Hello my crafty friends! I hope this Tuesday finds you all well and having a great week. It's the same ole, same ole here.
The 10th of August started a new challenge over at the Twofer Challenge and I really wanted to play along this month. So while the "girls" were napping, I got started. Took me a while between naps, but I got two done! Yay!!! Now I hope I can join in a couple other challenges. Will see how it goes. The challenge word prompt is geometric shapes. That should be easy right?! Well, we will see. I went perusing Pinterest for some ideas and I found two that I was inspired by. Here and here are the cards that inspired me. Both of my cards use snippets, so I am going to enter them also at the Snippet's Playground across the pond. It will be good to see Di and Parsnips! My shaker card isn't the greatest as I always have problems with them but it isn't to bad either. It shakes some. lol Other than that, I'm pretty pleased with how these two cards came out. As always the supplies I used will be in the card recipe at the bottom of this post.
Let have a close up look at each one separately shall we?
And there you have it! My twofer cards for this geometric challenge. Hope you like them, I am liking them pretty good. Always room for improvement on my part, but pretty satisfied with them. As always, thank you for stopping by and visiting me even though it is soggy. Still raining if you can believe that! Your comments always leave a ray of sunshine which I adore! Have a beautiful week my crafty friends!
Edited: Joining in over at the Snippet's playground since I used snippets on both of my cards.
Crafty hugs,

Good idea with the hexagon & bees - I may have to make a Bee card too (when I've finished painting the lounge!) X
ReplyDeleteTwo fantastic designs using hexagons Brenda. The first card is awesome withe the mix of colours and patterned paper ... great way to use snippets!! And your second card is darling with the sweet honeycomb shaker and the bees. Cute!! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge! xx
ReplyDeleteSaw your cards over at Twofer, and had to come have a look. I adore anything bee themed, and these are no exception. Fab cards! x
ReplyDeleteYour shaker card is fabulous and such a creative and fabulous idea....fun sentiment too x. Your first card is so classy, love the layout and the wonderful colours x. Great way to use the same geometric die cut.
ReplyDeleteYou hexagoned the heck out of these two marvelous designs, Brenda! I love the organic layout of the various sizes and patterns and dimension on your birthday card (great for a guy!) and your shaker card is nothing short of delightful! Those bees are too cute and I love splattering of wee flowers on the shaker "walls" and the fun yellow and black bits in with your sequints! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #8! Enjoy those girls!! Hugs, Auntie Darnell
ReplyDeleteI love hexagons, and to be honest, I've been thinking of using hexagons for this challenge too - only I haven't come up with any ideas yet! LOL I love the mix of papers and stitched hexes on the first and the way you layered everything looks so cool! Dang, that shaker card turned out to be so cute and fun and you did a great job with your shaker! Gotta love the cute little bees too! Well done on the twofer :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great geometric birthday card, Brenda! Love how you used patterned paper on some of them. And your bee-shaker-card as totally fun and cheerful! Love them both!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining us at the Twofer!
Wonderful cards Brenda - I love the top, masculine one in particular. Awesome use of the hexagons! The bee shaker card is a real sweetie too. Insipred use of the snippets in the surrounding hexagons

There seems to be a hexagon trend these days, Brenda, so you've chosen the perfect geometric shape, for these darling cards!
ReplyDeleteI'd trade you a little of that rain for some of our heat!

Both cards have a fantastic arrangement of hexagons! I especially love the shaker card with the cheerful bees! Shakers are a challenge but so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so proud of you with these 2fer cards. You have done a marvelous job on each card, and your shaker card looks great. Love the little bees, and the stitching detail too. It's a pretty design. The dark background with the blues & beiges is equally wonderful....Love all the various sizes of the hexagon shapes and the colors and patterns of the papers. They work so well together! Catch up soon. Big hugs & TFS. MM
ReplyDeleteWow Brenda - these are both fabulous! I especially love the shaker card, you made a great job of it and I love the hexagon shapes like the honey bee cells. Ha, hexagons are all I've been able to think of for Darnell's latest challenge - back to the drawing board I think.

Delicious geometrics, Brenda ... the first neutral-with-a-touch-of-blue is cool and stylish, with a hint of prettiness in the floral pp ... and the second is so cute, your sweet bees are adorable against the hexagonal shaker, seems those seeds beads are just like the tiny daisies being blown about in the breeze! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Two very cool cards! Love the layered hexes on the first, and your shaker card is so cute!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Brenda, completely different too for the twofer challenge;) and you must be exhausted with that Pup! Xxx
ReplyDeleteThese are fun cards for Twofer. I love all the different prints on the first one and how clever to use black and yellow beads in your "bee" shaker. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBoth so adorable Brenda my friend! LOVE both of them! Hazel xx
