I have a birthday card to share today. I have seen Loll, over at (Stamping with Loll, cut her mat paper in such a way that it fits onto her card base wonky. I really like that look, so decided I would give it a go. I am fairly pleased with how my card came out. Stamped, die cut and colored my flowers. Most are colored with alcohol ink markers but I think one set of leaves and the red flower (the bright greens ones at the bottom) were colored with Prisma Pencils. Embossed my background, arranged my flowers and leaves and placed my sentiment strip down and called it done.
As always, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and visit with me a spell. I always enjoy when you stop by and your comments are always a ray of sunshine to me. If I've not been by to visit you, I should be by soon!

Brilliant card Brenda, such a striking design. Glad you had a relaxing 4th July (until the fireworks started). We seem to have a lot of fireworks here too at random times of the year, which is a really problem for people with dogs. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda - Happy Independence Day a bit late! Glad you had a good day! Love the card, the wonky mat works so well. xx
ReplyDeleteAW! poor Savannah, dogs get so scared of loud noises don't they? I love the shape you did with the flowers, so very beautiful and different. Love it.

Your darling card has Loll written all over it, Brenda! Well done! A really lovely garden planted in that fun wonky panel!
ReplyDeletePoor Savannah - and every other dog in the nation! Maybe one of those weighted blankets over her would help?

Loll is amazing and this design is great. This is something I need to CAS because I am not good at getting things straight and this might help. Lovely flower and your coloring looks wonderful. A laid back holiday is just the ticket. Daisy is getting better about fireworks but storms still keep her up.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and an awesome layout, Brenda! I love how the black base makes the colored flowers pop!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful design, Brenda! Love your happy colors as well as the way you arranged your colorful blossoms. Great shading too!
ReplyDeleteLovely card :) We had a quiet laid back day here too
ReplyDeleteI am always a fan of those wonky panels like this, but the way your flowers fall over the bottom edge is really cool! Love the colors and wonderful embossed background too! Sorry your dog is so frightened by the fireworks, but I've seen weighted coats for dogs that help them get comfortable in storms or fireworks. Maybe that would be something Savannah would enjoy during those stressful times. So glad you and Bret enjoyed a nice, relaxing holiday! Same here, very low key and quiet :) Wishing you a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sweet flower card, Brenda. I LOVE your card design..so creative and your friendwill love it. I think there were lots of very unhappy animals during the fireworks. Hope yours got over their scare:-( How fun to have a barbeque with your son on the 4th too:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteLove how your experiment with a wonky card worked - this is absolutely gorgeous Brenda. The colours are lovely too

ReplyDeleteBeautifully done card!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stylish design, Brenda and I love the mix of blooms you used. Love the contrast between the black and white too!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good holiday celebration. Fireworks are fun but they are such a problem for pets and wild animals aren't they?
Hope you are keeping cool,
Hugs
