Hello my crafty friends, I hope this Sunday finds you all well. I had a little time so wanted to make a couple cards for some challenges. So will start with the CAS Watercolour Challenge and their prompt is black and red. One can never go wrong with the color combo of black and red in my own humble opinion-not in cards or clothing. It is a classic, elegant and sexy (in a classy way) color combo to me. Well I didn't have a clue as to what I wanted to do since Valentine's Day is over. I know black and red isn't just for Valentine's but the old brain just wasn't thinking! I don't think well on demand anyway. lol But this is what I came up with. Simple and CAS, nothing special. I didn't add a sentiment because I don't know if I will use this card for a birthday card, anniversary card or a Valentine card. Hard to say what it will be used for! But when I decide I will place a banner across the flower stems with a sentiment. I used Brusho's in Rose Red, I was a little disappointed in it as I was hoping some other flecks of color would have been in it, but there wasn't. It's a beautiful red or pink shade, I just thought, like a lot of other Brusho's, it would have has other flecks of color. Oh well, I still love the results. The light pink flower was made from the paper that I used to soak up what was left of the Rose Red on my mat. I hope it is ok that there is pink on the card too. I will be back another day to enter another challenge.
As always the full recipe of supplies will be listed down below. I thank you for taking time out of your busy day and visiting with me a spell. I am behind in commenting once again, but hope to be by your blog very soon.
Crafty hugs,

Beautiful card Brenda, so striking in red, black and white. It's one of my favourite colour combinations, perfect for feminine or masculine cards. I love the description of your white card. I think mine comes from the same place! LOL! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat an elegant card Brenda - I too love brushos for the various colours that sometimes show, and sometimes don't, much to my frustration too.

This is such a pretty card with the brusho blend of colors! I love the colorful layered flower stems, but that strip of water colored paper with the punched doily border adds such an elegant look to this card! It's a beautiful card, and it's so nice to see you crafting again!
ReplyDeleteThe brusho panel sure made a delicious strip and pink bloom, Brenda ... this is so pretty, especially with the dainty border! Hugs, Anita :)

LOve your any-occasion card in shades of red, Brenda... and your sweet little bouquet! That darling little bit of lace adds just that much more femininity to your card!
ReplyDeleteI've only played with Brushos once, and they were in shades of brown - I must say your Rose reds are much prettier! Gorgeous card!

These flowers remain one of my all time favorite dies and I love them in the smooshed and mopped up colors! The black background shows them off beautifully. The red panel may not have a variety of colors but it does have wonderful watery movement! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!
ReplyDeletePretty card Brenda! Love the strip of brushos on the side and the gorgeous blooms. The scalloped border makes it so pretty and feminine. Lovely card! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx
ReplyDeleteThis card is so pretty Brenda :)
ReplyDeleteHugs my friend, Tina
Fabulous colour combination and the brusho's look wonderful. Yes some of the brusho's are what I call solid colours and others with flecks. However if you mix water enough with any of them they will all go to a solid colour to use as water colours etc....
ReplyDeletepretty and elegant too
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for playing along with the CAS Watercolour Challenge.
