Christmas Card-Advice Please

Hello my crafty friends, I hope your weekend has been a good one. It's been a nice sunny one for us. Which is a nice change after all the rain. We have been trying to put things away for winter. I would have preferred to have it already done, but the weather stayed warm for so long and then I was gone most of Oct. Then I have to wait for a "bye" with Penn State Football team because of course Bret can't do anything when football is on!

I wanted to join in the Rudolph Challenge, but of course I didn't make it in time. Little Maverick has kept me busy with potty breaks and keeping him from chewing on things he isn't supposed too. I finally got a card made but it didn't come out the way it was in my head and I need some advice on how to make it look better. So please let me know what I could do to help it as it needs something!! I just don't know what that something should be. So  suggestions please!!!

Card Recipe:
background frame was cut from Design Space using my Cricut
image is from Maymay Made It-Adore Him
SU gold embossing powder
holographic paper from Walmart I believe-have had it for years

  1. I think your card is so elegant and classy and no help required from me Brenda x. It's been cold of late and I too have to sort out the garden before Winter sets in x.

  2. I honestly don't know that it needs anything Brenda! The decorative gold around the outside is festive and beautiful and the serene image inside looks perfect to me! Maybe a tiny "rejoice" stamp somewhere to indicate the baby Jesus would make it more appealing to you?

Glad you were able to get a photo posted. I had to refresh at least 5 times and click again and again on the spot where "insert photo" is to get it to appear. It should NOT be that much trouble to blog a photo........sigh!

  4. Doing some catch up Brenda so understand re the making a card in amongst everything else!
I agree with previous comments, it’s an elegant card... very CAS,... however also agree with Carol’s suggestion, I always like a sentiment of some sort on Christmas cards, so tag stamp greeting wee stacked die cut towards the bottom of image would work, black tag and gold if stamped, or simply gold if die cut ..
    Possible suggestions but not essential.
    Thanks for Sharing, God bless,

  6. This is so elegant, Brenda. I always toy with the idea of watercoloring the image but leaving it works beautifully too. When we try to add something, we take the chance of ruining it. Maybe a tiny die cut joy in the bottom corner would work too.

  7. Oh those pesky puppy days, so much work, when all we want to do is play!! Your card is gorgeous, Brenda - beautiful foiling, and such a spectacular Mother and Child stamp!
It is only a guess... but might you be missing the glow of their halos? a tiny bit of watered-down metallic gold water color paint might do the trick? BUT test it on a scrap of your card stock so you don't ruin this little masterpiece! xx

  9. I agree with Carol, maybe a small sentiment on vellum so the image shows through. It doesn't have to really have anything else. It is lovely just as it is.

  10. Hi Sweetie, I also think the card looks great the way it is, but if you really want to play with it, maybe sponging some different colors throughout the gold border might give the impression of stained glass.

  11. Such a Beautiful card Brenda, the only thing I could suggest a strip of vellum with a joyeus greeting? It doesn't need anything really. Love it.

  13. This is gorgeous! You can't lose with gold on white. I thought it was foiled. And when can I come for my Cricut lessons to see if I should buy one! What a fabulous frame. I agree with the others. Let it be. I cannot for the life of me understand what you are unhappy about with this one.

  15. Glad things are going well, although really busy with training the new puppy! I love your elegant card, Brenda! A very small sediment stamped or embossed in gold (something like PEACE) is all you need. I'd put it near her hip where the outline goes in and then out again. Hugs, Auntie
