driving that sketches me out, but the others on the road. Sometimes I wonder if some folks even notice the weather and road conditions, driving as they do! White-knuckles: I have them often! Your 4-wheel drive across your land does sound beautiful. And speaking of beautiful: your card! Oh my, Brenda! Your pocket watch is spectacular, reminding me of the old one my brother inherited from my grandfather. The clocks background is eye-catching, as is the charming sparkly balloon on the inside! Delightful to the max, sweet friend; just like YOU!
    Hugs~c
